August 2010[edit]

Abdi Nur (talk) Yes it WAS my intention to remove the false information on both of those pages. Please do not falsely accuse me of vandalizing the pages . I am very knowledgeable about these topics. Thank you CBW.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Isaaq. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 01:17, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • CBW, I'd appreciate it if you could explain precisely what's wrong with the edit, or if you could point Abdi to a centralized place where they might find--I presume--a consensus on Somalia/Somaliland. Abdi, it would help if you wrote edit summaries and made use of the article talk pages. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 01:23, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Starting with Isaaq is the removal of sourced material. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Clan lineage and Category talk:Somali clans. For Somali language, Hargeisa International Airport and Hargeisa 1, Hargeisa 2 and Hargeisa 2 are all attempts at making Somaliland something that it is not. Currently most of the world does not recognise Somaliland as an independent republic and it's not up to Wikipedia to make it so. April 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Habar Yoonis, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:00, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Habar Yoonis, even if you intend to fix them later. Such edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Your edit merely duplicates the text from the Isaaq article. See also: Talk:Isaaq#Merges and redirects to this article and/or Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Somalia#Sub-clan articles and redirects. Gyrofrog (talk) 21:11, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced content, as you did to Somaliland. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Gyrofrog (talk) 01:12, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Liverpool F.C. wiki[edit]

Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki --Coffeeclub213 (talk) 01:58, 14 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request March 2012[edit]

We all at Motto of the Day are again in a state of emergency and really need your help! Please, review the nominations and nominate new motto[e]s in the In review section, where possible once per week or our daily motto could stop.
If you have any questions or suggestions about MOTD, please let us know. Thank you!pjoef (talkcontribs) 15:30, 6 March 2012 (UTC) :This message has been sent by pjoef in behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors who are showing a Motto of the Day's template on their page(s) (and subpages), and all participants to MOTD, with the exception of the editors "considered to be" no longer active on the English Wikipedia.[reply]

RFA[edit]

Hi Abdi, I have removed your attempt at an RFA from the WP:RFA page, because you need to transclude the template rather than actually copy and pasting the content across, the instructions are on the page. However I strongly suggest you do not attempt it, because I guarantee you that it will not succeed, successful candidates need to have 10's of thousands of edits over several years, whereas you have only 150, nearly 50 of those to your own userpage. I recommend you just carry on editing as before and wait a few years--Jac16888 Talk 23:57, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Abdi 909, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the user requesting adminship has failed to transclude this page and start their RfA.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. —cyberpower ChatOffline 02:23, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback[edit]

Hello, Abdi 909. You have new messages at Talk:Canada.
Message added 01:37, 19 October 2013 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
  1. Please don't duplicate discussion on an article's talk page on a user's talk page
  2. Please review Help:Using talk pages, particularly the part that states "To respond to a discussion already in progress, add your comment below the last entry in the discussion." Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:37, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User page[edit]

Instead of updating this annually may I suggest that you use {{Birth year and age|1995}} instead? I would also suggest that you not use Infobox person on your user page since they are to be used in mainspace only, not user pages. I'll let an admin tell you not to use it though, I'll just suggest it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 02:07, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion, but lets get back to the more relevant discussion. Abdi Nur (talk) 02:16, 19 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014[edit]

Today's motto...

The power of the encyclopedia is in your hands.

Nominate one today!

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).

Disambiguation link notification for March 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Somaliland, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Issa and Sool. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:07, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
