Have a question

Hi, I want to be a contributing editor here, however I have an important question, is there a list of "tags", the one you put on a page like {{unclear|date}}, {{ref improve|date}} and etc. Is there a complete list of those different tags that we put on a page. Tango Café

Thank you, SefBau, I greatly appreciate your taking the time to advise and comment on the creation of the Tango Café page. Not sure if this is the correct place to address the concerns. If not, I apologize and please enlighten me.

There were two criticisms: one that the piece "read like a biography" of the owner. Three sentences out of nine mentioned her name. I have eliminated the last two references. (As a newbie with wikipedia, I don't really see the references as excessive, but so be it. )

The other issue was the use of videos as references. There were six articles referenced from newspapers. There were seven references to "The Tango Cafe Legacy" video series, of which five were interviews or discussions. Their purpose was to document the Tango Café's role in Pittsburgh as a cultural center in multiple dimensions. To me, again as a new contributor, these seem more "verifiable" than many printed and broadcast sources. They don't qualify as "self-published", in the sense that the author/videographer of the series, Victor Beltrán, was not a subject or a participant. (I did fail to include the author's name.) In any case, they may be republished the Latin American Cultural Union or the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; I don't know if that makes them more suitable as references or not.

The remaining references document music performances and art shows at the Café; I can see the problem with including them in the reference section. I wonder whether some of these are suitable for inclusion via an "External Links" section or side-bar?

• Hi! I myself is new here in WP, you've also reached the right place for me to answer. I'm actually confused with your article first, what is your main reason for contributing that article? Please read WP:Notability & WP:GNG & WP:NOT. Right, the article somehow have references, but as the article looks right now it is not on a publishing state. It is actually confusing as a cafe was also used as a cultural center, as I see this is what you're trying to say its significance. However, "video, and multimedia materials that have been recorded then broadcast, distributed, or archived by a 'reputable' party may also meet the necessary criteria to be considered reliable sources. Like text sources, media sources must be produced by a reliable third party and be properly cited.' For me, YouTube is not. References about the performances must be few, personally the inline citation for the performances looks too cluttered.
• Maybe you have the right references but the way it is written doesn't give me the impression of its importance. Read existing articles that is similar to yours and base your WP:Formatting there, as improper formats often doesn't get approved. Expand the whole article to give us vast information for its significance to have its own page here. BTW, you can still add credible information about the owner if it is needed I said it looks like a bio since there was little info for the main article and just looks like a bio. :)
• I may be wrong so let the other editors read it, RESUBMIT IT but I'm guessing they'll say the same. Sorry couldn't help much as I'm only using my mobile phone. Hope this helps. SefBau :  msg  01:31, 15 August 2013 (UTC)

CSD pointers

Hi Sef! I just deleted an article you tagged for CSD, and wanted to give you a quick tip on tagging for deletion. The article in question (Davy vara) was a pretty clear A7 (didn't assert notability about the subject), but you also tagged it as a G10 (attack page). I read it over and it didn't seem like an attack to me. Usually, we only tag things as attack pages when they're pretty blatant. Good call on the A7, though. Same concept, different note, but I thought I wouldn't include it under the same heading. It's great that you've jumped straight into some of the more complicated stuff but please do be careful when deciding whether something should be nominated for deletion. WP:BEFORE (as in "before you nominate something for deletion") is an important step in the process. It encourages you to check for sources that might not be present in the article but might be available. Improving an article with sources is always a better option than deleting - remember we are here to build an encyclopaedia. This nomination, for example, probably wasn't a very good idea. Just remember that the notability of subjects isn't judged on the sources currently listed in articles, but on the availability of sources that cover the subject. Don't just nominate articles for deletion because they contain no sources - nominate them if, after doing your own search, you can't find any sources that could be added. Yeah? Happy hunting! But you're gonna hate me - I'm starting to think Ingrid Lukas might also be notable enough for inclusion. Sorry. She was part of the official Swiss Government-appointed talent roster for the London 2012 Olympics; part of the House of Switzerland. That is another unsourced claim that can't be proven. I am very thankful fr your kind and valuable advice on this EDGARDO BUSCAGLIA piece. I would not have known where to go without your suggested structure. tnank you. I will add the information you suggested.

The education, pro bono work and international awards named after Edgardo Buscaglia can be added without any problems. On his "personal life", I do not possess any information and the public websites on "Edgardo Buscaglia" with many of his op-eds and articles for the general media such as in The New York Times or in scientific journals, do not state details on "personal" life most likely on privacy and safety grounds (given his line of worldwide work on counter-organized crime and saving victims' lives) .
