"Free Agent"

As of today, he is still under contract with Maccabi, he is not really a free agent.

According to the contract, he has an exit option to the NBA and Maccabi allowed him to train for the draft, but he is still under contract and if he does not Selected in the draft then he is committed to Maccabi and if He was selected for the draft Maccabi will receive compensation for him. שי אוזן (talk) 21:50, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Removal of Controversial Content

Good Day,

I came across this Article about Deni Avdija and got interested into reading it. While doing so, I found a quiet controversial part in the "Personal Life" section.

"In the 2020 NBA draft interview, Avdija stated that his father is from Kosovo, Serbia, appearing with an Israel–Serbia flags pin on the lapel of his suit jacket."

The subject about the Status of Kosovo (see Recognition of Kosovo) is a controversial topic and should not have a place in a Neutral minded Wikipedia.

Please share you view about it.

It seems that Avdija believes Kosovo is part of Serbia, and has made a public demonstration of that. Nothing in this means that because there is well documented controversy about the status of Kosovo then we should not public figure s making overt statements about their beliefs.Pipsally (talk) 19:12, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

-Indeed they are. But those "controversial views" shouldnt be reflected thru Wikipedia.

I dont have anything against his Point of View. I am just looking forward, that Wikipedia stays as neutral on the topic as possible.

It is Wikipedia reflecting his opinion. Which is not neutral, but controversial.

@Elserbio00: How so? You seem to ignore my comments. Please read them again, than you will surely understand the problem. I will just guess because of your revision history and your name, that you support his view point (if not true, ignore my comment), which I of course respect, but such a view point is quiet controversial because many have other thoughts and might feel offended thru it. So such controversial views shouldnt be reflected thru wikipedia. Wikipedia is a neutral information giver.

• @InNeed95: I am sorry, however, I really don't understand the problem with this paragraph, except your claim that Avdija's thoughts "might offend" someone. The Problem is not about his Badge. Its about claiming Kosovo as Serbian. Which is a controversial topic (see Recognition of Kosovo).

We can let the part about his Badge in. I have no reason to be against it. (I am sorry for the misunderstanding. It seems like I copied to much.)

Great job on this article

It's not perfect, I think the personal life and early life sections have some duplication, but...there are a lot of ways I think this article could have spiralled out into hotly-contested drivel, and instead it's a strong article. Kudos to those involved. Babajobu (talk) 14:24, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
