Thanks for uploading Image:Les_Wampas,_2000.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit]

On this article, I don't know how I ran into it. Nonetheless, I have reviewed several other band/music articles. Albums are not given seperate articles. I don't have time to argue or quote any guideline, but it's up to you to decide what to do. I have this on my watchpage, so if someone wants to WP:AfD I will support them. Until then, happy writings. meatclerk 07:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Odetta Sings Ballads and Blues original cover 1956.jpg)

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Odetta Sings Ballads and Blues original cover 1956.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image:Swingin' Utters.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Swingin' Utters.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 06:24, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Holocaust protection

[edit]

Unfortunately, a page cannot be protected permanently, which is why I decided to try unprotection for a while. I know it is bound to be placed back, since the article is heavily and frequently vandalized. I guess unprotecting didn't go too well this time either, so I am re-protecting the page. Thanks for uploading Image:Utterspromo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Recently, you said you would be interested in joining a WikiProject on BBC Sitcoms. This project is now active and if you would like to help with it please express your interest on the project talk page, if not please remove your name from the list of participants section on the project main page. I have thought that every month or so we should concentrate on one project, I have yet to think of one for January. If you are interested please leave an idea for what sitcom would be best, on the project talk page. Thankyou Mollsmolyneux 16:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think that three sitcoms (Bloomers (TV series), Brush Strokes, The Liver Birds) suggested by Berks105 would be a good place to start for January. What do you think? Which one should we concentrate on? Please post comments on the BBC Sitcoms talk page. Mollsmolyneux 19:09, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moving articles

[edit]

Hiya. Regarding your move of Festival (film). Just for future reference, the preferred way to do this would be to use the 'move' tool to move Festival (film) to Festival (2005 film), rather than copy and pasting it. This is important because this way the edit history is moved as well. Copy and pasting it means that the edit history becomes disassociated with the article. I've fixed everything anyway now, though, so nothing to worry about. The JPStalk to me 13:46, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
File:WikiProject North East England newsletter.bmp.jpg

Responsible?, as mentioned on the Project Page, all the members will receive a newsletter informing them of all the latest news about WikiProject North East England. Their are a small selection of news stories in which I would like to bring to your attention:

The one month milestone!

As you will most probably know, the Project will be one month old in less than twenty four hours, so far the project appears to have been successful so far, almost five hundred articles have been tagged informing viewers that the article is within the scope of this project, the Project now has eight members which is good but I'm sure that will double or even triple within the time of the next newsletter

Urgent help needed

As mentioned above, urgent help is needed for tagging articles and rating them for their quality and their importance, by viewing:

and all of the subpages, a range of untagged articles can be found, there will be at least a thousand their in which require tagging and I/we need your help in doing this!

That is all for this newsletter, if you would like to bring anything to my attention or have any comments to make then please leave me a message on my talk page or leave a note on the Project talk page and I/someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for reading and I hope you are still enjoying being a member. Regards - Tellyaddict 20:49, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Leadbelly_Rock_Island_Line_Original_1935-1943_Recordings.jpg. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Fair use rationale for Image:Danioneal1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Danioneal1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading Image:Danioneal1.jpg.

Season finale category

[edit]

You shouldn't spend a lot of time filling up that category because it's only a matter of time before the anti-category bridage nominates it for deletion. I think there have been similar categories in the past that have been deleted. -- Scorpion0422 19:44, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Cox's Road, Sydney, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --lifebaka (Talk - Contribs) 16:29, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Les Wampas logo.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Les Wampas logo.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi. This little form letter is just a courtesy notice to let you know that a proposal to merge the projects Wikipedia:WikiProject Free images, Wikipedia:WikiProject Fair use, Wikipedia:WikiProject Moving free images to Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia:WikiProject Illustration into the newly formed Wikipedia:WikiProject Images and Media has met with general support at Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals/Files. Since you're on the rosters of membership in at least one of those projects, I thought you might be interested. Conversation about redirecting those projects is located here. Please participate in that discussion if you have any interest, and if you still have interest in achieving the goals of the original project, we'd love to have you join in. If you aren't interested in either the conversation or the project, please pardon the interruption. :) Thanks. Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:34, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Hell (Father Ted) screengrab.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Hell (Father Ted) screengrab.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Central Germany

[edit]

Hi Responsible. I see what you're aiming to do now. However, when I write "central Germany" etc I am really just using it as geographical indicator, not referring to any defined economic, cultural or tourist region named "Central Germany". So maybe it's best either to use Central Germany (geography), although it would be useful if the article could define that based on the literature. Cheers. --Bermicourt (talk) 06:16, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it to central Germany (geography), probably the most appropriate article at the moment. But if you find a more appropriate article or region to link to, feel free to change it. Thanks, Responsible? (talk) 06:30, 2 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
