About your CloseRM script.

Hello there Danny, I am writing to you to say your CloseRM script is not working (for me at least), as after I enter the rationale, it throws me out of the editing thing, and makes no changes. I'm using Windows 10, on Google Chrome. Can you please tell me how to get it working? Closing RM discussions manually is slow, and inconvenient. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. The Duke 15:48, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@The Duke of Nonsense: are you using the old (2006) editor? From the screenshot it appears that that is the intended editor to use it with. Either way, can you hit F12 and copy any errors the next time this happens? Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 17:41, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The Duke of Nonsense, it (obviously) does not work with 2017 VE Text editor, though some re-basing can let it work. (TO-DO)
I have also seen that it does not work with Wiki-Ed installed but I don't have much idea about WikiEd and have no clue, as to the solution. WBGconverse 06:43, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Winged Blades of Godric: I don't either, but thanks for letting me know. As for the VE Text editor, I can look into it - I have a few ideas, but nothing actionable yet. --DannyS712 (talk) 14:27, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article List of Rokdim Im Kokhavim participants has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is nothing more comprehensive about this list than the season-by-season listing list already at Rokdim_Im_Kokhavim#Participants, and if more details about contestants are desired/warranted, there's no benefit to a conglomerate list over including details of a season's contestants at individual season articles.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 05:57, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Hydronium Hydroxide: I created the list as the result of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2018 April 30#Category:Dancing with the Stars participants. I have no objection if you want to redirect it to the participants section. --DannyS712 (talk) 06:00, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@DannyS712: That works. Cheers, ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 06:01, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No dude, this is just dumbly but/and very unintentionally hypocritical

Why in the world, you converted just a page, that I don't given a damn for the next Quebec election, which I was led someone doing it overtime, into a stupidly pathetic draft page that I clearly don't want, while there another one who been made three days go on next Alberta election gets Scott-free. And because of that, I'm undoing it because your reason isn't enough just because has less thousand of words. Like come on, I was planned on turning my laptop off until this. Chad The Goatman (talk) 08:59, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Chad The Goatman: If I had seen that other page, I would have moved it to a draft too, but I don't want to move-war, so I'll leave both of them. My reason wasn't that there is less than a thousand words, but that, as the article says, it must be held on October 3, 2022, which is more than 3 years from now. See Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a crystal ball and Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. However, as I said at the start, I won't move either of them. I'm sorry, --DannyS712 (talk) 09:04, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then, and I was sorry to undoing it, but please warned the User:Steve Smith too about creating a future election page next time. Chad The Goatman (talk) 09:08, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Chad The Goatman: if I come across a page like this in the future I might, but for now I'm going to take a pause from moving pages to drafts, just to make sure I don't get into any more heated discussions --DannyS712 (talk) 09:10, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I won't get mad if someone else like you of when I make a new page in the near future, which is seemly a drafted in progress with the lack of sources of backing it up. Chad The Goatman (talk) 09:12, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Chad The Goatman: okay. --DannyS712 (talk) 09:15, 21 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Good, then I will in minutes, will turn my laptop off. 09:16, 21 April 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chad The Goatman (talkcontribs)

Categories & CfDs

Hello, DannyS712,

Going through Wikipedia:Database reports/Empty categories tonight, I've come across 10-12 categories that still have CfD tags on them from discussions you closed on April 20th. What is the next step you take when you close a discussion as a NAC? How are you sure that your requests for closure (merger or deletion) are followed through on? Because it looks like these categories should have the CfD tags removed and they should be marked for deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 03:23, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Since WP:CFDW is protected, I post at WT:CFDW and an admin (Ymblanter) graciously cross-posts - at that point, its all in the hands of the bot and the admins who edit the protected page. On a different note, I've noticed recently that, after I tag a portal category for speedy deletion since the portal was deleted (and the categorization relies on the portal), you replace it with a C1 tag - why? See:

Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 03:36, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adopting another user script

I was looking at some of old links for Flooded with them hundreds, and I noticed you'd adopted some of their scripts after I looked at your scripts subpage (which is currently outdated, you might want to update the links there).

Anyway, I noticed one of Flooded's old scripts VisualEditist is linked rather prominently in the lead of Wikipedia:VisualEditor. I'm not sure how important the script is, but I do notice one editor currently has the script imported, so it might be worth REFUNDing and preserving. If not, the link it should be removed from the lead of Wikipedia:VisualEditor. eπi (talk | contribs) 00:14, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@E to the Pi times i: that page was just for keeping myself organized while I copied them. Since FWTH has been banned, I'll post at the IAdmin noticeboard asking for a copy. --DannyS712 (talk) 04:23, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ready for a bot

Hello D. I wanted to let you know that 2019 April 17Blocked_user ( links | transclusions | talk | doc | sandbox | testcases ) has over 3660 transclusions so it is ready for a bot to remove them. Thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk 03:45, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@MarnetteD: I currently have 3 brfas tagged as BAGAssistanceNeeded, and 3 others. I'll file that next, but I'll be a few days. --DannyS712 (talk) 04:22, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No worries and no hurry. This is the first big one we've had since we chatted a few weeks ago so I wanted to let you know. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 04:30, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2019 Reminder

Hi. I'm DannyS712 (talk), and I just wanted to remind you that you are a current participant in round 2 of this year's WikiCup! There are only a few days until the second round ends – if you haven't made you first submission for this round yet, there is still time to start; if you have already started, keep up the good work. See your submissions page: here. Good luck!

Please review edits such as this that just leave text in the middle of navigation. This is not how you should be unlinking deleted content. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:29, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Koavf: sorry, I misunderstood the new option in Xunlink. I'm fixing those now, and will read up on the documentation. --DannyS712 (talk) 04:30, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks kindly. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:31, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: I think I got them all, thanks for the note and the follow up. It seems that Xunlink edits to portal pages don't go well - maybe they should be avoided? On a different note, I kept conflicted with you on AWB - I would preparse a group, and then when I went through you had already edited most. 2 things I want to share: the find and replace regex I used, ({{Portal[^{}]*)\|Hip hop([^{}]*}}\n) -> $1$2. Second, do you think that a bot to remove the simple transclusions, eg {{Portal|Hip hop}} would be a good idea? --DannyS712 (talk) 04:39, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I always forget regex syntax--thanks for the reminder on how it works. I would say yes to a bot if there were tens of thousands of entries but a few hundred and it's not worth the time. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:41, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: well together we made over 2,000 edits just for Hip hop. Now I'm looking at Portal:Marvel Cinematic Universe (and removing the links from portal space manually first), but Category:Portal templates with all redlinked portals has 11,000 pages, not to mention the others in Category:Portal templates with redlinked portals. Having a list of deleted portals to run through, even for a few dozen edits for each portal, would add up. --DannyS712 (talk) 04:43, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, true. Nice thing is, {{Portal}} doesn't display if it's all redlinks. I certainly wouldn't say don't suggest it but it doesn't seem necessary. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 04:46, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: okay. Thanks for the help cleaning up --DannyS712 (talk) 04:48, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: Portal:Prehistory of South America has over 1200 incoming links, including around 230 just from category pages. Having a bot process these would save some work... --DannyS712 (talk) 05:27, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
