Allwinner Technology is a China-based semiconductor product provider founded in 2007, and its product lineup covers mobile application processor, smart PMIC and smart mobile connected software.

Allwinner and ARM

In 2011, Allwinner Technology became the ARM processor licencee[1], and introduced a series of ARM Cortex-A8 powered mobile application processors, including the AllWinner A1x series(A10/A13/A10s/A12) that can now be found in lots of products like PC-on-a-stick, tablets, or media center and used in free hardware projects like the Cubieboard motherboard.

In December 2012, Allwinner announced the availability of two ARM Cortex-A7 MPCore powered products, Allwinner A20 a dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 MPCore and Allwinner A31 a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 MPCore. The production started in September and first product using this SoC should be out at beginning of 2013 like Onda V972.[2] They are the first to make in mass production this ARM processor.

Product Lineup

Allwinner product lineup includes A-series for tablets, smartphones and media servers[3] and F-series for e-ink and car embedded products.[4]
