Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mayhem (1999), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charles Robinson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:33, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can you please add your sources to CWA Submission Shootfighting Championship? It has none at the moment. It has 'external links' but that just means 'suggestions for further reading' rather than sources used in the article's creation. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 08:19, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Response

I don't think I found it non-notable. It was the biggest annual event of FMW and there is no specific reason to find it non-notable. It was the most significant event in the company's history and the sources have indicated it. If you still want to delete it after adding enough sources and working very hard then I shall restrain myself from wasting time in working hard to create articles in Wikipedia.--Mark Linton (talk) 04:06, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Such people who may want to get detailed information on the event which they may be unable to get on other websites will be convenient in getting information on FMW's flagship event at Wikipedia. A free encyclopedia, as it claims, must provide information on FMW's biggest yearly event. Maybe puroresu fans are looking for such information and they may find it helpful. This information is definitely not false or wrong. Sources provided in the article are accurate, not only in the FMW 4th Anniversary Show but also in FMW 5th Anniversary Show, FMW 6th Anniversary Show, FMW 7th Anniversary Show, FMW 8th Anniversary Show, FMW 9th Anniversary Show, FMW 10th Anniversary Show, FMW 11th Anniversary Show, and FMW 12th Anniversary Show. The information in these articles may be helpful for readers who want to read and research on these below mentioned articles. Thanks. --Mark Linton (talk) 04:08, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am removing the deletion tag from these articles because I don't find them non-notable. If you still want to delete then you are admins and you have authority to do it. I cannot do anything about it and I don't need to give any explanation on it. I have already worked very hard and provided enough sources, which are true. If you will encourage me to expand these articles by removing "deletion tag" then I will provide more information and I think sources are enough to give information. If you do have any solid and suitable answer to my claims then do reply me on my talk page instead of deleting these articles and if you wanted to place "deletion tag" then you could have done it when I created these articles. Now, I can only request you, not to delete them after a lot of hard work and after a very long time. Thanks.--Mark Linton (talk) 04:11, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I'm going to explain this to you so you understand. Your personal opinion on what is notable doesn't mean anything to wikipedia. You need reliable independent sources to prove notability. If you don't know what those are you should read up on pages about Wikipedia standards and guidlines. Also, you are not allowed to remove AFD tags form articles under any circumstances except if they are blatant vandalism. You could end up getting yourself blocked if you do that again.★Trekker (talk) 16:31, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It is not my personal opinion on the FMW Anniversary Show being notable. It was a damn notable event. Just check the history. Just check the attendance records. I have even provided references of books in these articles but if you still want to delete them then nothing can be done about it. Furthermore, I would like to ask where were you when these articles were new and now you are wanting to delete them after two-three months?--Mark Linton (talk) 12:38, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your attempt at transcluding your Rfa

Hi Mark. I've reverted your Rfa transclusion because you had added your Rfa page incorrectly. At the same time, in my opinion, you should re-consider transcluding your Rfa. For example, the reasons you mention in your Rfa for wanting to be an admin (Que 1) have no relation to adminship. Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship would provide exhaustive inputs on what is expected of admin candidates. Feel free to ask me for any assistance. Thanks, Lourdes 14:06, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied why I want to be an admin in the question 1. I recommend to transclude my nomination request on the RFA page.--Mark Linton (talk) 14:10, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, you did. But, virtually everything you stated in your response to question 1 are things that any editor, even the newest editor making their first edit, can do without using any administrator tools. The only thing you indicated that had to do with administrator tools was "take corrective measures". This is, at best, vague. You have no experience in discussing problematic users, have never made a report to WP:AIV, have contributed to just one WP:AFD, and have never made a single warning to a vandal editor. In short, you have no experience that I can find in anything having to do with "corrective measures". So, why do you want to be an administrator? What tools in the administrator tool box do you feel you need to have to do things you can not do now? Once you've assessed that, then try to put yourself in the shoes of people trying to decide if you should have those tools; what about your experience would give them reason to believe you have such need and can be trusted with using the tools for that need? Right now, and I mean no harsh criticism here, you have not demonstrated this. You've been directed to Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. I recommend you read it carefully before considering attempting to transclude your RfA again. If you want to transclude your RfA, and can follow the instructions to do so, feel free to do so. However, there is zero chance it will pass at this time. I applaud your efforts on the project. None of this should be in any way interpreted that anyone thinks you are a bad editor. All the best, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:08, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Mark, If you do an RfA right now, I honestly don't think it will succeed. Have you read and fully understood WP:RFAADVICE? If you have, I suggest you take a look at WP:ORCP and decide to do a poll there first. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 15:13, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Just read your message on Lourdes's talkpage and came to say exactly what everyone else has - Your RFA will not succeed by a long mile and it'll probably be closed as NOTNOW after about an hour of it being open, As noted by Kudpung you need to read WP:RFAADVICE and I would go as far as to say you need to visit previous 2017/2016 RFAs to get a better understanding of how RFA is and what expectations us editors have. –Davey2010Talk 15:37, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add on some more advice, and please believe me when I say this is meant with the best of intentions. In 2008, you had a long series of images that were deleted under WP:CSD#F9 and WP:CSD#F6. No worries; that's all from 2008, and I think everyone would presume you've since learned more about our Wikipedia:Image use policy, and have since adjusted your editing. We all make mistakes; it's one of the best ways to learn. But, the only image you've uploaded since then was two months ago (File:Tetsuhiro Kuroda.jpg). Unfortunately, it too was speedily deleted for having a copyright issue. I raise this to encourage you to carefully read Wikipedia:Image use policy, and make sure that any future image uploads you make comply with that policy. We're all here for the same purpose; to build an encyclopedia. We'll be happy to help if you have a question, so ask away, most especially before you make another upload. Sometimes the policies here seem arcane, and having some help to navigate them is no shame. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:27, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • All I want is a bit support on the deletion attempt of the FMW 4th Anniversary Show and a list of relevant articles because some of your admins think that this is a "non-notable event" because "reliable sources" are not provided. A YouTube video link was provided as an independent source and sources of several books have also been provided but in such stress and circumstances where "delete tags" are being placed on articles, it is difficult for me to contribute and work hard on an article which I fear that may be deleted. Kindly assist me in keeping these articles and preventing the admins from deleting them because it was the biggest annual flagship event of Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling and there is no issue in keeping them. Instead, it will be useful and helpful for FMW and puroresu fans.--Mark Linton (talk) 16:36, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Hammersoft, I do not want to misuse my privileges as an admin. I am just asking for support. I have worked very hard on these articles and provided a lot of useful information which is obviously true and the YouTube links were provided just for those who were trying to delete them by considering them "vandal", "false" and "non-notable". That's it.--Mark Linton (talk) 21:14, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

