Link deletion

Re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam_Cruise

Not sure which term(s) were violated as this material is my own and I'm authorized to videotape on Jam Cruise.

Quote: There is no blanket ban on linking to YouTube or other user-submitted video sites as long as the links abide by the guidelines on this page (see Restrictions on linking and Links normally to be avoided). Just as with the vast majority of web pages in general, most videos hosted on Youtube or similar sites do not meet all of these restrictions, and copyright is of particular concern. Most YouTube videos containing copyrighted material (outside of the official YouTube channels of organizations and entertainment/news media companies) do not have permission of the copyright owners. Each such link must be evaluated for inclusion with due care on a case-by-case basis. These links must also identify the software necessary for readers to see the content.

Please advise and thank you,

Reverting

As you see you had to revert articles such as Jennette McCurdy. I've suggested that article to be semi locked but nothing came of it. It's annoying to keep reverting articles.Jeneral28 (talk) 10:57, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't think you understand what the page protection is for. All the times i've seen you talk about protecting Jennette's page it's been so unregistered users can't edit the article, but the Protection policy clearly says that's not allowed. Semi-protection is only used when there is a lot of vandalism daily to an article, Jennette's article is only edited a few times a day and is only vandalizes a few times a week. That is not enough activity for the page to get semi-protected. Frehley 11:13, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Welcome W. Wilson, Jr. Wikipedia Page

You have requested deletion of Welcome W. Wilson, Jr.'s Wikipedia page. I do not understand why you keep requesting deletion, he is son of Welcome W. Wilson, Sr., who is Chairman of the University of Houston System Board of Regents, he is also on the Texas Business Hall of Fame Board of Directors, Vice Chairman of the Houston Food Bank, and a prestigious Texas business person. Please explain your incessant pursuit of his page deletion.

Hi, I noticed that you tagged this page for speedy deletion under criterion A7. While your tagging was not incorrect, I believe you should have used criterion G10 instead, as this is clearly a page created only to attack or disparage its subject. This also gives the creator a more stern warning than a simple notice saying their subject may not be notable. It is also likely to get faster administrator attention.

Keep in mind that attack pages should preferably also be blanked. Some tools, like Twinkle, does this automatically. Other than that, keep up the good work! decltype (talk) 01:19, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

I added the speedy deletion tag to the page because the band you were trying to create the page for doesn't meet the notability guidelines. I did a few searches before tagging the page and couldn't find anything to show the band has notability. Please see WP:MUSIC#Criteria for musicians and ensembles for the notability guidelines for music. —Frehley 03:04, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Response to ??? on Ernestvoice talk page

Can you tell me why you added this to my talk page? Frehley 22:03, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I used Twinkle to flag a user talk page for SD (advert) and since you were the first person to do something on their talk page, it notified you automatically. It is an error, i will just delete it -- ErnestVoice (User) (Talk) 19:15, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

yea, i dont care if the article gets deleted, i made it cuz i was really bored. And, btw, you have a really cool guest book thingy, can you teach me how to make on? --Jumpman Jordan (talk) 00:05, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

All you need to do is make a user subpage, (EX: User:Jumpman Jordan/Guestbook) and add a message to the top of the page (EX: Please sign by adding: # (Optional friendly message) ~~~~. Frehley 00:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Subject is notable. Please note how many pages link to him.I am removing your notice per WP:SNOW, and please stop wasting time. Glen Twenty (talk) 00:11, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Homeless Heart

Granted that it is a cover, it should stand as a single article with references to Stott's aand Ryan version. It should not immediately qualify as a redirect.Jeneral28 (talk) 10:36, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

If the article is based on McCurdy's version of the song it should be redirected, her version fails WP:MUSIC as it is not a notable song. If the original version of the song passes the notability guidelines for music then the article should be created around it, and have a section about McCurdy's cover. If the original fails WP:MUSIC also the article should remain a redirect. Frehley 11:41, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

ACC #29861

Just wondering why that one was dropped. Q T C 09:23, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I thought i finished that request, I don't remember dropping it. Frehley 09:37, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

Image

Why not?Jeneral28 (talk) 12:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I think your talking about the image i removed here. The image can't be used in the Homeless Heart article because it is not the album cover for the song, it's the album cover for the cd that the song was on. Using the image in the article about the song would violate the fair use policy. Frehley 12:14, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

List

I just wondered why you deleted my “list” page. This page was linked to a graph image and gives a list of the values in the graph for users to copy and paste to a spreadsheet program to recreate the graph. Why did you delete the page? --Simpsons contributor (talk) 17:18, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Carelessness. I've linked it to my own userpage now. Delete /Data page. --Simpsons contributor (talk) 17:22, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Ok i don't know what "graph" your talking about, but the page you created in the main namespace looked like vandalism, which is why i tagged it. I can't delete it as i'm not an admin but it should be deleted shortly. Frehley 17:30, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem. I just thought that typing /Data as a link would link to a page connected to the image (Sawtooth life.png ‎). I've moved all the data to a new page linked to my userpage now.--Simpsons contributor (talk) 17:57, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
I see, unfortunately it's not that easy. Cheers. Frehley 18:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Is there a tool to alert you when a new account request has come up at ACC?Smallman12q (talk) 19:11, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so. If there's any kind of alert i think it would be in the IRC channel. Frehley 19:22, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

CSD

You are obligated to read the article (or at least its lead) prior to nominating it for CSD. The lead clearly states that it is about a book, and I see no CSD criteria that covers that. I strongly encourage you to carefully and fully read WP:CSD before placing any more notices. Confusing or unsupported placement of notices has the tendency to WP:BITE newcomers acting in good faith, even if their articles are not deleted.  M  17:16, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

First of all i did read the article, and i thought i used the "PROD" template not the CSD template (guess i should've double checked). Secondly i've read the CSD policy multiple times and know it very well. Frehley 19:36, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
