Kunzer (Hindi: कुन्ज़ेर) is a Tehsil and a Municipal committee in Baramulla District in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.It has recently turned into an educational and business hub.

Geography

Kunzer is located at 34°05′N 74°30′E / 34.09°N 74.50°E / 34.09; 74.50.[1] It has an average elevation of 1,761 metres (5,778 feet).

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Kunzer had a population of 1901. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Kunzer has an average literacy rate of 46%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 62%, and female literacy is 30%. In Kunzer, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.It is having one Govt. Higher Secondary school, Govt High school, Mohammadia High School, Hamdania Public school, Allama Iqbal high school and various govt. middle and primary schools.
