Family's statement about politicization

[edit]

What's with the Republican talking points added to the end of the article criticizing the family's statement about politicization? no facts, no citations, and no value. 68.38.20.93 (talk) 22:41, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What are you even talking about?Bjohns81 (talk) 15:35, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV

[edit]

The line "despite research showing that undocumented immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than native-born Americans." violates NPOV and serves to let the article argue a political point, instead of just letting the relevant parties make the statements. It should be removed. 2601:201:8C01:E2F0:AC81:2CE3:6486:EE4 (talk) 18:58, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to try to have a discussion about it. The quote has three citations to reliable sources. The link given in the material you want to remove has some 10 inline citations: Illegal_immigration_to_the_United_States#Relationship_between_illegal_immigration_and_crime.
Wikipedia:Neutral point of view says we must explain both sides (see nutshell on that page).
I am not an expert but removal of the entire bit you quote doesn't look ideal. It gives context to the rest of the section where the use of the murder for political purposes is challenged.
Perhaps "despite research showing" could be changed to "while research shows". Would that improve the situation? More opinions from other editors would be appreciated. Commander Keane (talk) 20:13, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
