I declined the speedy deletion of this redirect under WP:CSD#R2, because it didn't apply; that only applies to redirects from the mainspace to various other namespaces, not to redirects from the Template: namespace. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 18:23, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Metropolitan90, the redirect was caused by an error in the move process so should probably still be got rid of, the move should have been to a draft space (which I moved it to after realising the error). Amortias (T)(C) 18:26, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

It's not unsourced, it's a copyvio of [1]. —George8211 / T 18:24, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi George8211, I rv'd it as it was unpropely sourced not unsourced, the single reference wasnt really suitable for the mass of text posted. As it appears a copyvio its another good reason for removing it but the sourcing option seemd to be more appropriate to me. Amortias (T)(C) 18:30, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
I understand, but the messages on their talk say "unsourced". —George8211 / T 18:31, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Ok might be something for the guys over at the Twinkle boards as the templates were placed using the unsourced/improperly sourced tags. Amortias (T)(C) 18:37, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Tested on my talk. I used {{uw-unsourced2}} and its level 3 variant with TW. —George8211 / T 18:46, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
Yeah the level 3 goes to unsourced straight off nothing to do with incorrectly sourced. Maybe we need a edit to the template. Amortias (T)(C) 18:56, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for reverting this page back to the pre-warring version. I have put in a request for full protection on this page. The person who made these edits is doing so as part of a larger effort to discredit sportsmen groups. The same user made edits to pages for Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, and more on the same day. The posts made by this user either inaccurately portrayed material sourced off the IWLA Web site or cited the users' own sources. Dawnmerritt (talk) 23:38, 11 March 2015 (UTC)Dawnmerritt

You are wrong

You reverted my edit ([2]) and then left me a warning for not explaining myself telling me to use the edit summary. But, if you had actually given thought to your actions you would notice that I did leave an edit summary and that in that edit summary is an extremely convincing reason for that links removal. 24.143.71.231 (talk) 20:51, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

The summary you gave did not explain why you had made the removal. You stated you were removing a copyright violation but there was no copyright violation involved. Copyright does not expand to cover any idea process or procedure as referenced by US Copyright legislation [3]. Amortias (T)(C) 21:11, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
You are still wrong. The link points to a flagrant copyright violation, and per WP:ELNEVER copyright violations may never be linked to. 24.143.71.231 (talk) 22:33, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Can you please explain why the page is a copyright violation, as per the above link headed to the US copyright legislation you cant copyright an idea or process. An assessment is a process so would not be covered by copyright. Amortias (T)(C) 22:35, 14 March 2015 (UTC)

Error on revert assessment?

Hello, thank you for leaving a message on my talk page. Please note WP:BRD reads "Look at the article's edit history and its talk page to see if a discussion has begun. If not, you may begin one" as a recommendation to the reverter. It is I who first made an edit based on what the RS indicates, and got reverted without the other editor following procedure, namely opening up on the TP. It seems to me that I am the victim here. Thanks for your time and attention. XavierItzm (talk) 21:45, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi, the policy does state that the person doing the reverting may engage in discussion but unfortunatley it's not a requirement. The discuss section of BRD however does specify that you should not re-revert but engage in discussion about the inclusion or changes made. This is preferebly on the articles talkpage as other interested editors can also add their opinion and advice. Another editor (not the one who originally made the bold edit) should then make the addition agreed upon at the talk page. Hope this makes sense. Amortias (T)(C) 21:55, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Must say I've never heard of that last part, about an uninvolved editor. Is that in writing somewhere, or just part of the community consciousness? Seems to me that consensus is consensus, so it doesn't matter who implements it. ―Mandruss  23:00, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
This BRD section mentions the editor who didnt make the original edit should re-add it (possibly as some proof of consensus) but I do agree that as long as theirs evidence of consensus it doesnt matter too much who adds it in again. Amortias (T)(C) 23:04, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

Regarding Jon Costas

On the page "Jon Costas" I did make a note for why the section was deleted - it's not a major event in the life of a living person. The local newspaper contains exactly one reference to this non-event, which is here:

http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/porter/valparaiso/costas-answers-lumenus-controversy-attacks/article_214ebc5a-39a1-5e4b-aa11-120c659b2904.html

