An infobox was requested for the 1969 Isaac Hayes recording of "Walk On By" at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Missing_encyclopedic_articles/List_of_notable_songs/14. —Preceding unsigned comment added by InnocuousPseudonym (talkcontribs) 05:57, August 27, 2007 (UTC)

Added infobox for Isaac Hayes recording. Bonnie (talk) 00:45, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Took me a while to pick up on this, I know...why is this "Walk on By" and not the grammatically-correct "Walk On By"? I mean, what's a "by" and how do you walk on one? I tried to move the page last year, and it got reverted. Dewelar (talk) 03:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing on the Isaac Hayes version? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.16.246.98 (talk) 02:48, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article title

[edit]

Although I'd agree that Dionne Warwick's version may perhaps be the best known version of this song, I'd also argue that it has been successfully recorded by so many other artists that the article would be better renamed - say, as Walk On By (Bacharach and David song). Views, anyone? Ghmyrtle (talk) 11:44, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely. And while Dionne's version may be the best known in the US, consider that, in the UK, *two* versions of the song have charted higher than Ms Warwick's! 70.29.14.52 (talk) 07:17, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'll raise the issue at WT:SONGS - there are couple of points on the naming that I'd like to get consensus on, before moving it. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:42, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Whoever has recorded the song it will always be a song written by Bacharach and David. No contest. --Richhoncho (talk) 08:24, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Moved. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:42, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recording Date?

[edit]

The (first) recording date provided in the box on the right side of the article is later than the release date! 172.76.135.155 (talk) 21:57, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Add the The Undisputed Trust version?

[edit]

I think The Undisputed Truth version should be added to this page too, no? It was on their Law of the Land (album) released in 1973. Jdaviescoates (talk) 00:01, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

– Clear primary topic. Also restores the capital O, which was moved to lowercase earlier this year without discussion. 162 etc. (talk) 16:01, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Since Walk On By is currently a disambiguation page, I have added an explicit destination for it to Walk On By (disambiguation). SilverLocust 💬 18:17, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ari Lennox and Aretha Franklin have incredible cuts of this tune, y’all down to make sure they are represented too?? 2600:1700:245:C140:E841:E699:2463:45C6 (talk) 18:13, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Provided that their notability can be verified by reliable secondary sources, sure. 162 etc. (talk) 19:58, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Doja Cat

[edit]

How is her sample of Walk on By not noted? It’s the entire soundtrack of Paint the Town Red. 2600:1017:B12B:89FA:91DB:1092:D870:880F (talk) 23:32, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
