Gheorghe Calciu

Why did you give me a warning on Gheorghe Calciu? Their edits made it a stub. Are you OK meaning sane? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 19:40, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

Yep, perfectly sane. --NeilN talk to me 00:31, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

NeilN my apologies for previous title. Also, my apologies for getting you involved and thank you very much for informing the correct party.

  • He's back, even after the final warning; and now he's got an account. Concerning the last one, I would like to point out the following: the account name is "Legionarii", that is to say members of the Iron Guard (a fascist and violently antisemitic movement). His edit summary for the edit that completed the IP's "truth back" innaities reads: "Futuvanguradacamaipunetimanapepaginaastatrimitsavatragaglontu". Let's break this down into grammatical words: "Futu-va-n gura[,] daca mai puneti mana pe pagina asta trimit sa va traga glontu[l]". My translation (feel free to ask anyone to verify it): "Fuck you in your mouths if, should you touch this page ever again I'll send someone in to shoot you with bullets." Hi, Thank you very much for tending to the unfounded accusations of vandalism on the talk page for my IP Please, I'd appreciated if you took the vandalism slur by way of the TW template, which you just restored, off my talk page for my IP also. Dravidian languages

Hi Neil, I have given a proven record stating that Telugu is daughter language of Tamil as like other Dravidian languages too. Then why it is not accepted. As you might know the grammar of Telugu is basically from Tamil. We must teach the reality to the people that "Telugu is a derived language from Tamil anonymously" --Karthiksabaasha (talk) 07:17, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Mr. NeilN, Greetings, I was highly disappointed coz the truth of Dravidian language is still be hidden. You might know that Dravida is a term come from the language called Tamil. Anonymously all the South Indian languages are separated from Tamil too. Then why do not they just put it over on wiki or why do they hesitate to put on(If I am wrong, instead of scolding me as stupid or idiot, they could come down and clear the things). Even my friend is linguistic and according to him the term Egypt is from "EZHUPATHI" EZHU in Tamil is Raise and PATHI is mount or hill "Raised hills" and thus implies pyramids over there. For water it is called as neeru and this term converted in to neelu and slightly nillu to nile and Nile to implies Nile river and thus in Telugu they call water as Nilu. It is un acceptable they call South Indian languages formed without the root of Tamil. Please give a solution which should make either one of us to get corrected. --Karthiksabaasha (talk) 12:38, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

I guess there is a cultural differences or sth that I do not know about wiki norms. What is your impression if sb tell you "do not be silly?" What does it imply? Does not it imply that you are silly?--Penom (talk) 21:44, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
That I am acting silly, yes. But "silly" is a very, very, very mild pejorative. It's used by parents and in polite conversation - "England is going to win the World Cup." "Don't be silly." --NeilN talk to me 21:53, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Unsourced warnings

Stranger still, uw-unsor4 used to redirect to Template:Uw-unsourced4, which redirects to a more appropriate general last warning (using the word "disrupt" but omitting "vandalism." I'm going to be bold and redirect unsor4 to the generic as well. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:42, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, good call. --NeilN talk to me 21:48, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

For an editor of an encyclopedia, you sure are dumb.

The section header here is an example of something that might be construed as a personal attack. On the other hand, telling someone who's either trying to stir up shit or whose sensibilities are completely out of step with those of civilized society that they would benefit from therapy is not a personal attack. Do try to figure out the difference here, I'm sure you're more than capable of it. But hey, at least you didn't think it was "harassment". PrewDismay (talk) 02:18, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

