Personal life

Gerber has stated that she observes some Jewish holidays such as Passover and Yom Kippur. Her family has a Passover seder each year, and her mother, Cindy Crawford has stated they do not observe Chanukah,[42] but she prepares a brisket from a recipe given to her by Gerber's paternal grandmother and which she calls a shiksa brisket.[43] She also celebrates Chrismukkah, which draws from traditions of Christmas and Hanukkah. In a 2018 interview, when asked about her relationship with Judaism (as her father is Jewish), and her level of religious observance or lack thereof, she said "Yeah, my dad is Jewish and my mom is Christian so we grew up doing both; we call it Christmas Chrismukah. I love learning about both of those sides of my life. We’d do Passover, Passover dinner and Yom Kippur. I love learning all of that, and learning the cooking".[44]
