Majid Jowhari (Persian: مجید جوهری) is a Canadian Liberal politician, who was elected to represent the riding of Richmond Hill in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election.[1][2]

Jowhari attended Ryerson University, earning a Bachelor of Technology in industrial engineering, and York University's Schulich School of Business, where he earned an MBA. He founded his own boutique consulting firm to provide advice to chief financial officers.[3]

Jowhari was elected as the Liberal Party's candidate in Richmond Hill on September 7, 2014, and became the first federal party nominee of Iranian heritage.[4] He was elected to the seat in the October 19, 2015 election, narrowly defeating Conservative candidate Michael Parsa.[1]

Jowhari apologized on November 14, 2016 for incorrectly selling himself to voters as a professional engineer during the 2015 federal election campaign.[5]
