Hi Vrenator, Can you Leave Charles on for the day, it's his birthday. He's part Welsh! Thanks, Yorkville —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yorkville (talkcontribs) 16:34, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion[edit]

Cheers for the suggestion, but every time i clicked "preview", it came out as i wanted it to. So i'd click "save" and it'd be slightly off. I'm sure somebody else can perfect what i was trying to do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.166.222.163 (talk) 11:35, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FYI[edit]

Hello, this is to let you know that you have made a little mistake in reverting the wrong edit here. FYI, the IP editor (218.186.8.234) was actually correct in reverting the other IP editor (218.186.8.238) until you came along. Per WP:SYN, you cannot quote a different figure/statement from that of the quoted sources (provided here & here), please be more careful in future, thank you. Best. --Dave ♠♣♥♦№1185♪♫™ 17:27, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer permission[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:41, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback[edit]

Hello, per your request, I've granted you Rollback rights! Just remember:

If you have any questions, please do let me know.

--HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:41, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Auto-reviewing[edit]

I noticed you auto reviewed both this and this edit as reviewed. Obviously one isn't right. The editor undid their own edits, but I'd suggest you be careful when reviewing pages, particularly when editors change factual errors. Shadowjams (talk) 09:11, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Many thanks, Vrenator, for all you do on Wikipedia—especially keeping my personal pages free of vandalism!!! Regards, Pinethicket (talk) 10:22, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

I noticed this user Bjoh249 (talk) vandalizing a couple of articles that I edit on Wikipedia. Another editor went ahead and reverted his/her edits. How does someone report a repeat offender? As you can see on his/her talk page, another editor has already warned him twice. What can be done? CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 21:31, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page should give you the information you need:
Wikipedia:Guide to administrator intervention against vandalism Vrenator (talk) 21:46, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I will try to check out that link tonight. Strange, though, this user has several warning already on his/her page. Again, I appreciate the quick link. CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 22:01, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, what to do about a user posting the same thing on 3 different article pages? The previous user is making the same post on the Geneation X, Generation Y, and now the Strauss & Howe TALK pages. I thought there was some rule against doing that? Since, this same user was engaging in reverting edits, he then went on to vandalize the page and use foul language. What is the proper channel now? Report vandal? Edit warring? CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 01:24, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If the user vandalizes on the same page or different pages then warnings should be given. If there is a difference of opinion rather than vandalism it should be discussed on the article's talk page. I'm not an administrator but you may wish to discuss it with an administrator. Just look up the Help pages on Edit warring and vandalism and report it if necessary. Vrenator (talk) 06:29, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks again, Vrenator, for watching my user page. That appears to be an IP user who just registered and their first edit was on my user page. I imagine they were a blocked IP address, and I had something to do with the block. It is a battle out there! Regards, Pinethicket (talk) 13:23, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive?[edit]

How am I acting disruptivly? It is my view that there is a total misuse of power going on here! A view that can't be removed from me,I've made no biased edits, engaged in discussion, and provided a fifth reference to the existing four in regards to Derry Airports irish name.--NorthernCounties (talk) 19:04, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forged signature[edit]

Hi. I am not sure if this is something you care about, but I thought I ought to let you know that an anonymous IP forged your signature on a warning template posted on the talk page of another anonymous user who hadn't actually done anything wrong: diff. I have removed the inappropriate warning and made it clear in the edit summary that it wasn't anything to do with you: hist. --DanielRigal (talk) 15:46, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your Revert on Martin Luther Mathews[edit]

Just so you know, that revert should not have been made. The author of the content blanked the page, so it was not vandalism. The page should instead have been tagged for speedy deletion and deleted, which has now been done. So, just a reminder that when there is only one author of any substantial content on a page, and he blanks it, it can be tagged for speedy deletion. --Slon02 (talk) 16:10, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - i was in the process of undoing and putting on a speedy tag but you beat me to it Vrenator (talk) 16:24, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Omegle vandalism reverted, then re-reverted[edit]

It seems that you reverted vandalism to the Omegle article, and then reverted your own reversion. Why did you do that? If it was a mistake can you fix it? If not, can you explain why that change should stand? Thanks.—GraemeMcRaetalk 19:31, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I unintentionally reverted the edit so undid my own mistake - Feel free to revert if you wantVrenator (talk) 19:37, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
But it wasn't a mistake. By reverting vandalism, and then reverting your revert, you hid the vandalism from the community (and confused the heck out of me!) but all is well: on 9/26/2010, an IP spotted the error and fixed it here.—GraemeMcRaetalk 17:33, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Regulate_(song)[edit]

Hi, I saw that you reverted a deleting of the synopsis of "Dial M For Murder." The reason I deleted that section was to draw attention to the inconsistent and capricious deletion of the synopsis of the 1994 hip-hop song "Regulate" [Regulate_(song)]. Describing this rap song in neutral, encyclopedic language produced a comic effect, but as many people have noted in the discussion, it also served to further understanding of the song. Yet several passionate editors have been entirely deleting the synopsis section -- not making constructive edits -- and have cited "original research." Many of us who appreciated the synopsis --when I was 13 years old this song was #1 on MTV, but I had no idea what they were talking about and no way to find out -- have not been able to find a reason why this synopsis is deleted as "original research" but movie plot synopses are restored if they are deleted.