Wikipedia is not a site for referencing every single item that may cause a person's name to appear once in the papers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Адриан Джонс (talkcontribs) 21:48, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi, yes Wikipedia does not contain a list of every event in an individuals life but claims of mispropriety in office would normally be considered noteable. As the claims are backed up by quotes from the individual in question and do not appear defamatory there appears good cause to keep the information in. Wikipedia has to be neutral and include relevent information both positive and negative to ensure that the articles remain neutral and do not push a promotional or one sided opinion of the articles namesake. Amortias (T)(C) 21:52, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Please also see WP:BRD you edited boldy and reverted you are required to take it to the talk page to discuss your change, please self revert otherwise you are at risk of being considerd to be edit warring. Amortias (T)(C) 21:54, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Reply: The question is whether the incident is notable in any way, and as a local resident, I can tell you that this one is not. It generated a grand total of one newspaper reference. There was no newspaper editorial, no complaint to the city's neutral ethics commission, no investigation by any law enforcement, and no finding of any wrongdoing. Creating a full section in a biography to reference something like this is inconsistent with Wikipedia's NPOV and encyclopaedic tone. Truth be told, the article hasn't much been updated since 2008. It needs a full review - which can include both positive and negative information. Until then, the Lumenus section doesn't belong in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Адриан Джонс (talkcontribs) 22:06, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

There still lies in the issue with your breech of the WP:BRD policy which needs adressing. You are currently one edit away from being engaged in an edit war which could lead to you being blocked. It would be strongly advised to self revert the edit that removed the information start a section on the talk page and then request additional editors to review the inclusion of the material.
You may also wish to be careful with phrases such as Until then, the Lumens section doesn't belong in the article without haivng carried out a discussion as it may be interpreted as ownership of the article. Amortias (T)(C) 22:29, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi

Hi! I am Hannah. Thanks for the welcoming message :) I really want to edit Wikipedia in a good way- can you help me do that? Also, how do you create a lovely user page and talk page like yours? Thanks!

Hannah dufc (talk) 18:12, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Hannah, theres many good ways of starting editing Wikipedia and it really depends on what takes your interest. If you find a subject matter that interests you and see if theres a page that needs editing that relates to it. If not you could visit the Teahouse and seek advice from there on how you could contribute. If you want to have a page similar in design to myself you can copy part of my page format over to your user page that will allow you to have something similar, some of the information however will need to be created on your own.

This text will put the blue background and heading on your page if placed at the very top of your user and talk page.

{{DISPLAYTITLE:<span style="position:absolute; top: -9999px">User:</span>Amortias}} <div style="background: #d0e5f5; padding: 10px; border: 3px solid #4682B4; {{border-radius|10px}} 8px; font-size: 100%; font-family:calibri; text-align: left;">

You'll need to change Amortias to Hannah dufc. If you want to change the color you will need to change the sections starting with a #. These are hexidecimal color codes, the best bet is to google them to find one you like for the background and one you like for the borders. First # is the background second one is the lines.

The bit at the top with the icons and the boxes down the right hadn side are slightly more complicated. Once you ve got the blue bit right give me a shout and we can work on the other bits. Amortias (T)(C) 20:49, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Hannah. I was wondering if you had made a talk page because this is not giving me great service?

Sincerly, $$$M0nay makaaaaa$$$

Hi, there are several things that have to be taken into account when editing Wikipeida, edits have to be encyclopedic. Additions such as Good job Frank dont meet the criteria for encyclopedic content so are likely to be removed. if you want to get some more advice on waht you sould do to ensure your edits meet criteria can be asked at The Teahouse. I'm not entirely sure how to cite a Netflix movie, but I am confident in my change - another one of my open tabs is that movie. Any chance you could let that edit stand? I'm sure someone will know how to cite it, and I'm absolutely positive that the edit is correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.7.58.7 (talk) 19:07, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

It is called Art of Conflict - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2519468/ (I also found the IMDB page for it - not sure if the Netflix link will work, since it may be an automatically generated url for viewing purposes for one account) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.7.58.7 (talk) 19:15, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

{{cite AV media | people = | title = | medium = | publisher = | location = | date = | url = }} The above would work for a movie (internet based or otherwise). If you want to add it for this yourself feel free. I'll check back in an hour or so and do it mysef if not. best to use the netflix one as IMDB isnt usually considered reliable. Amortias (T)(C) 19:25, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

I'd be more comfortable if you added it - I've always been bad at this formatting business. Also, I don't have a good way of checking if that link works for everyone, or just people connected to my Netflix account. So will you also be re-adding the edit? I figure that being discussed for ~5min in a Netflix documentary narrated by Vince Vaughn probably qualifies as "In Popular Culture" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.7.58.7 (talk) 19:31, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
