:It's not AHJ but it is a user who has edited before. I'm not sure if they were blocked for sockpuppetry or indeffed blocked but if memory serves me, I believe this user has been blocked before. I just can't quite point my finger who this is, but they are definitely not new. <span style="font-family:Calibri;font-size:14px"><b><font color="#4682B4">[[User:Elockid|Elockid]]</font></b></span> (<font color="#99BADD">[[User talk:Elockid|Talk]]</font>) 12:49, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

persistent sockpuppeter is back

An editor previously blocked by you named "JJJNosay" [1] is back as "Abdelrahman93" [2], edits from both accounts are nearly identical, compare [3] with [4] and [5]. Almasur (talk) 01:48, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked. Apologies for the wait. Elockid (Talk) 23:44, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Elockid, can you please move this one? Jaqeli (talk) 22:18, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jaqeli

Jaqeli (talk · contribs) has reverted to their old edit warring in their changes tactic, even after the 1RR discussion you had with them. Clearly the Standard Offer has failed. CMD (talk) 12:39, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:EW. Jaqeli (talk) 13:21, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, Jaqeli is engaging in edit-warring again on Bagrationi dynasty-related articles, as I reported to you here and he is in full and open defiance of his commitment not to do so. Please follow up on your prior commitment to correct this pattern of behavior. FactStraight (talk) 06:30, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Elockid you can see that it is quite the contrary as he's the one who edit wars. Please see this here. His edits are very disruptive and please do everything possible for him to stop edit warring. He was warned to not edit war but still he's ignoring it so far. Jaqeli (talk) 06:55, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I warned both Jaqeli and FactStraight last night (see User talk:Richwales#User:FactStraight and User talk:FactStraight#Content disputes at Giorgi Bagrationi (born 2011) and related articles) that edit-warring is not acceptable as a way of handling a content dispute, even if an editor is convinced he is right and others are wrong. They may not like what I said and may be upset at me for not upholding the obviously correct side in this dispute, but that's not what admins are supposed to do. I've had a lot of contact over time with Jaqeli (formerly GeorgianJorjadze), but none with FactStraight until now. I've also done some editing and content discussion in the past in various articles pertaining to Georgia, so I am probably too "involved" by now to take any admin action here. If you have a wider experience with both Jaqeli and FactStraight and feel more comfortable handling this latest spat, please be my guest. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 17:35, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have requested uninvolved admin attention to this issue at WP:ANI. — Richwales (no relation to Jimbo) 16:44, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Chipmunkdavis

Chipmunkdavis (talk · contribs) is reverting all my edits on the Georgia (country) and History of Georgia (country) articles and is trying to own the article and dismisses all my edits. Please do everything possible to protect the article from further disruption from this user. Jaqeli (talk) 12:44, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:BRD. CMD (talk) 12:47, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved it but the talk page remained the same as it was so please move this one also. Thanks. Jaqeli (talk) 14:03, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done, as well as the one above. Elockid (Talk) 23:48, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

New section

Hey Elockid!

I have one problem and I hope that you can help with it as you have rights to view removed pages.

There was an article about King Crimson's song "I talk to the wind", but for some reason it was removed. There was some information that i needed in that article. It was information about flute solo - the style and the type of flute. I want start learning to play on that instrument and I want to use the type of flute from that song. But I can't find that information anywhere in web now. Could you please copy and paste that peace of article for me here, or send to al.pomirkovany@gmail.com? Thanks!

It still seems to be there. I can't seem to find any logs of deletion. Could you please give me some more info? Elockid (Talk) 23:54, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Right now if you enter "I talk to the wind" into search bar, system redirect you to the page for "In the Court of the Crimson King". And now there is no link to that song in the list of songs (it used to be there), but there are links to other songs.

Unblock request

The user ProgVal has requested an IP unblock, relating to a webhost range block which you placed. The block log is here. Perhaps you could look at it and decide whether there is a case for an unblock or IPBE. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:02, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The user emailed me about it and am currently discussing it with them. Elockid (Talk) 23:39, 11 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-admin closure of AfD

I just speedily closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Pomodoro Technique software as non-admin because the page has already been deleted through speedy deletion and the AfD was not updated. I only realized afterwards that because I am one of the group of people that reverted the article creator's disruptive editing (constant removal of AfD and CSD templates after various warnings, for which the user was blocked for a period of 24 hours), I might count as too involved despite this essentially being housekeeping. I'd appreciate it if you could take a look over it and see if you agree with my closure--and my apologies for only realizing I might count as involved after closing the thing. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 03:24, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the closure. There's really no point in keeping it open since the article is deleted. There's a couple of procedural templates that are put though. Do you want me to handle this? Elockid (Talk) 03:29, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please. I stopped half-way the moment I realized I might be too involved. Figured I'd better get a second opinion first, deal with it later, than do all of it and poke an admin afterwards. However, if you could do it, that would be better--considering the fact that I'd have to triple-check to make sure I didn't miss something, whereas I'd dare bet you're a lot more experienced with it. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 03:34, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And done. Elockid (Talk) 03:40, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your time. I appreciate it. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 03:42, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Feel free to message me anytime. Elockid (Talk) 03:44, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

move

Hello Elockid. Can you please move these? Thank you. Jaqeli (talk) 11:03, 18 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think these can be moved without admin help. Elockid (Talk) 00:47, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
These are the categories and users cannot move categories so can you please move them? Jaqeli (talk) 10:26, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Bobrayner keeps removing massive sourced content...

