All good

No problem mate, yeah absolutely excited for Vic's fight, with Alvarez-Cintron, Wlodarczyk-Green, Darchinyan-Moreno, Agbeko-Mares 2, Cotto-Margarito 2, Klitschko-Mormeck and Froch-Ward comming up, i can't remember a end of year program being topped off with so many consistently good fights on a weekly basis, soooo pumped!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aussieswimmer (talkcontribs) 01:17, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Alvarez by TKO I'm really getting the bandwagon with him since his last few fights, Green by decision in a epic war. Darchinyan by a wide points decision, as good as Moreno is, he's struggled with Monshipour and Cermeno so i figure Vic can go one better than them. Mares all the way, Agbeko is tuff but i get a feeling Mares is on the way up and Agbeko is one the way out. I'm pulling for Cotto but i'm worried me may not be able to hold off Margarito's aggression, if he boxes a disciplined fight and only occasional exchanges with him, then he can get revenge. Klitschko maybe gets easiest win of the last 5 years. And Froch-Ward, i keep going back and forth. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aussieswimmer (talkcontribs) 03:13, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

== Slight mistake with evander's reign Evander's longest reign (3 years) was actually his 3rd reign. For that title reign he just had wba, ibf, ring, He had the wbc in his first heavyweight reign, If we applied former titles for multiple reigns the table would be a giant unreadable mess. I could put former ibf if that's puts a but more clarity, no hard feelings, just following the way the table was created. god bless — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aussieswimmer (talkcontribs) 02:03, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

September 2011

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Tommy Gunn, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Kubigula (talk) 22:02, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't trying to replace it with blank content, I was trying to make the article about the actual fictional character Tommy Gunn so it didn't have to redirect to Rocky V. Can I still do that? I won't accidently erase the page this time. Sorry about that. TheShadowCrow (talk) 22:11, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Vic Darchinyan .jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

License tagging for File:325px-LaMotta Joey.jpg

a note

Please refrain from personal attacks even if the other user is blocked and causing trouble.[1][2]]. If you can't keep your cool, wait for others to revert for what on the face on it are often style changes, avoiding thus the impression that you're personally out to enforce them. Just an example: Here, you're just reverting thus defending a fluffy and poorly sourced statement with an inappropriate edit summery.[3] Thanks.--Tikiwont (talk) 21:23, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't think I'm being tricked. He has been edit warring and harassing you so he stays rightly indefinitely blocked and may indeed be banned permanently if they don't sop socking. I spent also part of my my time here assuring that. Please check out the relevant terms as you're confusing them. I was just curious if I see a glimmer of reason on their side.
Anyways and regardless of the quality of your contributions that I do not want to evaluate, but which we certainly don't measure byte by byte, if they're good others will agree. But your rights to edit do not include that to personal attacks in edit summaries. In short, my post above was referring only to you and only for you as I expect you to do better. The next content or style dispute will come up, some troll will show up or find an free IP or open proxy etc.--Tikiwont (talk) 09:04, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Juan Manuel Márquez. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. This also applies to comments in the article edit summary. Zarcadia (talk) 00:14, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Many edits by UkBoxen change caps in Super Middleweight, etc. I understand that the weight categories should be lowcase, but titles might be capped (?). Is there a guideline on that? A tag has been placed on File:325px-LaMotta Joey.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. February 2012

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Archie Moore, makes articles harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. You were told before that adding flags to acticles is a violation of MOS:FLAG. Arguing that they exist in other pages is not a justification to violate the MOS. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 02:11, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Jean Pascal. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Warned previously because of the same. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 02:11, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No personal attacks

Hey,

I came to thank you for your valuable edits to Vitali Klitschko. And also to remind you that you must avoid any personal attacks on fellow users - such as the unexcusable summary to your recent edit. Happy edits, Ukrained (talk) 21:42, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am doing nothing wrong. I am just reverting a vandal's work. He is swearing at me and I haven't back. You should be telling me this and banning him. --TheShadowCrow (talk) 21:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, you're doing everything wrong. You're eagerly returning insults. And, by doing this, you are exaggerating suspicions that your referenced edits are not that neutral;) which I believe are. As for the other guy, he's going to be blocked in a matter of hours as a personal-attacking anon. The only question is: will YOU be as well? Stay cool, Ukrained (talk) 21:55, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On a somewhat related note, I've issued a rangeblock against that the editor said comment was directed at. They're evading a block on an account on a number of IP addresses, so hopefully this will at least slow them down a bit. Hersfold (t/a/c) 21:45, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Flag Icons

Hi. Could you please read;

