Tennis[edit]

Hey, we should wait until a decision is reached, unless we don´t add them. Kante4 (talk) 19:09, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A week after the Afd was opened, give your opinion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2011 Challenger DCNS de Cherbourg – Singles Qualifying Kante4 (talk) 19:51, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the time, only non-notable players are playing challenger qualifiers. It was a discussion to include ATP/WTA qualifying draws in the tournaments. Challenger qualifiers are not important enough... Kante4 (talk) 20:24, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just a heads up: The articles are deleted so no Qualifying articles for Challengers in the future. Kante4 (talk) 01:06, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Only finished sets, so no 3-2, 4-5, 5-4 or so... Kante4 (talk) 20:49, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No meant it in the way that if a set is still going and somebody adds a 6-4 or sth. like that into the stats, would this be allowed?
You mean, the match is still ongoing. You can add finished sets to the bracket. Kante4 (talk) 21:06, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Another thing: When a player retires put the "r" also after the sup template. ;) Just like the tiebreaks... Kante4 (talk) 19:45, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'Minuses'[edit]

'Minuses' = dashes. ;)) You should use this combination (LINK) and everything's gonna be all right. ;)) PL Alvarez Talk 22:37, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tried it with copying the dashes and it worked, but anyway thanks for the quick answer.Catgamer (talk) 22:40, 6 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Challenger[edit]

Hey, why do you remove the last year´s champion when the new one is not known? Example: On the 2011 Cachantún Cup article you added the doubles champions but also deleted the defending singles champion before the final was played, why? Kante4 (talk) 20:25, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it at another challenger some time ago and thought that it would be right, but if it is not I have to admit that then I made a mistake that I will try not to repeat in the future. Sorry Kante4 Catgamer (talk) 20:31, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, no problem was just curios as this was not the proper way. ;) Kante4 (talk) 20:32, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder[edit]

Hey, when a player retired just put the r in the sup template, like you do at a tiebreak. Kante4 (talk) 19:15, 13 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I have already done it that way, but yesterday I forgot itCatgamer (talk) 10:32, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re:2011 Futures[edit]

Relax, man. I really appreciate your work and keep on trying. Soon you'll learn the rules of WP:Notability and it'll come with time. I can't exactly explain my rules. It's a little bit complicated, but my basic advice is that: always check on the website atpworldtour.com if the player has signed some performances on the important events (ATP 250, ATP 500, ATP 1000, Grand Slam) or in Davis Cup / Hopman Cup or if he won any Challenger title. Of course sometimes you must check other important things - read about them in WP:NTENNIS. You'll advise yourself. ;))

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi, this message is to let you know about disambiguation links you've recently created. A link to a disambiguation page is almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

2011 ITF Men's Circuit (October–December) (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
was linked to Vladimir Ivanov, Mikhail Biryukov

Any suggestions for improving this automated tool are welcome. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 23:44, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 2011 Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Tennis[edit]

Hello Catgamer!

I have seen you are a Tennis fan and you are very interested in Tournament’s results.

Would you like to take part in a project about Olympic sports, where you would take care of the Tennis section, posting results, draws, schedules etc. and taking part in the forum, following, if you want, all other sports in the Road to London 2012, supporting your favourite athletes and teams in all sports?

Let me know in your page, I will check it in next hours.

Thanks!

Grak. Eminn.A (talk) 20:33, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would like to participate in that forum, but I have a question to ask, do I have to do certain tasks, because sometimes due to my studies I do not have much time to edit results so would it be possible to participate even with this little handicap.Catgamer (talk) 20:45, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sure it is possible, don't worry about that, you will contribute according to your other duties.

So, to find the forum, just search on your search engine for "Men's Tennis ATP Challenger Tour Finals 2011" (with ") and you will find one of the threads we had in the Tennis section of the forum.

From that page, you can go in the home page, register and then we will write each other again from the forum itself, and I will give you more informations.

See you there!

Thanks.

Grak --Malediviseno (talk) 21:07, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but cannot find this page, so could you describe me the path to the page and of course how to register. Thanks for your help.Catgamer (talk) 22:33, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, my fault. I can't post direct link, but you will find the link on this empty page: http://olympicdatabase.altervista.org/ Just click on the link you see in the right part of that page and you will be on the forum.

See you there!

Thanks.

