KXOF-CD digital channel 39.1 is a low powered Fox affiliate in Laredo, Texas, owned by Entravision Communications. KXOF also airs MyNetworkTV programming. KXOF can also be seen on KETF-CD subchannel 31.2. KXOF produces Laredo Fox News, launched on April 9, 2012. The newscast airs Monday through Friday at 9 pm. KXOF is also an Azteca America affiliate and transmits its programming on digital subchannel 39.2.

History

Under the ownership of "Aracelia Ortiz, Executrix of the Estate Of Carlos Ortiz" (co-founders of La Familia Network and Fe-TV), it broadcast programming from TBN Enlace USA 24 hours a day, as KNEZ-CA. In March 2007, the station was acquired by Entravision Communications Corporation, owners of KLDO-TV and KETF-CD, with the intent to affiliate the station with the Fox network. In July 2007 Entravision changed the station's callsign to KXOF and began to air Fox programming.

Laredo did not have a Fox affiliated station since 2002, when the network was carried on XHFTX-TV (now XHLAR-TV, a secondary Televisa affiliate). Between 2002 and 2007, Laredo could only receive Fox programming on Time Warner Cable through San Antonio's KABB.

On August 1, 2012 KXOF shutdown its analog signal and started broadcasting Fox in high definition on virtual channel 39.1 and MundoFox in standard definition virtual channel 39.2. MundoFox, which rebranded to MundoMax in 2015, shut down November 30, 2016. In February 2017, KXOF-CD began to carry Azteca America on 39.2; prior to this affiliation, Azteca America was seen in the market solely through carriage of the network's national feed on Time Warner Cable.[1]
