Bagaha is a city and a municipality in Pashchim Champaran district in the state of Bihar, India. It is a subdivision of Pashchim Champaran district and is a Police District. It is located around 64 kilometres (40 mi) northwest of its district headquarters Bettiah. It is 294 km away from Bihar's state capital Patna.
Demographics
As of 2011[update] India census,[2] Bagaha had a population of 112,634. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bagaha has an average literacy rate of 38%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 66% of the males and 34% of females literate. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bagaha is located on the bank of River Gandak and near the Valmiki Tiger Reserve.
