Don't merge

[edit]

These are distinctly different companies from different continents so should not be merged Thruxton (talk) 16:03, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose merger. Two articles for two different companies of different generations, management, locations etc. See Triumph-related articles which are also split. --Biker Biker (talk) 19:15, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed January merge propossal after 6 months and no support --Thruxton (talk) 19:47, 8 June 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Needs an update

[edit]

This page is in dire need of an update for Royal Enfield's new western market strategy with the UCE engines. It's just not up do date. I would do it myself, but I'm new to wiki and would like to get my feet wet first in other areas first. any takers? --Doomed1 (talk) 07:28, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]
The following discussion is an archived discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Page moved to Royal Enfield (India) per discussion. No action on Royal Enfield which would need another discussion. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:30, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Enfield MotorsRoyal Enfield — The company is NOT called Royal Enfield Motors.Kindly rename it as Royal Enfield as the company is now the rightful owner of the name and trademark Praveen.sathaye (talk) 10:34, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a page at Royal Enfield. What are you proposing to do with it? --Dbratland (talk) 14:48, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Probably both pages should be renamed this way, if not with Royal Enfield (Britain) and Royal Enfield (India) then with dates Royal Enfield (1893-1971) and Royal Enfield (1955- ). The dates are probably more accurate and neutral than using country names. There are lots of films by the same name that are handeld this way, such as Heat (2006 film), Heat (1995 film), Heat (1986 film), and Heat (1972 film). --Dbratland (talk) 05:21, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Next round, see Talk:Royal_Enfield_(UK)#Time_for_a_new_article_at_Royal_Enfield_.28India.29.3F for discussion before deciding how to fix it. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:49, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do not include Commercial Shop address on Wikipedia to promote advertisement

[edit]

I removed a picture containing commercial RE Service shop address, which is illegal according to Wikipedia policies, i hope that doesn't get repeated again. Also i'll be updating this webpage during this week, so Let me know if there are any points to add up. ~~

Royal Enfield dates from 1901, but History section starts in the 1990s

[edit]
I know that the Indian company is not the original one, but not to make any mention of earlier years and when the Bullet was first produced is very strange. Boscaswell talk 06:25, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the issue. Carlstak (talk) 14:21, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading

[edit]

The line at the end claiming Royal Enfield has been around since 1901 without mentioning that it was a different company based in Britain makes it seem like India was somehow pioneering when it comes to motorcycles. 103.119.209.215 (talk) 08:38, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