... that he claims does not have a good enough source, but which has not been objected to for nearly 2 years until he came along: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Global_city&diff=592681137&oldid=592637232 As can be seen from the article's Revision history (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Global_city&action=history), he's done it at least 4 times. I've tried to talk to him about it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Global_city#The_Economist), but he seems determined to keep removing it until someone powerful enough stops him. - Ujongbakuto (talk) 00:27, 28 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Technically speaking, regarding this edit summary, consensus can change. No one objecting for 2 years doesn't really hold as an argument. Do you have any diffs that support users supporting that content? Elockid (Talk) 01:03, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. JJ Weeks Band

I tried to create a page for the JJ Weeks Band and I believe that you deleted siting A7. I believe that this might be in error because this band is signed to inpop records and actually holds a top 10 song today on the christian inspirational charts (http://cclamp.radioandrecords.com/rrwebsite20/members/Charts.aspx?ChartId=23), top 20 song on the hot christian Billboard charts (http://www.billboard.com/charts/christian-songs?page=1) and a few others. The band also has to songs featured in the movie coming out on March 21 titled "God's Not Dead" (http://www.capitolchristiandistribution.com/products/new_releases_detail.aspx?bid=27625&iid=2010296&bname=March+4%2C+2014+Street+Date+(2%2F17+ship+date). Please if I have done something incorrect let me know. 70.184.3.71 (talk) 18:04, 4 February 2014 (UTC)Chris[reply]

The article never stated any of their accomplishments. Here is a copy of what was written:
The JJ Weeks Band, based in Macon GA, have toured extensively and released three independent projects. Each of the guys have been involved in ministry in some capacity since childhood. Whether singing solos, performing in church musicals, or leading worship, music and ministry have always gone hand in hand. That heart for ministry led Weeks to step out in faith and push for a career in music full-time. Shortly thereafter there talents joined together to create the JJ Weeks Band and consisted of David Hart Bass, Robbie Fritz Drums, Cody Preston Guitar, JJ Weeks Vocal.

Stating something like they have a top 20 song would have established their notability. I can userfy the page for you if you want. Elockid (Talk) 01:09, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also there were no sources on that page. The only link on the article was the band's website. Others may have perceived this as a promotional attempt. For future reference, add sources to the articles. Elockid (Talk) 01:12, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There were reverts; extend PC time? --George Ho (talk) 05:06, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

174.236.0.0/16 blocks

Could you reveal why you made 2 blocks on this range late last year? I'm currently dealing with vandalism coming out of it.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 07:22, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The user above has been persistently reverting my comments and edits. I reverted an edit by this user for uncited content on an article. He later cited sources but I am concerned about his suspicions. I understand IP users usually are found vandalizing the site but this is ridiculous. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.236.68.115 (talk) 07:39, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The issue in question is being discussed at WT:AFD. 174.236.68.115 (talk) 08:45, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Given the pages they've edited it's blatant block evasion by at least one of them so I've blocked for a few days. Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 08:52, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for handling this during my absence. Elockid (Talk) 14:00, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Massive 12bit 4,096 IP Address Block

Hi there :) Sorry to bother you but your massive block of the 173.255.128.0/20 subnet has caught within it one of OctaneVPNs Private, Pay only, Dallas, TX, US VPN servers at 173.255.139.216. It is my understanding that Private VPN traffic is encouraged and that more encrypted traffic benefits us all, so I would be greatly appreciative if you could unblock this address and even more appreciative if you or another admin could check the rest of their servers listed at http://www.octanevpn.com/server-locations.html - this is the second blocked IP I have hit this week, and being severely disabled it is not something i can check and address properly, even addressing the ones i find is painful to say the least. I suspect these have been caught in old blocks prior to OctaneVPN expansion into them, and I greatly appreciate your help both in protecting us in the first instance and in addressing this issue in future. Thank you for your help :) Myco Mycosys (talk) 02:10, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the wait but anyways I only block VPNs if they were used abusively. The reasons being are that they are being used by Chinese spammers or they were used by sockpuppeteers. If you qualify for IPBE, then I may grant it to you. Is there a reason why you're using a VPN (this will help if you want to have IPBE). Elockid (Talk) 14:03, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Same MO, edits to get autoconfirmed, then back to editing old favorites edited by many of his previous socks, History of Israel (e.g. User:Crandmeipait, User:SILtmediaup...too many to list), Israel Defense Forces (e.g. User:Elirhann Oraz89, User:Michael Zeev), Gaza flotilla raid (e.g. User:Michael Zeev), Timeline of Operation Pillar of Defense (e.g. User:IranitGreenberg), Iran–Israel proxy conflict (e.g. User:HammerKinFan, User:Elirhann Oraz89). IPv6 Rangeblock Request

Could you do a range block on the following ranges/accounts: User:2601:A:3680:6:64FD:8EF:6C57:F75D and User:2601:a:3680:6:23ee:322d:ac56:a151. The user running these accounts is a sockpuppet of indef-blocked user User:Zimmermanh1997. Zimmermanh1997 has a to his name.

