Chhokar( also known as Chhaunker, Chhoker, Chhonker, Chhaukar ) is a clan found among Rajputs, Jats, Gujjars and Sikhs. In Chhokar The Rajput clain is the only clain who ruled and all other CHHOKARs like in Jat, Gujjar, Sikhs are the are originated from Rajput Chhokar
Distribution
[edit]There are 78 villages of Chhokar Rajputs in Bulandshahr, Gautam Budh Nagar district . There are also 52 villages of Chhokar Rajputs in Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura.There are also some Rajput Chhokar's villages in Palwal , Faridabad, Gurgaon. There are also some villages of Chhokar Rajput near Kama and Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
The villages of Jat Chhokar are found near Agra Mathura and in Kama and Bharatpur, Rajasthan.
Samalkha segment of Panipat district of harayan is dominated by Chhokars GURJAR .There are 24 villages of Chhokars in this region.
Also there are 12 villages of Chhokars in Saharanpur district of UP.

History
[edit]The history of Chhaukar Rajputs was enlightened from Maharaja Attri and his wife Mata Anusuiya. His elder son Maharaja Som ruled over the empire of Pratishthanpur. That's why they belong to Somvansh or Chandravansh.In this stream, there borned a great emperor Maharaja Yayati.His elder son Yadu seperated his clan and his decendents were entitled as Yaduvanshi Kshatriyas.
Lord Krishna, the great son of Maharaja Vasudev and Maharani Devaki was the 48th king of this stream and he established the kingdom of Dwarikapuri.His son Aniruddha and grandson Pradyumna were next to this empire.
After a long passage of time a decendent of this stream Maharaja Karanpal established kingdom of Karauli in Rajasthan. Maharaja Moharpal made Mehrauli in Delhi.In the supervision of Maharaja Karanpal, his great grandsons Helraj and Salwahan ruined the Mevati Muslims around Jewar and conquered whole of the estate.The first village made by Chhaukars after this war was Mundreh.Now a days there are 78 villages of Chhaukar Rajputs around Jewar.
Famous Chhokar
[edit]Baldev Singh Dumna, the first Defense Minister of India, was Chhokar Gurjar. Baldev Singh was involved in securing India's independence from the British Raj. He died in 1961.
Ch. Yashpal Singh Chokkar, the former Agriculture Minister of India in Rajeev Gandhi Govt., was Gurjar Chhokar.He was M.P. from Saharanpur parliamentary seat.
Prof Ajai Chhaukar, Two times chosen as the president of Akhil Bhartiya Kshattriya Mahasabha(India). Raised many issues to parliament regarding the history of Rajputs, maligned by some shrewd polititions. Prof.Chhaukar is the National President of Rashtriya Jan Sansad,a registered political party which is struggling against cast reservation, corruption and terrorism.In 1998, he was also elected as General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh (Janta Dal). Residence- Khurja, Bulandshahr. He's a Rajput Chhokar
Ch. Bharat Singh Chokkar, is a famous political leader and former M.L.A. from Samalkha Dist-Panipat, is a Gurjar Chhokar. ch. Katar Singh Chokkar, is a famous politician leader and former M.L.A /Finanace minister in Haryana state assembly from Samalkha Dist-Panipat
Ravi Inder Singh Dumna was prominently involved in Punjab politics. He is the nephew of Baldev Singh.
Chet Singh Chhokar was a doctor in the British Army who fought in World War I
who was awarded many medals for his bravery in the war including
Member of British Empire and George Cross Medal of those times. He often used Chet Singh not Chet Singh Chhokar as his last name. He was a Gurjar Chhokar.
Ch. Susheel Chaudhary, the former M.L.A. of Nakur Constituency seat. Dist.-Saharanpur from Indian National Congress, is a Gurjar Chhokar.
