Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rhymney, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kelso. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Environmental Health in Wales indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 04:35, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Canon Davies

[edit]

Absolutely delighted that Canon Davies has an article. I had no idea. I shall see what I can add. On titling, there is neither Ebenezer Davies nor Ebenezer Thomas Davies, so perhaps a simpler title? Or maybe E. T. Davies is how he was best known? He conducted my sister’s wedding, and was a deeply kind and thoughtful man. And he contributed a great deal to the history of my adopted county. Stelvio House, Newport

[edit]

How odd that our paths should cross for a second time. I am thinking of re-naming Stelvio House, Newport to Stelvio House, 15 and 17 Stow Park Circle to enable better coverage of/linkage to the Registered historic Park and Garden. The page's originator hasn't edited for seven years, and you're the next most-prolific contributor. Any objections/thoughts? KJP1 (talk) 07:35, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It might help you to understand my reply when I disclose that I used the article multiple times like a microbiologist uses a Petrie dish to undertake an experiment - to more quickly learn how to insert links into an article than by accessing Wikipedia Help, which I didn't find easy to understand. That said, I perceive 'Stelvio House, 15 and 17 Stow Park Circle' as compromising the conciseness and intelligibility of 'Stelvio House, Newport'. However, if re-naming the article like this is the only way to enable better coverage/linkage to the Registered historic Park and Garden then so be it. Regardless, there would not appear to be any moral principle at stake here. Consequently, I would not regard re-naming the article as objectionable. I hope this reply is useful. parenthetical referencing

[edit]

I removed the parenthetical referencing that you added to 1859 Welsh revival. That style of referencing has been deprecated on Wikipedia since 2020; see WP:PAREN for details. Also, please use template:blockquote instead of manual indentations, and don't add external URLs in the body. Hope that helps! Schazjmd (talk) 23:11, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm DankJae. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Alfred Onions. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DankJae 18:14, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your response: it resolves my long-standing uncertainty about the relationship between the two types of link in an article. I need to reset!John Desmond (talk) 18:39, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response. Hopefully they become articles at some point so they can be linked then! For the meantime best in an external links section or converted to citations if they were referenced. Kind regards. DankJae 18:42, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Brecon Ironworks

[edit]

And we share an interest in Bradney as well. What similar Monmouthshire byways we wander. Do you like Hando? Re. your Brecon Ironworks, there’s easily an article there. It’s just not been “done” in quite the Wiki-way. If you would like me to edit it so that it is, and should pass AfC when another reviewer strolls by, just shout. All the best.