This is somewhat interesting. What you describe on both accounts is clearly personal attack, but I think this rule is never enforced except when the prevailing winds blow the right direction. Perhaps there is a subtle irony intended here, that you come to stir up shit and are insulting as an example of a personal attack, then describe a prior personal attack, and complain about the subtle difference. Irony and sarcasm are definitely powerful ways to communicate but what is the message? That you should be blocked? Obotlig (talk) 07:20, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
WP:DNFTT is a good policy to follow. Ignore, and block if necessary. --NeilN talk to me 07:32, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Which leads to the question of whether invoking WP:DNFTT is in fact feeding the trolls or fanning the flames. Obotlig (talk) 20:28, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, you'll see I didn't respond to PrewDismay. I point to the essay when things go off track on talk pages with the hopes that editors caught up in the heat of the moment pause for a second and consider any response carefully. --NeilN talk to me 20:34, 2 June 2012 (UTC)
Which still leaves the question of who is trolling whom and how to determine that by some impartial measure. Obotlig (talk) 21:36, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Tamil Language

Hi NeilN, Greetings, What if I found something is totally wrong and unreliable in terms of language vocabularies, also I can give the exact meaning since I hold that language as my mother tongue. To be honest, Modern Tamil has borrowed some terms from Sanskrit, but not the ancient one. Still we can bring out/ speak out modern Tamil without including Sanskrit. The following page is completely wrong and I can explain the real Tamil terms Example: svasa in Indo arya and its Tamil term is Moochu or uyir moochu and not cuvacam. ( Not only this, for Each and every term I can give you the exact meaning in original Tamil. We accept the influence of Sanskrit in to Tamil. But Tamil has its own originality and its much older than Sanskrit too. Please help me out how can I save my language from its decrepit, even though it has all its qualities as an ancient language also gave birth of some languages too, but the derived people feel hesitate to accept it. I have all the proof, awaiting for you rely. Thank you.--Karthiksabaasha (talk) 03:16, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Since you're related to this, you may wish to read up on WP:CONFLICT and WP:NEUTRAL. - Zhou Yu (talk) 03:21, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
Since these Sanskrit to Tamil borrowings are properly referenced to a reliable source, you cannot simply rely on your own native ability to speak Tamil to change these forms. You will need reliable sources to reference. --Taivo (talk) 03:48, 18 May 2012 (UTC)
As I've stated before (twice), your proof needs to be in the form of multiple high-quality reliable sources - published academic papers, articles in peer reviewed journals, scholarly liguistic books, etc. --NeilN talk to me 03:50, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Oh sure, I will get the reliable sources. Thank you.--Karthiksabaasha (talk) 04:09, 18 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi Neil,

I checked the guidelines for external links, and I am puzzled why you removed the link to the Playboy Wiki, which I added to this page. The Playboy Wiki was initiated under the authority of Playboy Enterprises, Inc. and is maintained by longtime fans who know their subject better than most Playboy staffers. The particular link that I made was far more relevant and informative than the link to which remains there. That link to a page at shows a random handful of Playmates, whereas the link I provided, takes a viewer to a page listing __all__ of the Playmates of the Month in chronological order, with links to detail pages of each of them.

I have some more general comments and concerns about the recent profusion of lists here: but I would like to address you confidentially on that matter. [ remainder of message awaiting a confidential channel ]

Some disruptive edits by

Hi, NeilN.
I have a strong feeling that (talk · contribs)(210) (you just beat me to reverting them at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Archives/Humanities/2012 March 28) and (talk · contribs)(234) may be related. Both IPs are through TPG Telecom/"TPG internet" though at different locations in Sydney, Australia.

The latter(234) removed an automatic signing of their IP address from the same archives back on 10 April here and an entire (unanswered) question from Wikipedia:Reference desk/Archives/Entertainment/2012 March 11, here. I think know why 234 did it now, as Bowei Huang 2 (talk · contribs) was blocked indefinitely on 4 May 2012 for sockpuppetry. I find it highly unfair that you focused on only my revision of this page when vandalism has been occurring there for at least 3 weeks. Who gets to decide what a "reliable source" is? I believe that the two biggest newspapers in Orange County (Daily Pilot, which is an affiliate of the LA TIMES and the OC Register) are reliable sources, but the editors deleting the content I added don't believe them to be, and they believe the information added is "trivial"? What is "trivial"? The specific occasion referenced in those articles is possibly THE issue that this Councilwoman is mainly known for in Orange County. Any discussion of her career that does not include this really relevant piece of information is just not complete. If you're going to delete what I wrote, please do the same with the other side. --Socalpolitik (talk) 04:40, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

