Lakers
Should the Lakers article be in the Good article candidates list in the WikiProject Los Angeles Lakers? I noticed that Dennis Rodman is on the list so i think the Laker article should be to, what do you think? BlueRed 19:22, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Motto of the day
Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Just want to let you know, I would like to co-nom the above article with you since I have put some work in it. Cheers —Chris! ct 05:32, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Featured content userboxes
I was tempted to revert your edits to {{User Featured lists}} and {{User Featured articles}}. You should have discussed your changes first, and as far as I can see, you haven't done that for the former template, and the latter I'm unsure. You've changed the wording to nominated, but just because it was nominated doesn't mean the nomination was successful, and therefore could make users add it to their userpage if they've nominated a list/article but the nom failed, and it will therefore cause incorrect categorisation. I suggest you revert yourself. Qst (talk) 10:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

North Carolina Basketball Seasons - FL?
Would you be interested in helping me get North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball seasons up to FL status. I have done a lot of work on it and think it is pretty much there, but any help you could give would be appreciated (since it seems you do this a lot). Also, by getting this up to FL status, it will be the first college basketball season FL article and so could act as a template for all other college basketball season articles. Let me know what you think. Remember (talk) 17:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC) (p.s. Please reply on my talk page)
Quick question
You mentioned in this FLC some sort of key/picture problem. What exactly is it? (Just wondering.) jj137 (talk) 21:59, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Re: Luongo
The "unofficial" notation is not refuting the fact that he was named captain, he's just not officially recognized by the league as such, and I think that should be reflected here, because he's not wearing the C in the traditional sense. IrisKawling (talk) 03:31, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
FAR withdrawn
I've withdrawn Wikipedia:Featured article review/Something/archive1; please read the instructions, and do not re-nominate this at FAR for at least four days. Also, it is not really in good faith to nominate an article for a couple of citation tags; that can be raised on the talk page. If issues aren't resolved within four days after mainpage, then you can re-nominate. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:31, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
A new FL contest
Wikipedia's epic FL directors Matthewedwards and Scorpion0422 have decided to try another FL contest as a follow up to the one held last June. As you are a regular at WP:FLC, you may be interested in taking a look at the new one, which will have different rules. Although they are still being fiddled with, three FLs in different topics will be required this time around. For more information, see here. A start date has not yet been determined, but it will likely begin some time next week. Thanks for the time, Scorpion0422 22:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- Probably some time next week as I want to give people some time to join and think about things this time around. My current date is Friday October 10, which is the earliest that you will be able to submit FLCs for the contest. I will probably allow you to choose your topics and lists starting tomorrow. -- Scorpion0422 03:16, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- By the way, you can start choosing your topics and lists now. -- Scorpion0422 03:41, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Just so you know, I have decided to not approve your List of Canadian provinces and territories in order of entering Confederation because there is a Provinces and territories of Canada list that already contains this data. -- Scorpion0422 20:56, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- I would prefer if you didn't because that would make the list less useful. If you need a suggestion, why not List of premiers of British Columbia? There are several premier FLs that you could model it after. -- Scorpion0422 02:19, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

article Semantic similarity
What didn't you like in my inserting an itemization list instead of an unstructured piece of text? What was your reason of reverting my changes?

And who are you to decide what contributes and what not? Are you an expert in semantic similarity?

- Please also use edit summaries when doing reversions on articles, and don't be too WP:BITEy :-) BMW(drive) 12:58, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
I see what you mean about the text in the former article just duplicating the individual station articles. Your clean-up eliminated that unnecessary duplication, and made the article what it should be: a list and not, as the saying goes, a list "trying to do more". It was a good change, but the DYK rules do not accommodate such improvements, probably because it would be too difficult and subjective to judge those rewrites. In any event your work was good. Non-vandalism rollback
I am curious as to the reason for this rollback. Normally our site policy pages do not use sample tables and images at the top.
As you know, rollback rights are to be used exclusively for undoing vandalism. I am concerned that some of your rollbacks have been borderline, and might be better handled with incorporating valid material into the article and educating the user in proper editing.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks. Kylu (talk) 00:50, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Brothers in Arms
Hi, Your recent rollback of an edit on Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway was not necessary, as the prior edit had actually fixed the main character's last name "Baker" by capitalizing it. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sfranks.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Sfranks.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:21, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi the Los Angeles Lakers article is on hold for a few more days, i was hoping you can improve it like you did before, you improved the article and fixed my mistakes. Here is the review page if you want to help. Thanks. BlueRed 06:34, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm planning on making a run at FLC with this, and I wanted to ask one of our top list producers a few questions beforehand. 1): How should the Knicks/Knickerbockers thing be handled? I'm not sure about what I have there now. 2): Does the NBA consider their loss in a third-place tiebreaker in 1955-56 a playoff appearance? 3): Do you like how I handled the round-robin in 1953-54? I'm still planning on adding citations to the lead and tweaking a couple things, but these are my primary concerns. Thanks in advance for any help. Giants2008 (17-14) 23:51, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Angels Opening Day Starting Pitchers List
Thanks for finishing the List of Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Opening Day starting pitchers list. I saw your edit summary noted that the score and attendance still needed to be added. The early Opening Day starting pitcher lists didn't have either, and while the score seems like valuable information, I'm not sure the attendance is necessary. It seems to me like more ancillary information that will only leave less room for the images on the side. What are your thoughts? Rlendog (talk) 17:12, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- I expanded the lead and added a score column. I also nominated for DYK under both our names. I don't think there should be much more that needs to be done to get ready for FLC, except to fix the issue I am having with sorting the scores, where the 10 and 12 come between the 1 and 2. Do you know how to fix that? Rlendog (talk) 22:36, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
- User:Alansohn helped me out with that and fixed the Angels list. I also used his suggestion to make the Padres list sort properly. Is there anything else you think needs to be done before FLC? Rlendog (talk) 01:43, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I think the list is ready for FLC. Should I just list you as a co-nominator, or would you want to add your name yourself? Rlendog (talk) 02:58, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Shiloh-Scott station opening
Just requesting your quick opinion on a trivial question of mine. I'm trying to bring List of St. Louis MetroLink stations to FL status. Question: What was the opening date for the Shiloh-Scott MetroLink station? Was is the June 21 opening grand ceremony, or the June 23 start of revenue service? From what I've read and can recall, the first ceremonious train was the only one to serve the station prior to the 23rd. See the first reference on the station's article.--Millbrooky (talk) 17:24, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if I have the detail, I figure I might as well include it. As for the cities, well, that's what they are. I've modeled that detail on List of Bay Area Rapid Transit stations. Anyways, I went ahead and nominated the list over at FLC. I look forward to seeing any other comments you might have there. --Millbrooky (talk) 01:20, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