Then, if you have any thoughts on my edits you can address them constructively and from an informed position. Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:42, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I see that your use of flags has already been pointed out to you as being in violation of the manual of style. Perhaps you could explain why it doesn't apply in these cases? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:46, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with the flags is that they are distractive icons that shouldn't be used. Of course people will recognize the Flag of the US or Canada, but would you recognize Federated States of Micronesia or Eswatini? The flags are unneeded nationalisms that were forbidden from many infoboxes, and at the Infobox boxer or MMA event should apply as well. The "other article has it" argument is vague, it is in another article because somebody believe that it was correct as s/he saw it in another article. A common example is the "see release history" link that appears in many musical-related articles. WP:IBX states that these internal links shouldn't be used as the WP:TOC exists. The real thing to do is reach a consensus to remove all flags from infoboxes, as boxers aren't national teams or countries, where the flags are more relevant. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 00:59, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is not that bad. but neither that OK. The real place where you should be discussing this is either WT:MOS or Template talk:Infobox boxer. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 01:27, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring adn attacks

You've been warned above again on personal attacks but you also need to refrain form edit warring: An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Ukboxen edits are not exempt because they are not banned but blocked indefinitely and you still revert before accounts are blocked and tagged accordingly. I think I asked you to review WP:BLOCK, WP:BAN and WP:3rr in the past, in any case do so now.

The exceptions would be actions performed by banned users, their sockpuppets and by tagged sockpuppets of indefinitely blocked. This needs to be interpreted in your case narrowly as you feed the fire with your own attacks, underline repeatedly that you haven't been blocked yet and revert other users as well. Here you revert as with the exception of the flagicon...[4].

In other word, you should not claim exceptions from the three revert rule unless a third party has tagged that account, in which case they will often block and revert. If you continue to do multiple reverts yourself or leash out with attacks before reporting the issue to the relevant boards, you are part of the problem and next time you'll be blocked.

A lot of activity has been gone into keeping that guy off the pages and your back, and I understand that it is frustrating but the page histories for some boxers are now a disgrace, so yes, this is a final warning for you: Do not edit war, do not issue any other attack. Don't even call content edits by a blocked user vandalism. If you can't do that move them from your watch list. Thanks --Tikiwont (talk) 20:48, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Klitschko's

Well, Vitali is gonna retire this year, so i only think he has one or two fights left. So I dont see the sense in making sections all the time. His career is ending soon, so i think it is right to make a final section, just like on Mike Tyson's & and Lennox Lewis' articles.

IF Wladimir wins the WBC, then I agree we have to make an new section called Unidsputed Heavyweight Champion. But his fights in 2012 are not going to be any significant. Fight against Mormeck, rematch vs. Tony Thompsons and then maybe Arreola?. Well I think it is best it just called After Haye. Because it really tells what happened after his fight with Haye.

Cheers David-golota David-golota (talk) 18:45, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well yeah, but just because other P4p boxers have many more sections, dosent make the article look better, only worse.

Look at Mike Tyson article. He dosent have so many articles and is clearly the most infamous boxer ever.

I think it only makes the articles looks worse and ugly with so many sections.

Look at the Sosnowski and Johnso sections. They are so short. It looks stupid.

The Manual of Style has guidelines against many of the links you are adding. See: WP:Overlink, specifically:"Generally, a link should appear only once in an article" and "Avoid linking the names of major ... locations."

There are also problems with link specificity (see WP:SPECIFICLINK) and unnecessary use of piped links.

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Haye

David Haye fills alot. Very much. He brought the exciment and attention back to the heavyweight divison. Media hype and all the old great stuff back. He is Wladimirs rival. And Wladimir never really had an rival like Ali or Tyson had. That is why Haye is so "important".

Cheers mate

Michael Katsidis

Could you please provide an edit summary when you've made changes? You've made a lot of minor edits to this article, but at no point have you explained what you've changed, or why. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 14:40, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization

Hi. With regard to the Tyson article, I wanted to ask about this sentence:

"He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold and only Heavyweight to individually unify the WBA, WBC and IBF titles."

Why do you have one use of the word "heavyweight" in lowercase and the other capitalized in the same sentence? For a casual reader like me, this just looks odd. -- James26 (talk) 00:39, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing. Thanks. -- James26 (talk) 01:38, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Andre Ward

Dear User:TheShadowCrow, please see the comments I have added on the Talk:Andre Ward page. I'm not targeting anyone's edits in particular, and certainly not yours. You are welcome to add sources to verify your assessments. But without references, it often happens that opinions and descriptive comments fall short of WP:BLP guidelines. In my view (and I'm only one person and I may be wrong) some of this page did that. Please let me quote from those guidelines:

If you really want to replace all that commenary, I assure you I won't delete it again. I've never been in an edit war, and I don't want one now. I just encourage the full referencing of articles. By the way, if you were referring to my edits, I can assure you that the lineal stuff is not mine. Regards.GorgeCustersSabre (talk) 15:37, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. The fact that I put "back" then lineal stuff that you hated so much does not mean that I agreed with it either. You and I are not the only editors on that page. Someone else clearly wanted to add that lineal section. As I said above, I don't intend to get into edit wars even with people who make pages worse or violate Wikipedia guidelines. Best wishes.GorgeCustersSabre (talk) 14:18, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
