April 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm PEIsquirrel. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Neo-nationalism, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Ivanvector's squirrel (trees/nuts) 12:32, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, our biography on the person you added may support the claim of neo-nationalism, but our referencing policy and our policy on information concerning living persons requires that you provide an inline citation wherever this information appears. If you can pull a source from the individual's biography, that's perfect, but they cannot be listed on the neo-nationalism page without an inline citation. Thanks. Disambiguation link notification for May 25[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Huguenots in South Africa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Québécois. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:06, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Theasiancowboy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Sino-French War does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Questions page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

March 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Pabsoluterince (talk) 13:51, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary Sanctions Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Balkans or Eastern Europe. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Human rights in Indonesia into Democratic backsliding by country. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:02, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Grands Prix cancelled[edit]

Hi. It was already explained by @Tvx1: in talk page. We do not need a whole table for only two Grands Prix called off. Please stop insisting on adding this table. Regards. Island92 (talk) 14:42, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this. It's covered in prose text and this is fine, and preferred anyway as per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Tables#Prose: Prose is preferred in articles as prose allows the presentation of detail and clarification of context, in a way that a table may not. Prose flows, like one person speaking to another, and is best suited to articles, because their purpose is to explain. Joseph2302 (talk) 15:48, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Plus this table doesn't convey anything not already in the article. It literally adds nothing. People who add do so because "it look's good".Tvx1 16:54, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
