Three things need to be mentioned here:

  • The banning of pro-Palestine protests in France was an important part of the background.
  • The BBC report quoting Cukierman "Death to the Jews" etc.
  • Investigation from Mediapart of this incident, including the above claim here translation available here.

I do not know how to edit Wiki, so hopefully an editor will look at this issue? In Background we read: "However, after having given an unusually direct support to Israël,[7]" The link at #7, however, goes to a statement from the French government CONDEMNING the bombing of Gaza, and calling for restraint. This is the exact opposite of the case being made in the narrative, and goes to the alleged reason for the protest. The claim is that Palestine sympathizers rioted because of the French government's support for Israel (and more specifically, the bombing of Gaza). But this is refuted by the French government's statement (linked at #7) condemning the Israeli attack on Gaza. The link doesn't support the statement made in the Wiki text, it repudiates it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.217.6.107 (talk) 02:46, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

POV

[edit]

The POV in this article is overwhelming. In the above discussion this has already been mentioned, but so far nothing has been done with it. The article clearly needs more & better sources, and contributors willing and able to rewrite the article. 2001:808:E002:A:0:0:0:E632 (talk) 17:03, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
