Hello, ReillyG13. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, WAA Park Wyandotte MI, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TigraanClick here to contact me 14:36, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Lions Club Park Wyandotte MI

[edit]

Hi, I'm ThePlatypusofDoom. ReillyG13, thanks for creating Lions Club Park Wyandotte MI!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I'm really not sure why this is notable. Please explain why, or I will nominate this article for deletion

Advice

[edit]

Please don't create unfinished articles in article space. Use the draft facility or your sandbox. Deb (talk) 14:49, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Lloyd Carr Park Riverview MI requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Non-notable park, per A&, page was just deleted for same criteria

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Warning

[edit]

It appears you are the same user as User:Mckenzie1248. Wikipedia strongly forbids the use of multiple accounts by the same person, particularly as a means of evading warnings or blocks, and it is not hard for us to identify you. Please restrict yourself to a single account, or you will be blocked from editing on any account. Also, please stop creating pages for small parks; these are not sufficiently notable to warrant encyclopedia articles. —swpbT 14:51, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not a valid reason

[edit]

"I need it for school" is not a valid reason to keep a page on wikipedia. Please refrain from making pages about non-notable small parks ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 14:56, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your app

[edit]

You mention on Talk:Lloyd Carr Park Riverview MI that you are creating these pages about local parks to support an app you are building. I congratulate you on your efforts, but you can't use Wikipedia as a free repository of data needed by your app. If your app needs access to an online database of parks, you'll have to build that elsewhere on another Webhosting service. (Understand that you can create your own Wiki on just about any webhosting service, as the Wikipedia software is open source an can be freely installed on most webhosting services.) School project

[edit]

Hello,

I suppose that you are a teacher or a student, involved in a current school assignment implicating the creation of Wikipedia articles about parks in Michigan.

As you may have already guessed, there is concern in the Wikipedia community that your work disrupts, rather than improves, Wikipedia. I assume you are acting in good faith, but not all parks are worth of a Wikipedia article; there are concerns about the "notability" of these topics. It would be better to have a discussion beforehand about what is and is not acceptable for your project: it will avoid wasting everyone's time (yours creating articles that are not acceptable, and Wikipedians' deleting them).

Please abstain from creating such articles until the matter has been discussed, and pass the word to other persons in your class. I suggest that the teacher comments at this venue: Wikipedia:Education_noticeboard/Incidents#Michigan_parks_school_project.

Best regards, TigraanClick here to contact me 15:55, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, as an alternative to deletion I have merged some of the parks articles into the article on Wyandotte, Michigan. That way the work remains visible and your or your students' research hasn't been wasted. -- Euryalus (talk) 00:35, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
