Template:Mick Talbot has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. The Banner talk 00:07, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Your navboxes will be much more helpful and useful if you include all the articles that are applicable to the topic rather than just a select few. Also, if your goal is "a navbox on every page", after you create a template you should be adding it to each of the appropriate pages. The {{Suns of Arqa}} template, for example, has not been placed on Revenge of the Mozabites, Musical Revue, Wadada Magic, India?, Ark of the Arqans, White Band Speak With Forked Tongue, Johar Ali Khan, and Raghunath Seth. If you plan to get around to this, I apologize, but your MO has been to create and move on, believing other editors will do your work for you, it is a disservice to your goal. If you would be more proactive, you'd spend far less time having to defend your template creations in TfDs. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 18:37, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

  1. Again, if I did that on templates such as Glen Campbell or Hank Williams, Jr. it would take forever.
  2. As I mentioned before, creating all of the templates that I have made and applying them to articles has taken on the order of thousands of minutes.
  3. If a navbox is created for a small topic that will grow over time, the navbox will more than likely appear on the pages that have been created after the navbox was started, therefore the number of pages with navboxes applied will approach the number of pages over time. Template:Vince Neil has been expanded and applied to several musicians that I did not know were associated with him.
  4. I did include all of the information for Template:Funkadelic and Template:Sonny Throckmorton within the template. Why are people STILL recommending that they be deleted when they do in fact provide connectivity? If Template:Funkadelic should be purged, why hasn't ANYONE shown what Template:P-Funk will look like with ALL of the information added? As I stated before, as of right now, a template can not have more than 20 groups. Additionally, only three of my templates have been deleted per TfD ever. Back from Ashes because the band article was deleted, Kip Moore because the articles all linked to one another and No Justice because the album articles were deleted after the fact. --Jax 0677 (talk) 01:32, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
  5. Can you provide a policy based reason (besides WP:POINT) for removing Ark of the Arqans from Template:Suns of Arqa? --Jax 0677 (talk) 01:32, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Nope, just WP:POINT. I don't care about P-Funk and Sonny Throckmorton. I just don't understand your goal of "a navbox on every page" if you are not gong to follow through and put the navboxes you create on each page that's applicable. Of course, they may grow or end up being transcluded on articles you didn't know about, but I'm talking about something like Suns of Arqa, with articles for eight albums listed right there in the article, yet you just include 5 of them to meet some stupid "rule", and then you don't even add the template to each of the articles (which is totally goes against your wish for WP:ANOEP). It would only take mere minutes to complete that task. Why do things half-ass? There is no WP:DEADLINE, so if you can't do it right, I don't know why you do it at all. --StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 02:17, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

  1. If you only removed Ark of the Arqans from Template:Suns of Arqa to prove a point, and have no policy based reason for doing so, you are working against the mission of Wikimedia, which is to add to the sum of human knowledge, a goal that I am working towards.
  2. If you paid attention to our previous conversation, you would know that 5 minutes times over 1000 templates comes out to dozens of man-hours of work.
  3. If you do not care about P-Funk, why did you comment about it at TfD?
  4. As time goes on, my navboxes have expanded and have been added to more and more articles. Every transclusion is at the expense of part of another navbox being created.
  5. IGNORED QUESTION: Why are people STILL recommending that Template:Funkadelic and Template:Sonny Throckmorton be deleted when they do in fact provide connectivity? If Template:Funkadelic should be purged, why hasn't ANYONE shown what Template:P-Funk will look like with ALL of the information added? --Jax 0677 (talk) 04:23, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
Trying to take a reasonable view on this, if an article group was well written and had templates then there may be grounds for giving it a grade A. If the same article group was without templates then maybe I would only give it a B. If the same article group had a half finished and half applied set of templates then I doubt I would give it a pass. I think this is what Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars is trying to say. By half applying the templates and moving on then you are turning an article that is a good pass into a fail. We appreciate the time that it takes to create templates etc, but I think the community in general would appreciate it more if you did half of the articles properly rather than half do all of the articles. Op47 (talk) 20:27, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

  1. My work is one step in the right direction of improving article connectivity.
  2. If I had some more help and fewer TfDs for templates that definitely shouldn't be there in the first place, ANOEP would go a lot quicker.
  3. Applying a template to hundreds of articles gets monotonous.
  4. I once placed several navbox requests at Requested Templates, and few have been dispositioned.
  5. According to WP:TOOSHORT:

"For articles and other material with the same issues, deletion is not recommended, but the actions below are. Please see WP:BEFORE for more details.

