Scaling problem[edit]

How is this intended to scale? There are 245 countries in the world. A good many of them has a kennel club. Jerazol 15:21, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't really thinking too much about that when I created it, but my intention was to set up one for each of the major kennel clubs (FCI, AKC, KC (UK), ANKC, UKC and the NZKC in addition) possibly adding ARBA. Many kennel clubs may not be notable enough, and the FCI has 80 member countries, many of which recognise basically the same breeds as the FCI and aren't very notable (Australia and New Zealand are also FCI, but those KCs are fairly notable in their own right). The Kennel Union of Southern Africa might also be a worthy inclusion (though also FCI). I don't think that it could get a lot larger without a lot on non-notable kennel clubs. --Pharaoh Hound (talk) (The Game) 11:47, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hum, yeah. I initially thought that CKC was a member of FCI when I wrote this, but later realised that they're only affiliated (or something like that). At least will be, once their current troubles with FCI is sorted out :D . Obviously, < 10 is less of a problem. The only issue I have is that the category name is very long. Would it be possible to use the abreviated form of the name, (CKC) rather than the full spelled out form, or would that be to obfuscated?Jerazol 12:06, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
the naming conventions for categories strongly discourages abbreviations. The thought that the name was rather long crossed my mind, too, when I created it. --Pharaoh Hound (talk) (The Game) 12:35, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