The user has, just recently, began using IPv6 IPs, previously using "regular IPs". I'm hoping this will make it easier to block him without any collateral damage. - NeutralhomerTalk • 23:42, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

/64 range hardblocked six months. The only collateral for /64 Comcast ranges would be from their household. Elockid (Talk) 23:46, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

He is not socking under the IPs of 108.94.64.165, 195.46.243.118, 175.106.48.196, 5.236.189.163, and 79.127.71.98. 2602:306:ce9a:860:c4ac:1d67:47a9:1d59 is spreading lies and socking under various weird strings of numbers, all coming from Richardson, TX, and you actually believe that Joeyjoejoeman is back and vandalizing Wikipedia. Those edits on Reno, NV TV pages were not sock/vandal. 107.161.16.205 (talk) 16:26, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the whole Spanish thing.

Hi Elockid thanks for editing the Spanish language article. My friends got on and edited it but I thought he didn't save the changes. Sorry about that :)

No need to worry about that. Elockid (Talk) 23:26, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please block him for expiry set of indefinite? He did changed the genre without citation and source, and personal attack. 183.171.179.204 (talk) 03:47, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked the account for 31 hours. Unless the account's sole purpose is to make bad faith edits, then an indefinite block may be an option. However, I'm not an expert in the subject area they are editing on, so I can't definitively say that they are here to solely cause disruption. Hopefully this block will be a wake-up call. Elockid (Talk) 03:57, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Elockid. I see that User:Hiefer Kabalarian has been tagged as a sockpuppet of User:AndresHerutJaim. Since you are the one who indefinitely blocked User:Hiefer Kabalarian, I ask is it your finding that User:Hiefer Kabalarian is User:AndresHerutJaim, or did you block User:AndresHerutJaim because he is tied to a different registered account? Flyer22 (talk) 07:46, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, I blocked Heifer Kabalarian as a sock of AHJ. Elockid (Talk) 14:30, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the confirmation. I didn't see a recent sockpuppet case on that user and so I wondered. I'm not familiar with that user or his sockpuppets (other than having come across the User:Hiefer Kabalarian account), and I wondered if maybe he (as User:Hiefer Kabalarian) is the sockpuppet of a different editor that I'm familiar with. Thanks again. Flyer22 (talk) 15:48, 28 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elockid

Hello Elockid,

Can you please move these categories for me? Users cannot move the categories and can you help?

Thanks. Jaqeli (talk) 17:21, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently I can't move Categories either. I can only move the talk pages of the corresponding Category though. :( Elockid (Talk) 17:27, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What would you suggest? Are there any kind of move requests possible for categories to be moved? And where should I post that request? Jaqeli (talk) 19:18, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would try HotCat. Elockid (Talk) 00:23, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And can you for example delete the categories? I will create the new categories and could you delete the older ones? Jaqeli (talk) 00:36, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can delete the categories once their empty. Elockid (Talk) 00:40, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll sort them out first and let you know when they're empty to delete them. Thanks. Jaqeli (talk) 00:41, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Elockid, these three are now empty. Please delete them. Jaqeli (talk) 12:34, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

 Done. Elockid (Talk) 13:29, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious proxies

These IP addresses ([7] and [8] appear to be from proxy servers. They have been doing very nonconstructive and dispruptive edits. As far as I know, such proxy server IPs must be blocked immediately. Étienne Dolet (talk) 05:16, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you getting the information that those are proxies? Elockid (Talk) 13:26, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
[9] Please see under Services. Étienne Dolet (talk) 17:45, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've been told that how they determine proxies is incorrect. While it looks like they've got some correct, there have been occasions where they haven't and this looks like the case. Elockid (Talk) 02:25, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious activity

Dear Sir. I think I am one of the contributors using one or another of the above mentioned lines at times. I am not so profoundly knowledgeable about Wikipedia's procedures but I believe revealing personal information about others is a breach of privacy and should be impeded. Moreover, I assume, if there is a possibility, this violation should be sanctioned. Thank you very much. --212.174.190.23 (talk) 13:41, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Though there is an outing policy, I don't think that this would apply here. Since you have been editing from an IP, your location can be more easily determined. Elockid (Talk) 02:27, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request - UTRS

Hey Elockid,

When you have a moment could you take a look at UTRS #10595 regarding this proxy block? Cheers,--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 22:21, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

AmirSurfLera/AndresHerutJaim

Hi, Special:Contributions/AmirSurfLera looks like it could be another another AndresHerutJaim sock editing the same articles as previous socks e.g.[10][11][12]. Sean.hoyland - talk 05:41, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not AHJ but it is a user who has edited before. I'm not sure if they were blocked for sockpuppetry or indeffed blocked but if memory serves me, I believe this user has been blocked before. I just can't quite point my finger who this is, but they are definitely not new. Elockid (Talk) 12:49, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
