Speedy deletion nomination of Copysoft

[edit]

Hello SumeetJi,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Copysoft for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Arcanum Computing moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Arcanum Computing, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 13:55, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage (board game) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://shop.wizkids.com/products/dungeon-of-the-mad-mage-standard-edition-online-store. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~ Amkgp 💬 15:27, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, SumeetJi. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ~ Amkgp 💬 15:32, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Amal Graafstra, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Microchip implant. ARBIPA sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi SumeetJi, if you intend to topics related to any of the above named countries, you are required to read and follow all the applicable Wikipedia policies. Failure to do so can invite sanctions. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:32, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like, even though you have been here for a while, you never received a welcome message. I will give one now. It gives you a quick guide to the various policies you need to adhere to. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:35, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Care to define which rules I broke and what instances so I don't repeat it? I've had a look at what you've linked and cannot see it at all. - SumeetJi (talk) 20:48, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The alert is about what you need to do in future, not what you have done in past. So I won't narrate the things from the past.
  • A golden rule is to be civil to other editors at all times. If you engage in personal attacks or abuses, you will be quickly shown the door.
  • If you are challenging existing content, you need to do so based on reliable sources, either the sources that are already being used or some new sources you bring to the table. If you bring a new source, all you need to say is read XYZ, page so and so, and it contradicts what is written here. Making arguments based on what you think is "possible" or "not possible" (you can go back and read your comments again) will not get you anywhere.
  • If you are polite and make policy-based comments, you will find that other editors will pay back in kind. Otherwise, they will just walk away and ignore you. We are all volunteers here. Nobody is obligated to engage in debates with you. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 02:03, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Mughal Empire. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.SpacemanSpiff 12:59, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have given an appropriate response that accepts the users ruling in the Talk page with concession to remove biassed source. The user is refusing to read my edit. I will write it again one last time. SumeetJi (talk) 13:02, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • You initiated a talk page discussion only after this warning, you seem to be under the misapprehension that if you say something that's consensus. You want to change long standing content in the article, the onus is on you to get agreement PRIOR to doing that, especially when there's an objection. —SpacemanSpiff 14:01, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I mentioned the user in a continuous discussion section involving them named "Text in lead on "pacification" vs. "suppression"" before your comment on this talk page which another user also mentioned them. I also followed your direction after your warning and created the new section specifically for them which they haven't answered I've also escalated after reading Wikipedia's rules and posted the dispute for resolution on this page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Third_opinion#Active_disagreements SumeetJi (talk) 14:14, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Third Opinion listing has been removed because third opinions have been given by RegentsPark and TrangaBellam (or, depending on how you want to see it, more than two editors are now involved in the dispute, so it no longer qualifies for a Third Opinion). If further dispute resolution is desired, see here for additional options. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 19:01, 9 July 2021 (UTC) (Third Opinion volunteer)[reply]
  • Final warning: Any further form of disruption will cause your editing privileges to be revoked. Just because you don't get your way, you can't indulge in personal attacks. —SpacemanSpiff 03:53, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You accuse me of "*You initiated a talk page discussion only after this warning, you seem to be under the misapprehension that if you say something that's consensus." When clearly I didn't. I did message the user and continued following your rules after. I accepted the decision and leaved my note on the article to say I'm no longer involved. What are you talking about? SumeetJi (talk) 04:57, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • You just went on a rant on the talk page calling people useless. If you don't understand even what you type, that's not my problem, any further disruption and you will be blocked. —SpacemanSpiff 05:02, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Context matters, I was accused first by yourself and them of misleading matters and personal attacks e.g. "troll" which were unwarranted. I accepted all decisions. Never in 5 years have I had any issue on this site except that 1 biassed racist article which I attempted to fix and even then I followed every rule once I learnt the correct way to do so. Goodbye. Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as pure vandalism or a blatant hoax, because... (your reason here) --SumeetJi (talk) 10:30, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've been here for 5 years and never had any issues.

I've noticed racism from the Mughal Empire page from Wiki admins and authors, which led me to believe other such genocides are being lied about.

Going to other Wikipedia pages in the last 3 days shows high levels of English Wikipedia admins supporting racism.

Any rule that I broke I followed all steps to fix the issues, clearly Wikipedia is a racist website. The Uyghur genocide fake article is the final nail in the coffin from this disgusting website.

If there are going to be no non Western voices on this website to counterbalance the racism from English Wikipedia Admins, then I suggest you delete my account. SumeetJi (talk) 10:30, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just a tip, this is usually not the way to go to get an article's content changed. Calling admins biased while advocating for a change to an article about genocides just looks really dubious. You could spend the same number of words eloquently explaining your position, because right now people like me have no idea exactly what concern you have with those articles, other than the non-descriptive notion that the genocides are "being lied about".
