Paul Puopolo[edit]

Hi again, nice work creating Paul Puopolo! I've made a few small edits to it, but nothing serious, as it was in pretty good shape. The only really major thing I did was move the article from Paul Puopolo (Australian footballer) (now a redirect) to Paul Puopolo. The reason for this is that you only need to add "(footballer)" or "(Australian footballer)" to articles as a form of disambiguation if there is already an article on Wikipedia at the main title. If you're creating an article and there is no article already at the desired title (such as Paul Puopolo), then there's no need to add anything in brackets to the title. Sorry if it seems like I'm hassling you every time you create an article, but it's just great to another person creating Aussie rules articles. Happy editing, Jenks24 (talk) 09:16, 5 May 2011 (UTC).

Jenks I understand everything you have to say and I will attempt to fix all my problems to make sure you stop hassling me. Springyboy (talk) 03:32, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Alaska Cessna 180 Crash[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Alaska Cessna 180 Crash has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Crashes among general aviation aircraft are far more common than incidents involving airliners, and are therefore not considered encyclopedically notable unless they involve famous people, or lead to industry-wind changes in safety procedures, see common standards for inclusion at WP:AIRCRASH. Otherwise, the event is more of a news story (WP:NOTNEWS).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sjakkalle (Check!) 08:03, 28 May 2011 (UTC)

PNG Dash 8 crash page move[edit]

G'day, this is just a heads-up to let you know that copy-and-paste is not the way to do a page move. At the top of the page you should be able to see a tab that says 'move'. When you want to move a page, you click on that tab. This is required to preserve the edit history for legal reasons. You will need to get in contact with an admin to sort it out to ensure it's done properly. Cheers YSSYguy (talk) 02:43, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Springy, please do not take umbrage at these comments, but fixing the improperly-done page move is not optional, and under the rule of "you f**k it, you fix it" prevalent in the aviation industry you are the responsible person that ought to get in touch with an admin to sort it out. One of the boxes on your User page says, "This user tries to do the right thing. If he/she makes a mistake, please let him/her know". I have let you know, please do something about it soon. Cheers :-) YSSYguy (talk) 09:07, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
No, I am not an admin. YSSYguy (talk) 10:40, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
It's actually very easy to perform a page move properly. A move that you could justifiably perform is 2011 Angolan Air Force crash to 2011 Angolan Air Force EMB-120 crash; you could say "include aircraft type" or similar as the reason for the move. YSSYguy (talk) 11:00, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Airlines PNG Flight 1600 - Cut and Paste Warning[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give 2011 Airlines PNG DHC crash a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Huawei Sonic[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Huawei Sonic requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 03:18, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

December 2011[edit]

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Huawei Sonic. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 03:19, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Why yes, thank you very much for reviewing my article.

The vast majority of these gastropod articles I create have exceptionally short references which I collect from the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). I so happen to find that some articles have the exact same reference as one another, such as articles on a particular species within a certain genus. Replaceable fair use File:HP Prime Graphing Calculator.png[edit]

Ambox warning pn.svg

Thanks for uploading File:HP Prime Graphing Calculator.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 18:08, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

2013 Maccabiah Games[edit]

Hi

You've recently changed the metal table in this edit. You've not sourced your change and I cannot verify it. First of all, the Maccabiah has four separate medal table, one for Junior, one for Masters, one for Open, and one for Paralympics. The 'Open' is the professional category and is equivalent to the medal table of the Olympics. Here are the official scores: Juniors, Masters, Open, and Paralympics.

Please ping me back when you read this; this needs to be documented adequately in that article or in the 2013 Maccabiah Games medal table article.

787 operators map[edit]

Hi Springyboy,

I noticed you updated the map of Boeing 787 operators several times as new airlines begin flying the type. For a while Belgium has been missing from the map (the aircraft has been in service for several months with Jetairfly). Is there a chance you could update it so it can be re-added into the article. The Netherlands and Canada will need to be added soon too as Arkefly and Air Canada respectively begin operating the type. Thanks in advance. SempreVolando (talk) 14:29, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