Non Notable tennis events[edit]

You have placed or added info to several tournaments on wikipedia that are not notable enough for inclusion. The threshold is: "From 2008–2012 the ITF Women's $35,000–$100,000+ tournaments (excluding qualifications) are considered notable. From 1978–2007 the threshold for notability in the women's ITF circuit is a $25,000 event (excluding qualifications)." Please do not add these low level tournaments to wikipedia in the future. 2012 St. Louis Cardinals season[edit]

Hi. I've noticed you have consistently made incorrect links in the GAME LOG ('Record') section that I have had to correct almost every time you post the game summary. The May 4th game link had the PREVIEW of the game instead of the RECAP. If you can't double-check the link to make sure it is accurate (with both the team abbreviations on it twice, and the actual date of the game) when you post it, please don't add the link; I'll do it. Thanks. Katydidit (talk) 16:36, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing that; I only had it as it was because the disambig page for Chris Archer points to Christopher Archer for him, not Chris Archer (baseball), which is obviously the better title. - Jorgath (talk) (contribs) 19:24, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Angels Game Log[edit]

Hello! Every time I update the 2012 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim season game log, you change the "GB" column to the incorrect color. Please take a look at the legend at the bottom of the section to see which colors belong for the division, wild card, etc. In the future, please refrain from doing this. Thank you. --CASportsFan (talk) 09:12, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Font color for 2012 Cleveland Indians season article[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you're doing consistent updates to the 2012 Cleveland Indians season article; is there any chance you would be able to make the font color for "show" in the monthly game logs a different color? Right now it's dark blue text on a navy blue background and might be difficult for readers to see they can click and expand that monthly log. Cheers! Zepppep (talk) 04:18, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

English football leagues[edit]

Hi there - the thing is, I like doing it, especially the ones I created (Western, Southern, Isthmian, CCL) :) Haha, so I'm happy to keep doing it, but the ones I edit least are the northern ones (Northern Premier, Northern, North-West etc) and also the 2012–13 Wessex Football League and the 2012–13 United Counties Football League. There are a few minor leagues that don't have season articles yet though, like the Hellenic Football League, Kent League, Eastern Counties Football League etc - these are at the same level as the Western League, Combined Counties League etc. You might want to create those and update them, if you have the time. Bretonbanquet (talk) 19:40, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm.. not sure if there's a bare template anywhere for the tables and results - what I usually do is copy and paste one from another league, and substitute the teams into it. Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:29, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You just did it ;) It's automatic when you use the Fb cl team formatting inside a table template like the ones in the articles. If you create the article so I can see it, I can help you with it if you want. Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:01, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That looks pretty good so far. The biggest thing to do is to create the templates for the clubs who don't have them yet. That will fix the red links. I'll do that now, so hopefully you'll see the red links go blue as I do it. Bretonbanquet (talk) 23:58, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done that, so it looks a lot better. I've put it in the English football template so other editors can see it, and tomorrow I might look at some other small improvements, but I think it looks OK right now. Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:31, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's funny, every time I go to update a table, you're already doing it. Anyway, doing the templates is quite easy - take another team's template (e.g. Template:Fb team Deal Town) and substitute the name of the new team into it, and the article name, and the abbreviation. If you have trouble with it, I'll do them later. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:19, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NLF taskforce invite[edit]

As a contributor to English non-league football articles within Wikipedia:WikiProject Football, I thought I'd let you know about the English non-league football task force, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of English non-league football. If you would like to participate, join by visiting the task force page and add your username to the participants list. Thanks!

Seen that you do a lot of the updating of non-league tables (like myself, I do the Northern Premier and North West Counties League seasons) so thought I'd issue an invitation to the non-league taskforce! Delsion23 (talk) 18:16, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

College Basketball Team pages[edit]

Couple of things when editing 2012—13 College Basketball team pages. °When creating college basketball pages titles shoud look like this °When entering teams use the school name not the mascot. °make sure you add the right catagories (don't just use Army's Catagories for Binghamton). °If your not going to add the full schedule, that's fine but leave the rest of it blank and someone else will come by and add the rest. It makes it for much easier to edit if you follow the steps I listed- Just trying to help a littleBearcats fan (talk) 18:13, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you but...[edit]

Thank you for all of the college basketball pages you have created recently but I have a few suggestions. I have edited pretty much every page you have created latley to make them better. First off do not use a non free image without giving it usage rationale, always use a free image when possible. Also, dont have to have spaces between the standings template and the opening. Make sure to watch the time zones. There are other small things, maybe just go back and look at some of my changes to help improve the pages you create in the future. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 02:53, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not like they were huge mistakes, easily fixable and I like doing it. I was planning on doing those pages anyway so its nice to have them done, especially now because once the season starts its going to be hard to create new pages while updating when games are played. And just a heads up, no need to do a team from the Big Sky Conference, I will get them done this week. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 03:08, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great. Careful with Stetson, someone did a redirect of the season article to their normal athletics page, make sure to create it on the redirect and not just a brand new page. I'll also go over pages you create and tweek/add anything that needs done. We also need to start finishing the schedules as much as possible before the season gets going to much. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 16:55, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Othe users have created and will maintain pages for the larger schools but its fewer and far between for the smaller schools. I do it just because its something I like doing. I created about 100 season articles last year and started early this year and have done about 120. For most teams this will be the first season they will have a Wikipedia page. The ultimate goal for me would be to have every division 1 team to have a page but that takes forever. I have done it the last 2 years with FBS and FCS football pages, but those are easier to maintain since most of the games are on one day a week. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 23:10, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Basically if its anything other then just letters it is not free. If you go and look at the Atlantic 10 teams you can see that I found wordmark logos last night and uploaded them, yet to see if they will actually stay but for now it works. So if you don't know if its free or not just leave it blank and I will try and find one that is free.

