Promotion[edit]

Hello. I do not know if this is your intention, but the way you are posting in http://news.biharprabha.com/ in various articles right now (I checked 10 of your edits, and all of them contained a link to this website), makes it look like promotion/advertising. Perhaps you can clarify if this is the case. Thanks. Nymf (talk) 18:17, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste move from Wikipedia:Pt. Gopal Bhargava[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Wikipedia:Pt. Gopal Bhargava a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Gopal Bhargava. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Psychonaut (talk) 07:18, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Psychonaut: Thanks, I appreciate your points. The reason why I did so was because I was unaware of the 'Move' feature at that time. Rest I am on the same page as you.Quartzd (talk) 07:43, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Quartzd. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "2013 Bihar Flood".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/2013 Bihar Flood}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. -- t numbermaniac c 04:24, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You. An Article with similar name was later created, and due to that, the AFC request was declined. This one is no longer neededQuartzd (talk) 05:10, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need help[edit]

Hi bro. I'm expecting some help from you. There's an edit warring going on by an user User:Shivamsetu on pages of Patna and Bihar. Earlier it was written Bihar is a north indian state but he changed it to east. I've some reliable source (like news clips from india's trusted media group like The hindu, India today, TOI for instance see [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9] ) which openely says Bihar is a north indian state and also an Indian goverment site (Cultural zones of India) which puts Bihar in both the categories ie, North Central Indian Cultural Zone ([10]) and East Indian Cultural Zone ([11]) (this is the only source on which a wikipedia page North India is created). And that guy also has some proofs to put Bihar in east india (sources like same media group and bihar goverment sites and etc which says bihar an eastern indian state). So bro, i wanna say that isn't it possible to put and show Bihar as an eastern as well as northern Indian state likewise Indian goverment categorized it into these two groups?? I think it is possible because i've reliable source of information as reference for my claim and he also have so we both can put our points on wikipedia with our reference. And also, he always undo my edits when i put my claim, even i had a discussion with him but he seems to me like an arrogant and thinks that he's self sophisticated and self centred and like just he own these pages and only he could make edits and only his sources are reliable. Currently he's got that page blocked from editing with the help of some other users. So please you can do something about that? And also it feels to me and other peoples like denying our right to edit on wikipedia even when we've reliable source of information as to put as reference. And moreover that user looks to me an east freak, everywhere just putting east and east and east. 70.39.185.209 (talk) 08:37, 16 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!, I appreciate your effort in raising this concern. However, in my opinion, the best fit adjective for Bihar is an Eastern State. I agree that this could be refined to carve out categories for e.g. East Central State for Bihar, but this needs ample discussions as well as consensus building not only on Wikipedia but also in real world. The fact that many newspapers have termed Bihar as North Indian State are contextual in nature and this happens when someone from South India refers about Bihar. In a similar scenario, a newspaper from Jammu and Kashmir can call it as a South Indian State, which would definitely sound ridiculous. A balanced view can be taken by gauging the direction from national Capital New Delhi, from where it clearly is an Eastern State. Quartzd (talk) 14:35, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Soumita saha[edit]

Hello Quartzd,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Soumita saha for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Soumita saha requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I am pretty sure you will not "keep on removing" content that you find "untrustworthy". Wikipedia is a collaborative effort. If you genuinely want to do good for Wikipedia, then raise queries on the talk pages, or use the number of tags available for the purpose such as template:citation needed, template:verification needed, template:dubious etc. You cannot simply go and remove long-standing content based on your own convictions. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 08:47, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kautilya3 Actually I can. Unsourced long standing content violate WP:NOR and hence liable to be removed. Since I have already performed bombastic deletions, why don't you report it immediately? What are you waiting for? Go ahead and report. Quartzd (talk) 18:52, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
