Revolution (Beatles song) → Revolution (song) – Revolution (song) redirects here, so it is the primary topic among songs with this title. WP:CONCISE is part of the article titling policy that calls for (in circumstances such as this) using the most concise name that sufficiently identifies the subject, which in this case is simply "Revolution (song)". The only support for the present title seems to come from WP:PDAB, an essay that was rejected as a guideline as it did not enjoy sufficient consensus (I've not seen anything that suggests this has changed since then). - Oppose, and make Revolution (song) a DAB page. There are lots of notable songs by this name, so Revolution (song) should itself be a disambiguation page. Revolution (disambiguation) is over-long for DAB page and should be split up. — SMcCandlish ☺ ☏ ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ≼ 07:01, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose and follow normal en.wp practice so Revolution (song) redirects to main DAB. We must remember that no-one in the real world types "Revolution (song)", that's a reality we're creating. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:38, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose. Partial disambiguation just doesn't make sense; why have one song titled (song) when more than a handful of other songs have pages? Doesn't seem like that meets the "concise yet identifiable" criteria at all. Nohomersryan (talk) 12:34, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Because this song is the primary topic for all songs named "Revolution". If it wasn't, then Revolution (song) wouldn't redirect here it would point to the dab page. Thryduulf (talk) 14:47, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Even then, it's not really a primary topic since it still has a DAB. What's the use of making the title ambiguous, then? If someone searches for Revolution, Revolution (Beatles song) is going to be more recognizable than (song) which could mean any of them. Nohomersryan (talk) 15:46, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Because this song is the primary topic for all songs named "Revolution". If it wasn't, then Revolution (song) wouldn't redirect here it would point to the dab page. Thryduulf (talk) 14:47, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose, current title makes it easier for readers to find the article via search bar. Same as Thriller (Michael Jackson album). Chase (talk | contributions) 23:49, 13 January 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose per above; Revolution (song) should just redirect to Revolution (disambiguation). Life of Tau (talk) 03:00, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: If consensus results in determining that Revolution (song) is a {{R from incomplete disambiguation}}, the redirect should probably target Revolution (disambiguation)#Songs. Steel1943 (talk) 03:10, 16 January 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. Life of Tau (talk) 17:00, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
- Redirect Revolution (song) to the dab page and fix links. This is incomplete disambiguation and it shouldn't be redirecting to an article.--Cúchullain t/c 16:33, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Easily the primary topic for songs called "Revolution". -- Tavix (talk) 16:54, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Review of re-master version
[edit]One quote could be introduced in the Reception section that I've read in an online review about the re-master version back in 2009, where the reviewer said that it now sounds like "ten-thousand Chuck Berrys rocking the Grand Canyon". I've just tried to google for that review but couldn't find it anymore. --2003:71:4E16:4B74:71A3:7D52:C37D:2EF1 (talk) 01:14, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
Where did this go?
[edit]Wasn't it here that I read that Paul did the opening scream because John would not have had enough time to catch his breath to start verse 1 properly? Where is that information now, other than in the message you are reading? Carlm0404 (talk) 18:57, 7 August 2020 (UTC)
This is, however, discussed in https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/954874-the-beatles-rock-band/51070223 Carlm0404 (talk) 19:03, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Revolution (Beatles song) → Revolution (song) – Strong case of WP:PDABPRIMARY. This article has a ~8:1 pageview ratio with all ten other songs listed at Revolution (disambiguation) combined, none of which have reached even 330 views in the past 30 days. JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 16:06, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose generally an ~8:1 ration is nowhere near enough for a PDAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:41, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- WP:PDABLIST contains many examples of lower ratios than this:
- Born This Way (album) with Born This Way (Cookie Crew album), Born This Way: The Remix and Born This Way: The Collection (4:1)
- Portal (video game) with Portal (series) (2:1)
- "Shattered" (song) with "Shattered (Turn the Car Around)" (2:1)
- Sonic the Hedgehog (1991 video game) with Sonic the Hedgehog (8-bit video game) (6:1)
- Southeastern (train operating company) with Southeastern (train operating company, 2006–2021) (3:1)
- JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 16:55, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Misleading. Of those examples, Born This Way and Portal are versus a derivative topic, "Shattered" is versus a topic with a subtitle, Sonic the Hedgehog is largely titled that way because of the dispute over whether to call it Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega Genesis game) or Sonic the Hedgehog (Mega Drive game) not because of a standard page-view analysis (and I suspect a RM proposing to move it to Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit video game) might well pass). That leaves only Southeastern, which is far from sufficient to prove your point. * Pppery * it has begun... 20:03, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- I think we need to move those to, the consensus is clear that the threshold for PDABs is high. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:22, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- WP:PDABLIST contains many examples of lower ratios than this:
- Oppose. Per my comments at Talk:Good Night (Beatles song), I think we need to pump the brakes on such discussions. 162 etc. (talk) 16:50, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per Crouch, Swale. * Pppery * it has begun... 20:03, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. Incomplete disambiguation. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:12, 9 April 2024 (UTC)