From WP:BLP: "Biographies of living persons ("BLP"s) must be written conservatively and with regard for the subject's privacy. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid: it is not Wikipedia's job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives..." If other editors bring up BLP concerns then material should be left out until there is consensus to add it. Don't edit war to put it back in. --NeilN talk to me 04:45, 20 May 2012 (UTC)

WRT your edit at Vladimir Putin, you gave the reason as 'couldn't find consensus for this'. In my humble opinion though, I like to believe in WP:DRNC. IMO, you should provide actual reasons in your edit summary for editing. You've said Gardner isn't a good source for himself. I edited something to do with Wicca. That's the religion he created. It's like saying Christ/the bible isn't a good source for information about Christianity or Anton LaVey isn't a good source for information on Satanism. If they created or defined the religion aren't they the primary source you should go to in order to understand what their religion - not the person - is all about? It really makes no sense to me to say such citations are incorrect.

Hey, just a heads-up, "make.believe" is most definitely Sony's slogan; it's almost beyond needing a source because of how much emphasis the company has placed upon it. With that being said, the field actually doesn't display and I've started a discussion about re-adding the "slogan" field to the infobox. CaseyPenk (talk) 04:25, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

I suggest you use [3] as a source. To be honest, even though I've bought Sony products, I've never noticed that slogan. --NeilN talk to me 04:31, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
Definitely a good source. And I see what you mean; it's kind of a subtle and uncontroversial tagline. CaseyPenk (talk) 04:33, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

I just edited the section on criticisms and agree that, usually, forums and such should not be used as references... and perhaps the petition should not... I am, however, confused at how to insert a section such as this that would stand as any such criticism is simply opinion and as such, nearly all of it would appear in such areas. Thank you for your time. Sferguson1529 (talk) 15:03, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Well, there is nothing I can do about your opinion here, but I would like you to think on the fact that you are, essentially, blocking this aspect of the criticism from ever being posted... it is most unlikely that such a complaint will make it into any news channel at all. I understand that limiting sources can raise the reliability of the site, but by straight out stating that only news sources and similar are acceptable, this site is agreeing to censor itself by whatever is 'newsworthy' to the wider world... such a straight-line answer with no flexibility is disappointing to those whose concerns might not necessarily mesh with the mainstream. It occurs to me that a significant portion of the planet could have a difficulty with accurate posts as much information is controlled from within many borders.

Something to think on, just because 'reliable' sources do not back something up, does not mean it doesn't exist... it's commonly thought that the world was thought to be flat until Magellan... that is said and thought, it isn't true.

How is linking to a photo that we cannot and would not use helpful? --NeilN talk to me 02:00, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh perhaps I was trying to illustrate the absurdity of something without being insulting. I don't think that is WP:POINT is it? I can't keep track of all the rules. There are some fantastic photos of Streisand with compatible licenses. Is flattering the qualification for use beyond that? Obotlig (talk) 02:03, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Actually, flattering is what we strive for but in not so many words. See WP:MUG. We wouldn't use a picture like the kind you linked to, even if it was free. --NeilN talk to me 02:10, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Absurd! That photo is not false, disparaging or unexpected. I did encounter a picture of Amy Poehler on here that some professional photographer contributor insisted was accurate but depicted the poor woman with orange skin. I had to fight tooth and nail to get that picture removed due to the apparently color blind photographer taking personal insult. In the above case it's what Streisand looks like now, was not a sneak shot, or just after she woke up, or anything. Anything disparaging about it is not due to the selection of photograph. What about WP:MUG indicates that the most glamorous, perhaps made-up or airbrushed and favorably lit picture should be used? It should just be accurate and not selected to imply something belittling or false about the subject. Obotlig (talk) 02:16, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
I think on review that the setting, lighting and context of that photograph would for most people be considered quite flattering or their best accurate portrayal. Obotlig (talk) 02:22, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
If it ever comes up on the article's talk page, you can see how far you get with that argument with other editors. --NeilN talk to me 02:26, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

