I wrote this entire piece but may need someone else to view it objectively and see if anything needs to be cut out or pared down

I have placed tags on the article that summarize the major issues that need to be resolved. Mostly, you need references that establish this person's notability, or it may be tagged for deletion. It also reads like an extended obit, but that can be fixed with a bit of rewriting. And, this is wiki - there should be wikilinks to other articles, that's what gives wiki its distinction versus a paper encyclopedia. Maybe start with the games themselves, then wikify any place names and dates. If any notable people (who already have articles) are mentioned, they should be linked as well. I re-added this text, believing that it portrays significant historical involvement on Doris self's part

Walter Day:

Early Years[edit]

Born in Cambridge on September 18, 1925, Doris graduated from Burdette College in Boston. From early on, Doris had a knack for making history. At 19, she became one of the first female flight attendants at Eastern Airlines, graduating in 1945 as a member of Eastern Airlines’ first class of airline stewardesses. Later, in 1954, while working with legendary air ace Eddie Rickenbacker, she co-organized ‘The Silver Liners,’ history’s first association for ex-stewardesses. Today, the DC-3 Doris used to fly on is hanging from the ceiling of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.

I removed this, as it still appears to come from a news article written in 2006. You need to write in your own words. Chubbles (talk) 16:01, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Hi, Chubbles..fixed the problem with the Obituary and have removed the Obit flag. Anybody, please give me your opinions...since I was the original author who actually wrote the above text back in 2006, is it proper for me to reproduce it here, essentially donating it to this wikipedia piece? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Walter Day (talkcontribs) 03:36, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

It has now been referenced so I have removed the "unreferenced" tag. walter —Preceding unsigned comment added by Walter Day (talkcontribs) 11:54, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
