@PC78: I would too, but it's received international coverage (not just domestic) so it might pass WP:NCRIME at a pinch. However, McCarthy does not meet WP:VICTIM, so the article is best focused on the crime itself (yes, this proposal entails a rewrite). – Teratix₵ 23:48, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose (somewhat reluctantly): Normally, I would be in favour of such a suggestion, but the article is much more focused on what happened to Ms Brady McCarthy than on what happened to the baby, and that also seems true of the cited sources. Many more people are likely to be familiar with the name of the woman than the name of the child. Of the 12 sources cited in the article, all of them mention the nanny in their titles, eight of them have the nanny's name in their titles, and only one of them (which is a dead link) explicitly refers to the baby in the title, and none of them have the name of the baby in the title. The Louise Woodward case has strong similarities and is referred to in this article, and it is also named after the accused nanny rather than after the dead child. —BarrelProof (talk) 22:32, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. There were two tragedies here, but more informative is what happened to the nanny, and much of the notability (sorry) surrounds the case as pursued, again surrounding the nanny. The mention of WP:BLP1E does merit attention, but while an AfD would make the problem go away, I'd then be looking for an article around the whole subject of misdirected/mismanaged prosecutions to have a mention of this event inserted there.
Oh dear, only one other articlelinks to here? And that article Gerard Leone has a WP:BLP1E whiff about it also. I'm really thinking AfD for both articles is appropriate, as long as this sorry incident gets acknowledged somehow under the general problem subject. Shenme (talk) 20:59, 9 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
