Honest Question

[edit]

Am I reading correctly that Zhang won a women’s gold before the associated event existed? It seems like she won an open or mixed Olympic medal which is a triumph! Am I missing something? I feel like I should know who this if that’s true? 2605:8D80:5A0:B5FC:3441:FBB1:8E5:3D46 (talk) 19:13, 3 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

She was the first and only female athlete to win an Olympic Skeet event in the open category, yes. Conec123 (talk) 22:44, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Argumentative and biased information.

[edit]

The article states that the reason why the sport was segregated is related to Zhang Shan winning gold in 1992. The truth is that the decision to divide it in male/female categories was taken in 1991, more than half a year before she won the medal. Leaving this fact out of the article and using "consequently" is writing a bad faith argument and not the actual truth. https://stillmed.olympic.org/media/Document%20Library/OlympicOrg/Factsheets-Reference-Documents/Games/OG/History-of-sports/Reference-document-Shooting-History-at-the-OG.pdf 2A01:5A8:302:7728:908B:A154:E276:2080 (talk) 22:55, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