I'm going to echo some of the previous comments on your talk page and say that opening a RFA is in no way going to help your cause in deletion discussions. Actually, the fact that you seem to think being an administrator will help keep your articles from getting deleted is going to make 100% of people oppose your nomination. You cannot use admin tools to advance your own articles.

I also want to give you some advice about deletion discussions, which was my original purpose for coming to your talk page. I suggest you read Wikipedia:Arguments to avoid in deletion discussions because thus far, every single argument you have given at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/FMW 4th Anniversary Show is listed on that page. You like it, you worked hard on it, it's useful....that's great, but those aren't reasons to keep an article. What are reasons? See WP:GNG. The subject of an article needs to have significant coverage in reliable independent sources. The FMW website does not count because it is a primary source. YouTube does not count because it isn't a reliable source. Cagematch, purolove, and the internet wrestling database have no criteria for inclusion, so they don't count because they do not demonstrate notability. Please provide legitimate news coverage, book sources, and articles from experts in the field.

I suggest you read the policies and guidelines I've linked above. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time making articles that are likely to be deleted. Nobody wants to see their hardwork go to waste, but until you become more familiar with this information you are at risk for just that. I hope this doesn't come of as rude or harsh, as I am genuinely trying to help you with your future article making. If you have any questions about reliable sourcing or notability criteria, you can ask me on my talk page. Good luck. Nikki311 23:47, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Old WCW PPVs

Mark, it appears that you have an interest in breaking out and expanding the old WCW pay-per-views. I too have been working on this. I recently broke out the Halloween Havoc, Fall Brawl, Slamboree, and WCW Uncensored individual shows. My expansion focused mostly on the event itself. I would appreciate it if you could put a second set of eyes on my expansion of them, and potentially add to them, like I saw you do with the Road Wild ones recently, and many others last year. Thanks! - GalatzTalk 17:12, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Galatz, its not just the case with WCW events but with the ECW pay-per-view events as well. I will definitely create and contribute to these articles and you can also contribute to them. If you want to contribute to the WCW pay-per-view events, which you just broke then these links [1] and [2] will be useful for them. You may use these links and I will also continue to edit and expand these articles. Thanks for breaking away some pay-per-view events.--Mark Linton (talk) 17:52, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I started with WCW, but I also plan to eventually work on the ECW, TNA, ROH and the European WWF ones that don't currently have the details. - GalatzTalk 18:18, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Background vs Storyline

I appreciate you expanding the article at SuperBrawl V‎, however please stop changing the Storyline header to Background. WP:PW/PPVG is clear that these should be storylines. Also just an FYI, per Template:Reflist you no longer need to put {{reflist|2}} or {{reflist|30em}}, just {{reflist}}. The 2 is depreciated and no longer splits them into 2 columns, and the 30em now happens automatically when needed. Thanks again! - GalatzTalk 17:07, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. You must not copy and paste text from sources you find on the web into articles as you did in the article Khilona (1996 film). I have removed the infringing text, but the material you copied is subject to copyright, as is almost everything on the web, and when creating or expanding articles, you should completely rewrite the information from the source using your own words. A tag has been placed on Sky Diving J requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Speed of Sounds moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Speed of Sounds, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Speed of Sounds

Hello, Mark Linton. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Speed of Sounds".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 23:38, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Kevin Owens. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Samoa Joe, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Kairi Sane, you may be blocked from editing. As I explained already. Not everyone is gonna know the name of the tag team if they don't follow the weekly show. A casual fan probably does not know who the Kabuki Warriors are. That is why "teaming with Asuka" is better. You also fail to explain why you are removing the "main roster" part of the heading. Again WP:BRD if you don't understand what's going on here. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jeevan Daata requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0284218/plotsummary. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

→ᴇmɑdıxTC 08:28, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Bollywood films of 1989, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mandakini (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:40, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
