The Notability
[edit]Limor Sharir won Miss Israel contest, there are 13 other entries about Miss Israel winners and three for runners, non of them is Phd and none of ther have written books, and only two succeeded better than Sharir, by winning the first place in the world. Sharir published eight books in Hebrew, all of them in a prestigious publishing houses in Israel and one of them translated to Italian and published in Italy. She wrote hundreds of article in the newspapers and periodicals in Israel and hundreds of articles, intreviews and book reviews have written about her. Tzahy (talk) 11:36, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

[edit]- Miss Israel, physician and writer, her books were published in important publishing houses as Carmel and Yediot Aharonot and were well received. There is no reason to doubt her notability as author.Ewan2 (talk) 01:19, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Comment
[edit]- Guys, first let's not confuse accomplished with notable. Is Mrs. Sharir accomplished? Yes. Does that automatically make her notable? No. Now, let's start with the "Miss Israel" contest the two winners with dedicated articles are notable in that they had not only coverage but a significant cultural or historical impact on the nation and or contest. Winning a national beauty contest is not notable enough to warrant an entire biography in an encyclopedia.
- Then we come to the books, and again, writing a book does not make a person notable, but, being translated may signify notability -- So, I would suggest finding more sources about her writing if possible. I am positive that you believe she is notable and I have found quite a bit on her, but, this is not about her it's about the article and if she is notable enough to warrant a dedicated biography page. [edit]Being Miss Israel is no news, but being Miss Israel, a novelist and a medical doctor is more news. In Israel at least she is very well known. --Yoavd (talk) 05:43, 21 September 2014 (UTC)

[edit]- I am sure she is very well known in Israel and that's why I think this article needs more sources to prove her general notability. Personally? I've never heard of her and I am sure that more than one person using the English Wikipedia hasn't either, but, that does not mean that she is not notable however ... additional sources will help make for a stronger article, more durable article.Orasis (talk) 07:40, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Confusion
[edit]- "The daughter of education and academy parents." -- Can anyone clarify that? Does that mean she was basically a child of academic parents? I'm trying to fix up some of the English in the article so I'd like to know. Orasis (talk) 07:40, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
All the books are probably in Hebrew
[edit]What is the source of the English titles? Xx236 (talk) 08:02, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
