Banishree Yojana is a scholarship scheme launched by government of Odisha to provide financial assistance to students with special needs.[2][3][4] The government issue scholarships for the children with special needs who are pursuing education from primary to higher studies,trainees of vocational and technical education.The main objectives is to assist financially and motivate students with special needs in studies and also to acquire vocational,technical and professional training. [5]

Eligibility criteria

  • Student must be lawful resident of Odisha[5]
  • Student must pursuing education in an educational institute on a regular basis.[5]
  • The overall family income is not more than Rs 60,000/- per annum.[5]
  • The student must not be supported by any financial assistance from state or center government, under any scheme.[5]
