This is a ranking of the highest grossing Indian films which includes film industries from various languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, etc. based on the conservative global box office estimates as reported by reputable sources.

During the 1940s cinema in South India accounted for nearly half of India's cinema halls[1] which has grown to 75% of all film revenues in India as of 2009.[2]

Indian films have been screened in markets around the world since the early 20th century.[1] As of 2003, there are markets in over 90 countries where films from India are screened.[3]

Highest grossing Tamil films(including telugu dubb version)

Tamil films or films in the Tamil language, are generally produced in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, particularly in the Chennai neighbourhood of Kodambakkam, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Canada. Box office figures in India are not tracked officially and sources estimate the results .[25]

Highest grossing Telugu films

Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, consists primarily of motion pictures produced in the Telugu language in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Known for being commercially consistent,[37] Telugu cinema, one of the largest film producers in India, had its influence over commercial cinema in India.[38]

Punjabi cinema (Punjabi: ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ), commonly known as Pollywood is the Punjabi language film industry in the states of Punjab in India and Pakistan.
