I have added details of his death from the most recent Saints book which has updated the same group of authors' previous research. I have also added some information from Ancestry on the talk page. I don't know what you think of Ancestry as a source. Let me know if you want me to add this into the article. Best wishes. DKBY2015 (talk) 13:24, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Good work there. The ancestry information is most likely true but it isn't particularly vital information so if the source is considered unreliable then it is probably best to leave it out.--EchetusXe 13:31, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

First let me say -> thanks for reviewing my nomination and giving a green tick for GTG. I appreciate that! You have more experienced than I do, especially in the way of Good Articles. I'm impressed, as I know how hard it is to get an article promoted to GA. In your comment for GTG you said the picture is fair use, however I see the picture as a copyright free picture and uploaded it to Commons. It was taken by William J. Hammer (etched into photo) and published in 1904. This makes perfect sense to me as I explained in the article I created. He had a big presentation of his Collection for the St. Louis World's Fair of 1904. There he was awarded the Grand Prize for his incandescent light bulbs. He took pictures of his total Collection titled "The History of an Art" -> which 1904 picture of Display Case I have in the article. He also took some pictures of individual bulbs and sets of bulbs. The 1904 picture of the 4 bulbs is one of those he took at the same time as he did for his Display Case. Since it's a 1904 photo, by default it is copyright free (anything before 1923 is). I got the photo off the Smithsonian site. They make no claim that it is their photo, but just reproduced Hammer's 1904 photo. The only reason I am bringing this up is to nip a potential problem in the butt BEFORE it becomes a problem. I think you meant to say it is a "copyright free" photo and therefore could be used on the main page if the Promoter decided to use it as the #1 position in the DYK queue. A "fair use" photo can NOT be used on the main page. Just wanted to run this by you to see what your thoughts are on this.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 11:11, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Entry for John Green

I believe you added a reference to some very nice comments about John Green when he played for Port Vale, which were published in the Stoke Sentinel in April 2016. Thanks.

I knew John well in his later years. With his help I modified the early Wikipedia pages on which someone had entered the statistics of his time at both Blackpool and Port Vale, so that it included more biographical detail.

He was touched that someone who didn't know him had taken the trouble to put his stats on there. He would have been very touched and justifiably proud to read the comments published in the Stoke Sentinal which you added reference to. He always spoke very fondly of his time at Port Vale. He was a lovely man. Thanks again for your additions to the entry.Curbo (talk) 17:03, 9 June 2016 (UTC) Curbo (talk) 17:03, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

For example, KIKO should be known solely as that, it's his sporting name whilst FRANCISCO MANUEL GERALDO ROSA is his full real name; hope that helps, if not please elaborate. --Be Quiet AL (talk) 18:40, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Removal of tabloid sources

Hello. Please would you use an edit summary when you remove sources, so that the casual observer can understand what you're doing. And, more importantly, where you're leaving the content unsourced in the article, please would you tag it as citation needed. thanks, Struway2 (talk) 10:13, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
