[edit]I had no idea how to properly site my source, Sorry. I tried finding and answer and copying from a proper citation but I had no luck. If someone else wants to do it the citation is from http://forums.aeriagames.com/viewtopic.php?t=173594&sid=4e55cc2613bc2c927ee745dd6db89a23. Sorry.70.162.9.10 (talk) 06:25, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Dated info
[edit]The header mentions a beta being in operation, but does not give clear date info; e.g. is the beta still open? Is this even encyclopedic? --Rogerb67 (talk) 21:38, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Looks right to me. The game is still in the open beta phase; the start date for this is indicated in the article. (Side note: "Third Home" should be "Home III" as it appears in-game, but I don't know if I'll need a source to make the change.) 67.237.148.177 (talk) 16:17, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
beta
[edit]Perhaps some info on the beta test a few years back should be on here?--ILoveSky (talk) 02:14, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
I need help with this article.
[edit]I need help with this article. Yes, it is only available for Japanese players now and the English servers have long been closed down. So, the question is... is it to be kept as English/Japanese, focused only on English, or focused only on Japanese? Not to mention, it's most likely only going to be in Japanese from now on as CAVE has said they stopped supporting overseas users. Also, if it is to focus on the Japanese view it should be noted that foreigners get no game support. Thanks. --107.130.160.242 (talk) 00:16, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
- Also, I believe I can help a lot with this if it's changed to Japanese view as I play on the Japanese version now. I've played both the English and Japanese versions almost all the time. --107.130.160.242 (talk) 00:20, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
- I can also assist with screenshots, but I need to know if it should be changed to Japanese view or not, and if screenshots with just about everything in Japanese are acceptable. --107.130.160.242 (talk) 00:27, 18 October 2014 (UTC)
Shut down in japan
[edit]This game sadly shut down the Japanese Servers for good on May 24, 2016.
source: official website (Japanese)
I'm not sure on how to edit it in, so I'll just leave the information here. 2001:8003:24E3:F200:E1AA:E952:638F:B2B (talk) 08:36, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
- It already says that - see the last sentences of the lead and the development section.--IDVtalk 08:58, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

I wasn't going to review another Megami Tensei article due to how dense they can get in detail but due to backlogs I'll be looking into this pretty soon. GamerPro64 02:57, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- Lead
- "Forming part of the Megami Tensei series," I'm not sure I understand what this means with the game forming part of the series.
- Reworded, it's just meant to say it's an entry in the Megami Tensei series.--IDVtalk 11:16, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- "post-Cataclysm Tokyo" Is the "C" supposed to be capitalized?
- So, within SMT1 and SMT2, the "end of the world" is called the Cataclysm, with a capital C. But yes, I think it's clearer to just use "post-apocalyptic", so I changed it to that.--IDVtalk 11:16, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- "Imagine originated as an attempt at developing an online version of Shin Megami Tensei: Nine for PCs after the original version's online version was cancelled." Maybe drop the "s" in "PCs".
- Gameplay
- Neither of the sources in the last two sentences of the section mention the "Cathedral of Shadows". I take it "Kamikaze no Kan" is that place?
- It's called the Jakyou no Yakata (邪教の館, "Heretic Mansion") in Japanese, which is mentioned in the Game Watch Impress ref. In English Megami Tensei releases, that location is called the Cathedral of Shadows.--IDVtalk 19:42, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
- Allright that's fine. GamerPro64 02:19, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

- Synopsis
- This section looks fine. GamerPro64 02:19, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
- Development
- Can't help but think the word "development" is used one too many times in the section, especially in the first paragraph.
- Sorry for the delay, I'll take a look at this when I get home from work.--IDVtalk 11:44, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- @GamerPro64: What do you think of it now?--IDVtalk 18:09, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- Yeah that's good. GamerPro64 21:31, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
- Release
- This section is fine. GamerPro64 21:31, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
- Reception
- This section is fine. GamerPro64 20:24, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- Sources
- The sourcing is done well, with all the sources being reliable and in-line.
Ok. After two weeks of looking into this, I am comfortable with passing this article. If anyone has problems with the article, they can always take it to GAR. GamerPro64 03:01, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
- Somehow missed this last message until now, but thank you.--IDVtalk 16:59, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
