Warning
[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Bangladesh Scouts. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --jergen (talk) 20:42, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
You have been repeatedly told to discuss your proposed changes on the talk page of Bangladesh Scouts. You have now added them back three times without such discussion. This is in violation of the three revert rule in the Wikipedia:Edit warring policy. If you revert once more you will be blocked from editing wikipedia. Come on, Scouts are suppose to be friendly and collaborate. Try to justify your changes on the talk page. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:16, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:32, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Bangladesh Scouts
[edit]Let us keep the discussion here on your talk page. On my talk page you said:-
hello brother i am a President's Scout of Bangladesh Scouts, i made the changes to the page because it will make the page nice, some of my friends suggested me to make the changes, & i am a authenticated person of Bangladesh Scouts.
All of this is not really relevant. It is not about making a page nice. It is all about writing an encyclopedia and that means the article has to follow our policies and guidelines. Look at those that are linked from the welcome statement above. You do not have to be an authenticated person of Bangladesh Scouts to edit this article. In fact you may be too close to the subject. We all have to be more careful when we are writing about something we are connected to. Let me discuss some of your edits. First, you edited the infobox and showed that you do not understand how it works. Some of your changes did not even appear in the box. Jergen knows much more about that infobox than you or I, so learn from him. We do not use titles of people in the infobox. Second, you removed an interesting historical paragraph that was sourced. You must not do this without giving an explanation in the edit summary or on the talk page of the article. Now it has been challenged you will have to convince other editors on the talk page. Third you added links to flickr and facebook. The proper place for these is on the web pages of your organization not on wikipedia. There are just advertising that we do not allow.
I have just seen that you have reverted my edits and your only comment on the talk page is about imgaes and you do not explain what images you are talking about. I have reverted you and you deserve to be blocked, but I will hold off to allow you to respond to this. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:59, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

I am sure you gained a lot from a rather hectic interaction with other editors a few hours ago. Wikipedia is quite difficult for a new editor to understand. As a word of advice I suggest you leave Bangladesh Scouts for a while and start doing a few edits on other Scouting articles. For example is the Bangladesh Scout Museum mentioned in Scouting museums? Is the Bangladesh Promise and Law done properly in Scout Promise and Scout Law? I suggest you also look at the images of badges on many other articles on national Scouting associations. You will find very few that are on Commons. They are on wikipedia and have a notice about why they can be used under the fair use provision. Scout Associations have the copyright on their badges. You can not just release a photograph of one of them under a free license on Commons. The new image of the President's Award which you uploaded will almost certainly be deleted. You should upload it to wikipedia and get the copyright declaration correct. It can then be used under fair use on designated articles. Good luck. --Bduke (Discussion) 02:52, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
A couple of points. First, "Mouchak, Gazipur" needs linking. Is it Gazipur, Dhaka Division or Gazipur District or something else listed in the disambiguation page, Gazipur? Second, the Banglapedia source seems to be no longer active. Jergen's search found an cache of it. Is Banglapedia still active? --Bduke (Discussion) 03:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
You really must stop reverting good edits by other editors. Otherwise you will find yourself blocked from editing. It is particularly unacceptable to remove templates such as those asking for sources or other improvements if you do not provide sources or other improvements. It is also unacceptable to not use the edit summary. I do not think you have ever used that to explain what you are doing. You have already been told quite clearly that you do have support to remover the war history paragraph. You are still messing up the infobox. Respect the fact that other editors know more than you about policies, guidelines and styles (capitalisation and punctuation of lists for example). You could try asking them why they made an edit, if their edit summary is not clear. I strongly suggest that you give this article a rest while you learn more about wikipedia. --Bduke (Discussion) 05:15, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
@bduke--- brother sorry for the revert, but we don't want to use the history of the pakistan, In 1958, the second National Jamboree of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association was held at Chittagong with 4,000 participants. The fifth National Jamboree of the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association in 1969 used the grounds of the new Training Centre of the East Pakistan Boy Scouts Association at Mouchak.[2] i dont thik it is necessery, we are talking about Bangladesh scouts, not Pakistan's, we the people of Bangladesh, do not like Pakistanis, hope you know the reason, that's why i am reverting the topics again & again --Tahmidazuwad (talk) 13:11, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I am sorry, but wikipedia is an international encyclopedia and your comments are not from a neutral point of view (NPOV), which is an absolute clear policy. "we don't want to use the history of the pakistan" is not acceptable here. Those events where held in what is now Bangladesh and I am sure that a massive number of local scouts attended. It is perfectly acceptable for them to be included in the article. In fact NPOV dictates that wikipedia should cover the history of Scouting before the start of the Bangladesh Scout Association. That would include when you were under the British and when you were part of Pakistan. However, it might be included in the overall article Scouting and Guiding in Bangladesh as a history section. --Bduke (Discussion) 21:01, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Fair use images of Scout badges
[edit]You need to look at other images and articles. For example look at all the badge images and logo images on Progressive Award Scheme and The Scout Association. Then read about fair use. --Bduke (Discussion) 06:55, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Regarding your question on my talk page, no, I am not going to license them as you say. They will be deleted from Commons and it is your job to upload them to wikipedia, because they are your images even if the copyright is still on them from your association. You have to ask for the fair use. However, the President Award has been uploaded already by Chris. I have just got up and will be unavailable for the rest of the day after the next hour. --Bduke (Discussion) 20:45, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:8th National Scout Jamboree.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:8th National Scout Jamboree.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Armbrust Talk Contribs 19:43, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
- Every non-free image needs a fair-use rationale (FUR).
- Every image needs licensing.
- Every non-free image must be used in at least one article, and there must be content in the article that makes the image relevant. Don't upload an image until you have a good use for it.
- The file talk page should be tagged with {{ScoutingWikiProject|class=Image}}.
I added a blank FUR template and the top level license for Scouting images— you need to edit the file page and fill in the blanks— the article name and source are mandatory.
- The preferred formats are PNG and SVG.
- The background should be trimmed and transparent.
I can fix these later.
In the future, follow the instructions at Category:Scout logos and use the upload link that will add the needed templates.

Orphaned non-free image File:8th National Scout Jamboree.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:8th National Scout Jamboree.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 03:13, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Tahmid Hassan Chowdhury
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Tahmid Hassan Chowdhury, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