If I'm not wasting your time or being annoying, allow me to make another example and see what you think of it. Here is a picture of a quite attractive friend[5] (I asked her if it would be ok to use for this). Now, knowing she won't take this the wrong way, this picture was selected to disguise the look of disdain or disgust she has difficulty ever hiding, to make blemishes less apparent, and to present a certain image (clothing etc) that on the whole may not be the most accurate. Should this sort of image be used or one more like the above of Streisand, which in this particular case would not be, um, so disparaging of the subject. I think the latter - a more authentic, non-press-type image as would be taken of any person, versus a "glamourshot" or what-have-you. Just my thoughts. Accuracy is most important. Obotlig (talk) 02:50, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

We would use the shot that best captures the public's image of her. In an actor's case, that would more than likely be a glamour shot. For older actor's, it would probably be one when they were younger. Our strict non-free content policy even has an exception: "However, for some retired or disbanded groups, or retired individuals whose notability rests in large part on their earlier visual appearance, a new picture may not serve the same purpose as an image taken during their career, in which case the use would be acceptable." It's not a strong exception but it shows you how perception is weighted over authenticity. --NeilN talk to me 02:59, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Wouldn't that be a good argument to use one of the more "flattering" younger pictures of Streisand as the main one for the article? Her notoriety reached its height decades ago. The current one in the article doesn't show anything very identifiable about her appearance, on stage or otherwise, or as she was best known. Anyway, I'll leave it at that. Thanks for the information on how selection of photographs for BLP articles should work. Obotlig (talk) 03:07, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes it would but Streisand isn't retired. I would love to use the photos the other editor provided but our non-free content policy is pretty strict. --NeilN talk to me 03:13, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm sorry, I meant to let this die but there's still something I don't understand. Since there are "flattering" correctly licensed photographs already in the article of when the individual was at the height of notoriety, why not use one of those and obviate the whole question of a clear, flattering and accurate portrayal? Or is there a preference for newer photographs of people who are still not retired decades after they were most famous? Obotlig interrogate 04:55, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
You should probably ask this on the article's talk page - editors contributing to the content of the article may have reasons. Otherwise, you can propose changing the photo. --NeilN talk to me 05:04, 7 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm really not sure any of those do her justice. Obotlig interrogate 05:10, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you very much. The process has been quite informative actually.. you learn a lot when you have to explain it to someone else in a coherent and organized fashion. CaseyPenk (talk) 02:38, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Attention please

Can any editor publish the article that is under review and written by another editor? Can any editor copy the article using the link put onto the other editor's talk page? Can you answer these questions? Thanks, Egeymi (talk) 17:21, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Replied here. Your right for attribution wasn't given but that's been sorted. --NeilN talk to me 17:36, 7 June 2012 (UTC) most popular section

Sylvester Stallone

are there facts, is it an early stage of acromegaly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by User1973 (talkcontribs) 00:10, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Again, we don't speculate or guess about medical conditions. We find information published by reliable sources and then discuss. --NeilN talk to me 00:15, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Again: This is exactly the question: Are there sources/facts about this topic. Its 100% not my intention to insult, but rather to find informations about anti-aging therapy with human grow hormone. As a fan I was genuinely shocked about his conditions a few years ago, when I heared now about statements of using grow hormones, and the chanGing of his appearance, I try to find out, if there is a relation between these two things. Thats why I pose this question: ARE THER SOURCES/FACTS ABOUT THE QUESTION I POSED? (after we can delete this thread, no problem) --User1973 (talk) 00:29, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
The only things I could find was stuff like this and this. No sources saying he actually has acromegaly. --NeilN talk to me 00:34, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for your mini-research and the links, I've read them. But you are one person, while the community consists of many persons. So let me ask you an important final question: Is it officially prohibited to pose a question/request for facts/sources on talk pages? (in this case about sources/facts of the connection of the offcialy use of jintropin and the changed appearance of the last few years). Or is your point, that I formulated my request in a wrong form - so I have to reformulate it in a better way? --User1973 (talk) 00:52, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, your question was inviting speculation. Better to phrase it something roughly like: "Are there any sources out there which state Stallone has acromegaly due to his use of HGH?" --NeilN talk to me 00:59, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, sir.--User1973 (talk) 01:04, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

The Teahouse!

