An untitled Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film is an upcoming American science fiction crossover action film based on Hasbro's toy lines Transformers and G.I. Joe.

A crossover between both Hasbro properties have been discussed before, but Paramount Pictures had been against it for years as they weren't ready for the idea.

On March 28, 2013, during the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that he was open to doing a G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover.[1] On July 26, 2013, G.I. Joe: Retaliation director Jon M. Chu stated that he was also interested in directing a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film.[2] Despite di Bonaventura having previously stated on June 23, 2014 that a crossover was not likely to happen,[3] he later reassured that a crossover was still a possibility.[4]

In January 2017, D.J. Caruso revealed that a previous draft of the script for the in development G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant ended with the introduction of the Transformers. This was not approved by Paramount Pictures.[5][6] di Bonaventura explained that Paramount was hesitant to green-light production on the crossover, though he did state that the project was "inevitable".[7][8]

Development

In April 2024, during CinemaCon, Paramount officially announced a crossover film between Transformers and G.I. Joe.[9] In June 2024, it was announced that Derek Connolly would write the script.[10]

Casting

In July 2021, Henry Golding expressed interest in doing the crossover, after portraying Snake Eyes in the 2021 film.[11] In May 2024, Chris Hemsworth was in talks to star in the film, after previously voicing Optimus Prime in Transformers One (2024).[12]
