not born with last name masohn, that and mason are both stage names
[edit]http://www.theroguemag.com/features/mercedes-mason "her last name is an homage to two childhood friends with dreams of Hollywood...They created “Masohn” out of the amalgamation of their last names and now, removing her own contribution, the H, she goes by “Mason” as a tribute to that childhood fantasy" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.192.192.30 (talk) 11:44, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

Mercedes Masohn → Mercedes Mason – The credits of film and television used the actress last name Masohn, now it changed to Mason and the page to be renamed. 1.32.76.60 (talk) 06:15, 21 November 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. Andrewa (talk) 09:01, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose for now – the vast majority of her credits use the former name. It's too early to call the newly spelled surname her WP:COMMONNAME at this time. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 01:44, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Support, I agree with the name change because all sources used this name, even the actress Twitter account does what it's own, so support the change. 1.32.77.40 (talk) 15:41, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- This is obviously the IP editor voting for his own proposal. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 17:33, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: The article does not even mention her name change, nor distinguish the credits she has under her birth name from those under her stage name. I get 174,000 ghits under the old name, [1] and still get 128,000 when I exclude those that also mention her new stage name, [2] 242,000 for her new name but many of these may be false hits, as I get only 711 (that's 711, not 711,000) if I search on the new name but include mention of her former surname. [3] At best this looks premature... but in any case updating the article to include the date of the name change and to distinguish credits under the two names is far more urgent and important than a title change, especially considering the redirect already in place. Andrewa (talk) 09:01, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per what Andrewa says, and IJBall. Premature. — Amakuru (talk) 11:09, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Support. I don't know when or if there's been a name change, but "Mercedes Mason" is several times more common than "Mercedes Masohn" on Google News. Given that the subject's own pages use "Mason",[4][5] MOS:IDENTITY would also suggest using that version.--Cúchullain t/c 19:17, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: Has anyone actually asked Mercedes about her birth name and transitions, and what she believes it should be now? - you may be surprised at how much more accurate her page could be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Solistar (talk • contribs) 05:08, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Mercedes Masohn → Mercedes Mason – The previous move didn't go through because I guess it was too recent at the time to tell, but "Mason" is quite clearly the WP:COMMONNAME now. All her recent credits (Fear the Walking Dead, The Rookie) spell the name "Mason", as do RS [6], [7], [8] with countless other examples. Also still being used by the actress on social media, for what it's worth. Nohomersryan (talk) 03:15, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Support as per WP:NAMECHANGES. She's been consistently credited this way since 2015 – three years is long enough. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 16:05, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