Hi NeilN! Someone may have chatted with you already, but if not I wanted to stop by and say thanks for coming to the Teahouse and answering people's questions. Your experience is so valuable for educating new editors about Wikipedia. We have a couple of easy guidelines for the editors who help at the Teahouse. This link to the "host lounge" will tell you about the mission behind the Hosts and what makes us different than other help spaces on Wikipedia - we say hi (welcome people when we answer their question), we're friendly, and we're not chock full of jargon. I look forward to your continued participation. Thank you for all you do! heather walls (talk) 00:12, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi Heather. I reviewed the material - are only hosts supposed to answer questions? I was involved with helping an editor this morning (see User_talk:NeilN#Attention_please) prior to him posting at the Teahouse and that's how the Teahouse got on my watchlist. I saw Dan653's question now and just answered it. --NeilN talk to me 00:26, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Not at all! Everyone is welcome to answer questions and be part of the Teahouse and I really appreciate your help. We all need a reminder about the goals of the Teahouse once in a while and I wasn't sure how familiar you might be. I like to say hello and start a conversation when I see a new "face". Very glad to have you around. :) heather walls (talk) 00:35, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Yes, thanks for the link. I was wondering how the Teahouse was different from the Helpdesk and got my answer. --NeilN talk to me 00:38, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Your comments on User_talk:

I fail to see why you are playing The Wikipedia Game with me when I am trying to oppose the entry of defamatory libel into Wikipedia, by removing it when it is found. I had previously requested on the BLP Noticeboard that the blatant POV and libel in the article at issue be addressed by experienced editors and that request was ignored. (talk) 03:07, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Repeatedly accusing an editor of inserting libelous and defamatory material is not a "game" - and I note other editors disagree with you. Your BLP/N request was not ignored. Youreallycan is looking at the situation. Your constant attacks shift focus away from what you want to achieve. --NeilN talk to me 03:20, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

What's the case number, Neil?

What's the case number, Neil? (talk) 07:26, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

It does not matter. As I've repeated lysaid, multiple reliable secondary sources say something like this: "FWA general manager Bernadette O'Neill said lawyers had been instructed to prepare documents and initiate proceedings against Mr Thomson, according to the AFR." --NeilN talk to me 07:29, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Talk:Health Services Union expenses affair

The material you restored to this talk page looks funny. I'm not sure that it violates BLP, but copyright is a question. If you strongly believe that the talk page needs this material, please try to get consensus for it. Otherwise it's likely to wind up at WP:AN3 where much unproductive discussion will ensue. People will go into rhetorical mode, positions will harden and blocks are possible. This is surely not a desirable outcome. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 16:02, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

First it was undue, then unsourced, then a copyright violation accusation was made (I've asked the editor making the assertion to confirm), then it's original research. I've never seen such attempts to stretch policy to remove a talk page post made in good faith (obviously if it's a copyvio it should come out). --NeilN talk to me 16:12, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Your recent edition in Anita Sarkeesian and upload of non-free image

I notice to you than I removed the link to image uploaded to Commons and placed the recent edition in Anita Sarkeesian, due to copyright violation, because that hace many non-free contents. The file has been tagged for Speedy deletion and will be deleted from Commons. So, please upload the non-free files to Wikipedia and set the proper permissions (Fair use) and relink them, instead of upload them to Commons. Amitie 10g (talk) 04:22, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