The big west only needs a few more, be nice to have that conference done. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 19:14, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Any team that doesn't have a page yet you can do if you want. I'm going to be busy getting the schedules completed on pages you have already created and finding free images to go on the pages. I just think the pages look better with a picture in the infobox. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 23:39, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The only league/conference that does not have a year end tournament is the Ivy League so if you do all the teams from conferences with year end tournaments and the Ivy League then that would be every team. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 00:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The only two teams I didn't do in the CAA are unc Wilmington and Towson because they are banned from post season play, but that dosent mean we can't do a season article for them. The other team I didn't do because of a post season ban is Jacksonville state of the Ohio valley. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 18:11, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the hard work getting all those articles up. I will try my best on adding to schedules and getting some free images up but weekends I mostly work on college football pages so it might be Monday before I get to the basketball pages. Only one more week before most teams tip off the regular season on the 9th so I hope to have at least the teams that already exists schedules done before then. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 22:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that non of the season articles you have added have included exhibition games. I just started to finish the schedule for Sacramento State and they have an exhibition game that you did not list. I don't know if you are leaving them off or just missed this one but if they play an exhibition game please still include it in the schedule, it is still part of their season.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 18:00, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't forget to update the overall record in the infobox when updating the games, don't just update the schedule. Thanks. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 04:32, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE!! update the overall record in the info box as you update games. Every game last night that you updated you did not update the record and I've gone through today and have changed a bunch, but I noticed on Norte Dame's game today that you updated it but their record say 0-0. While you are on the page please update their overall record so we don't have to spend the extra time with someone else updating a page that you have already added the score on. If you don't know how just use the edit button on the top of the page and the first thing you will see is the info box. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 21:34, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are doing amazing work though. As much as I would like to I could never update as much information as you do. I am still trying to get logos up for every team as I go and that is taking longer then I thought, and I will always try and update games aswell throughout the season since in college basketball there are pretty much games every day from now until the middle of March. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 21:56, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great work keeping the 2012–13 basketball articles up to date. One think I have noticed that's not getting done is updating the dates on standings templates. As of today a lot of them still say as of November 15. It's not a big deal, but something that should be done. Thanks. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 03:53, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 2012–13 Eastern Michigan Eagles men's basketball team[edit]

Hello Catgamer,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2012–13 Eastern Michigan Eagles men's basketball team for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

2012–13 ACC basketball standings[edit]

You have repeatedly changed the 2012–13 ACC basketball standings to place NC State fourth and Virginia fifth and I have repeatedly reverted your edits because you are incorrect in doing so. Please stop attempting to change this. The ACC determines the basketball standings based solely on in-conference record, using tiebreaking procedures where appropriate. This year, Virginia and NC State both went 11–7 in ACC play and Virginia beat NC State 58–55 in their lone regular-season head-to-head matchup on January 29 in Charlottesville. (NC State did win the ACC Tournament game, but that game doesn't count towards the standings.) Under the ACC's procedures, that head-to-head win means Virginia finished fourth.

The standings as shown on the ACC websites' "Standings" page confirm the proper order. There's no better exemplar than how the league itself lists the standings: http://www.theacc.com/this-is/accstandings.html#mbb

Accordingly, I will continue to revert any change you make in the order of the teams, although obviously continued updates to the non-conference records are completely appropriate as long as the order the teams are listed does not change. 1995hoo (talk) 17:35, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

TemplateData is here[edit]

Hey Catgamer

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:58, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

tips for new pages[edit]

I've noticed the pages you have done so far that you are not changing the tense in the opening. You are leaving it as represented instead of represents and they were in whatever conference instead of they are a member of whatever conference. If you could change those when you create a page that would be helpful. Also, there are years in the top of the template for the schedule that need to be change. 2013–14 College Basketball season[edit]

You did amazing last year keeping basketball pages up to date and you started creating the pages for this year but it doesn't seem like you've done any lately. The season tips off tomorrow and there are a ton of teams pages that haven't been created yet. I am doing the best I can but there is a ton to do. Just wondering if you were going to be helping this year like last year? Bsuorangecrush (talk) 16:23, 7 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No Problem, I was just curious because you were so fast and on the ball last year. I'm a lot busier then last year as well so the basketball pages might slip by the wayside a bit this year. Oh well, we can only do what we can with the time we have. Bsuorangecrush (talk) 01:52, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