Wikipedia has many stubs. These should not be deleted for this reason, but should be marked as stubs." --Jax 0677 (talk) 20:54, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

1) I do not doubt that statement as far as it goes, however connectivity is not the be all and end all. We have all seen houses where some one has started a job and then started another before finishing the first. The way you are working is turning wikipedia into that house. As I said above, it would be a bigger and better step if you completed each task before starting the next.
2) Wikipedia is not compulsory. We all have different ways that we can contribute i.e. some supply new content inspite of limitations in their use of English, some do not have content to contribute but are able to clean up after the aforementioned group, some carry out maintenance so that others don't have to. It is not your place to be demanding that others do your bidding. Not every one believes in WP:ANOEP, there is the view WP:NENAN.
3) Yes it is monotonous, we all think that, that is why the rest of us do not do it unless we have to. How much worse do you think it would be if you didn't even agree with what you were doing. What you seem to be doing is a small part of a very tedious task and then saying to others, "if you want your article to be a good article then you will have to do this tedious task." You sir seem to be becoming quite a bully and it would not surprise me if you ended up before WP:ANI.
4) We are not talking about this, we are saying that some of your nav boxes are being deliberately left incomplete.
5) I am not sure why you are even levelling this at me, I supported you when someone tried to delete your templates and you even acknowleged that. I have not asked for your templates to be deleted per se, but what you seem to be saying is that you write an incomplete template and leave it and every one else is expected to undertake the tedious task (by your addmission) of completing it. Well I suspect that other people when being faced with that would prefer to delete it per your point 3 above.

Reply -

  1. Agreed, except WP:WIP.
  2. Agreed, except WP:BEBOLD and I am not demanding anything of anybody.
  3. Why do we permit stub articles at all? By their own admission, Spanish Wikipedia deletes stubs on site because people create a lot of stubs and not complete articles. WP:2SHORT applies to both articles and similar material.
  4. What I am saying is, that with respect to my goal of ANOEP (to the extent that it is reasonable), is that WP:Requested templates is designed for people to request templates without doing the templates themselves. What about Template:Vince Neil where I wasn't even aware of the supporting band members? How can I predict everything that needs to go in a navbox in all cases?
  5. I remember Wikipedia saying specifically that, if you do not have time to create an article, create a stub, because they often grow into articles. TfD should not be applied to navboxes that have the potential to be expanded upon. Material that is inappropriate, libelous, slanderous or copyrighted however, should be deleted, even if it is a full scale revert, because this creates liability for Wikimedia.

--Jax 0677 (talk) 12:55, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

1) I do indeed agree that Wikipedia is a work in progress and probably always will be. To be fair I think I misunderstood what was going on, and I am so sorry for that. No one is complaining (as far as I know) if you have to stop work for the night. 2) I know you arn't demanding of people. My concern is that sometimes it appears that way. 3) I do not know why we permit stub articles, but I don't think we really have a concept of stub nav boxes though. I think the difference is that the information for a navbov is available. Also a navbox is likely to be an improvement to an already good article. 4) I think WP:Requested Templates is intended more for writers who need a template but perhaps don't have the skill to do them. Re. Vince Neil, it is a blurry distinction at times, but that kind of change is someone adding their inspiration to an already good edit. 5) As I have said, I don't necesserily aprove of wholesale deletions, nevertheless they are a fact of life like lightning for instance. If you take appropriate precations then you don't get struck and it is the same with navboxes. I am only trying to give some advice. Op47 (talk) 21:06, 13 February 2013 (UTC)

Clean up the mess...

As I told you many times before: quality comes before quantity. Check the links before you dump a template. You make it all too clear that you just don't check the links at all. Template:Timbiriche is another example of your dodgy work. Find the link to the disambiguation page and solve it. The Banner talk 22:15, 14 February 2013 (UTC)  Done

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of List of Doctor Who universe creatures and aliens (H-P), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: List of Doctor Who universe creatures and aliens (H-Z). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 14:34, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of accidents and incidents involving airliners by airline (D-O), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ebersheim (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ze Malibu Kids requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. BDD (talk) 17:34, 16 March 2013 (UTC)

Onre-ref stub with no assertion of notability per WP:NALBUMS, and no evidence of it. This is a WP:POINTy creation, intended solely to increase the link count on Template:Doogie White, whose deletion the creator is contesting at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2013 March 16#Template:Doogie_White.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