It was not a copyvio. The creator licensed under cc-by-sa. --NeilN talk to me 04:26, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
X mark.svg No, the file contains copyrighted videogame characters, and Fair Use is not allowed in Commons, and also is outside the Project scope. Please understand them. Amitie 10g (talk) 04:41, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for the pointers (I don't play videogames). I have uploaded the file here (hopefully correctly). --NeilN talk to me 05:05, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

need help

The user began to delete my source based on a scholarly written book based on a PhD thesis. I want him to be punished in this case. Thanks, Egeymi (talk) 18:46, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Egeymi (talk) 19:00, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

I need your help. The discussion between us on his talkpage is as follows:

Why did you delete an ongoing discussion here? Do not you know everything is kept in Wikipedia?

This is my talkpage. I can do whatever I want with it. Al-Mujahid Fi Sabil Allah (talk) 18:49, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

But you could not delete messages on my talkpage. But you did so. Egeymi (talk) 18:50, 26 June 2012 (UTC) The book also clearly states that Fahda bint Asi Al Shuraim was widow of Saud ibn Rashid on page 250

Well, I can delete messages that I wrote in any one's talkpage Al-Mujahid Fi Sabil Allah (talk) 18:52, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

No, you could not. It is my talkpage, do not you recognise it?Egeymi (talk) 18:53, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

Idc. It's my life. I'll do whatever I want in it. Al-Mujahid Fi Sabil Allah (talk) 18:55, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

The "info" you put is out of citation. That's why I'm reverting you. Al-Mujahid Fi Sabil Allah (talk) 19:03, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

It is not OUT OF CITATION. It has two sources. Egeymi (talk) 19:09, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
I further gave you the page number in the book. How can you say so?Egeymi (talk) 19:10, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

I've put messages on both your talk pages pointing you to WP:3RR and urging you to use the article's talk page. I will keep an eye on it and help out if I can. --NeilN talk to me 19:38, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

NeilN, I am sorry to bother you again but I have a question. Is it possible to add the info deleted by the other editor on the page without reverting it? Because the article as it is contains only a single view about the person. I think any encyclopedia cannot contain such information without the opposite or the other view. Thanks, Egeymi (talk) 20:30, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
What I suggest is waiting 24 hours to see if the editor responds on the talk page. If they do not, I will revert back the additions as the sources seem ok. --NeilN talk to me 20:41, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, NeilN. I am really sorry to take your time.Egeymi (talk) 20:43, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
No problem. I like to help when I can. --NeilN talk to me 20:44, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

In the Wikipedia article entitled Spread Betting you deleted an edit I made which elaborated on different options available to a bettor involving teasers

"or the gambler must wager on more the one event and both events must win. In this way it is very similar to a parlay."

Why did you decide to pull this out?

Christendom 3

Hm, new editor, knows how to do alignments. Wish I did. Dougweller (talk) 20:56, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

His edits have a POVish quality. I'm about to check out the source he added to his sandbox. --NeilN talk to me 21:11, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
So he's continued to change numbers in Christianity by country without adding references (which looks good, BTW). Let him continue? --NeilN talk to me 21:39, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
Hm, I was going to say I'd blocked him, but I blocked Christendom2 (talk · contribs), an entirely different (not) editor. SPI time do you think? Dougweller (talk) 13:04, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Well you could block citing WP:DUCK and no one would raise an eyebrow. I do wonder if it's more of a case of WP:CIR than vandalism though. I finally got them using their talk page instead of a sandbox and asked them to explain their edits. --NeilN talk to me 14:39, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Thinking about it, was about to do it but I see "But I'm new at this, I just created an account to fix some stuff here". No sign there that he admits to having had an old account. And the old account made no effort to discuss their edits, although I guess that could be a competency issue. Dougweller (talk) 15:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I've placed some advice on their page. Wait and see if they edit again? --NeilN talk to me 15:21, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Sure, no problem. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 15:27, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 28

Hi. When you recently edited Coyote attacks on humans, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
