Comment. Tricky, I think. Although Marsha Hunt (singer and novelist) has indeed also been an actress, it is far more likely that readers will recognise her as the Marsha Hunt who was also a singer and novelist (and model) than as someone who was born in 1946. I don't believe that her primary notability is as an actress, so it would not seem correct to have the word "actress" in her article title. On balance, I think the current article titles are preferable. Ghmyrtle (talk) 16:28, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

• Support move of Marsha Hunt (actress). Given that both Marsha Hunts were actresses, and neither is currently the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, the present title is incomplete disambiguation and needs to change. I don't believe Marsha Hunt (singer and novelist) is an effective disambiguator, but at least it distinguishes her from the other actress with her name.--Cúchullain ^t/c 14:23, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
  • On second thought, move Marsha Hunt (singer and novelist) to Marsha Hunt and delete the dab page. This is a WP:TWODABS situation and she's the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, receiving 66.7% of the page views. [1]--Cúchullain ^t/c 14:26, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
    • Disagree that the pageviews statistic demonstrates primarytopic. Marsha Hunt (actress born 1917) is clearly a more significant person. She wins on the statistic of incoming links, at 203 - 100.       • Well, I disagree that the actress born in 1917 is "clearly a more significant person". I also doubt recentism is much of a factor considering that the model/singer/writer/actor has been prominent for nearly 50 years. • Support per nom. Marsha Hunt (born 1946) is primarily notable and recognisable as being an actress. Not in favour of applying the WP:TWODABS situation, for unsure reasons, but if applied, support the older Hunt.   • Comment. For the record, it should be noted that Marsha Hunt (actress) (born 1917) has had an acting career which lasted about 75 years, from her first film in 1935 to her last in 2008. She has some 200 theatre, film and television credits with leading roles in the 1940s and 1950s, including on Broadway, as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The acting career of Marsha Hunt (singer and novelist)/writer/memoirist, on the other hand, has been almost entirely in the theatre, with only a handful of screen appearances, in some of which she has been billed as Marsha A. Hunt, all of which featuring her in small or bit parts, with not a single starring role or even a major supporting credit. While she did became a member of the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, there is also no indication of a long list of theatrical credits. With all due respect to her talent and life stages as a model, singer, writer, editor and social activist, the performing career that she did have, does not seem to indicate that "(actress)" would be her primary description. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 02:46, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

    • Although I posted no words on it, I agonised a little on "singer and novelist" vs "actress" etc. I almost suggested "entertainer", but hesitated as it didn't fit with "novelist" and "Relationship with Mick Jagger" as other bigger claims to notability. She defies any single primary description. Disambiguating by occupation is always a big problem for people with no single-most occupation. I decided to be happy with "actress" because it looks like the first sources attesting notability were associated with acting. The younger person could be left at Marsha Hunt (singer and novelist), but I do think the older needs the additional disambiguation of birth year. The additional disambiguation "born 1917" will assist in recognizability. Much less so for the younger subject.

I think difficulty in assigning a single primary description, or even a simple description, should not be allowed in contribute to pushing the subject to primarytopic status. I don't know whether Cúchullain was affected by that, but I was and am actively resisting it. I might prefer Marsha Hunt (writer and performer). --SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:24, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

A most reasonable compromise. Given the opportunity, I would support your proposals for both performers, with "(writer and performer)" likewise preferred and "(singer and novelist)" also acceptable. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 06:04, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

"Novelist" isn't a good disambiguator for the other Hunt, whose writing career is as or more known for her non-fiction books. "(writer and performer)" would be okay as it does seem to cover most of what she's known for.---Cúchullain ^t/c 15:00, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

• Support – Per WP:NCPDAB, this should be preferred over something like "singer and actress", which is not even mentioned there. However, there should be a comma between the two qualifiers, so Marsha Hunt (actress, born 1917) and Marsha Hunt (actress, born 1946). – nyuszika7h (talk) 14:37, 13 October 2016 (UTC)