I am a passionate wikipedia user, and use it often, sometimes several times a day, in my job as a local magazine editor. Please help us to call attention within the wikipedia editor community to the apparent abuse of editing privledges with the article Regulate_(song).

Thanks --Mike —Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.162.98.124 (talk) 15:37, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This has nothing to do with the content you deleted. Vandalism of other pages should not be used as a way of getting a point acrossVrenator (talk) 15:43, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Zip file edits[edit]

Hello, I'm trying to re-write the zip file article so that the copy edit notice on the origins section can be removed. You might want to revise the article that's what is clearly nonsense.

Maybe so, but discussions should be put on the talk page and not in the article itself. You can edit the article yourself with the correct information providing it is properly sourced Vrenator (talk) 11:23, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate revert[edit]

The change you reverted at https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Cyclic_redundancy_check?diff=390336046 is correct. The word "insecure" is easier than "non-secure" to parse when reading. Even if it wasn't it was inappropriate to revert and leave a message on my talk page as what I did was 100% constructive. You should have left the change as is and left a message on the talk page. Please discuss the change on the talk page if you don't like it.

CSD Declined - Tamasin Ramsay[edit]

Hi! Just to let you know that I have declined the speedy deletion of Tamasin Ramsay. Under the rules of WP:CSD#A7, if an article gives a credible assertion of notability (less stringent than verifiable claims), then it is not a candidate for speedy deletion. I would suggest PROD/AFD/Improve. Stephen! Coming... 16:03, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Speedy deletion category[edit]

Hi! Thanks for nominating St john groom for speedy deletion. I have reviewed and deleted it, but not under A7 (non-notable), but as an attack page. The content of the article (which included the section ...walking the streets in London looking in dustbins ..., and that was one of the less nasty sentences) could not be described as encyclopedic, and was a definite violation of BLP.

Articles that are tagged as attack pages are dealt with much more promptly than those nominated for notability. I don't wish to discourage your efforts with new page patrolling (the more patrollers, the better!), but tagging articles correctly is even more beneficial.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. Stephen! Coming... 16:15, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Employee Assistance Program - revert[edit]

Hi Vrenator,

I would imagine that Wiki is only interested in developing articles that are factual and balanced.

I've noticed that in some cases Wiki articles start out as "advertisements" to sell a "product" or "service" with a "this is the greatest thing since sliced bread" spin, rather than something that is real world and based on research using multiple independent sources. What I wrote was supported by 2 different sources. Note how what existed prior to my involvement is unreferenced (and tagged as such) If an article starts out as an "advertisement" it is the "false neutral baseline" and when someone post something that different it appears as a controversial and as a NPOV (when in fact, the original work was NPOV).

Would it be possible for you to revert your revert. If someone wants to post a NPOV tag then they have that option.

Thanks Albertoarmstrong (talk) 13:05, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is a fact that she defeated the chief minister only because of that. What is wrong in saying it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.182.169.249 (talk) 16:45, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted edit on Masturbation[edit]

You seem to have reverted my edit on masturbation, citing it was unconstructive. You even placed a level 1 vandalism note. I just removed a low-quality picture, that is uploaded by a user [2] who has done little more than uploading low-quality pictures and video of his genitalia. Can you please give me an explanation for the removal? MikeNicho231 (talk) 20:09, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted in error and have already undone my changes. Apologies for this Vrenator (talk) 20:10, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tanzania[edit]

Did you check my edit to Tanzania, which you reverted? I removed a copyright violation, which also consisted completely of original research and soapboxing. The section needed a complete rewrite to fit into Wikipedia, so I feel deletion was fully warranted. 83.84.195.88 (talk) 16:36, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies - I was a bit quick off the mark! I reverted my revert and removed the message on your talk page Vrenator (talk) 16:39, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ffynone and Oakleigh House Schools[edit]

Hi Vrenator. Ffynone House and Oakleigh House Schools are seperate schools owned by the same company that feed into each other. Ideally I would like to split them into seperate pages but don't know how to do that. 213.83.84.162 (talk) 12:42, 1 December 2010 (UTC) David[reply]

Currently Oakleigh House School redirects to Ffynone House. You would need to create an article for Oakleigh and then remove the redirect. The best way to create the article is to set it up in your user space by creating a page User:yourusername/Oakleigh House School. When it is ready move it to the correct place or request for it to be moved. Check out Wikipedia:Your first article. I would strongly suggest that you set up a username first. What next?[edit]

Hi Vrenator. I've put together a page in my sandbox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Damadge/Sandbox How would I ask for this to be transferred to the 'live' site please? I would then go back through the Ffynone House School page and remove unecessary references to Oakleigh House School (and probably add a small paragraph about the feeder relationship between the 2 schools as it is relevant). With thanks Damadge (talk) 16:46, 3 December 2010 (UTC)damadge[reply]

Thank You[edit]

Thank you for that Vrenator. I will start updating Ffynone page today. Regards Damadge (talk) 11:59, 8 December 2010 (UTC) damadge[reply]

This IP address has done NOTHING but vandalize pages. I don't know how to block him, but if you look at his history, all he does is vandalize. Vyselink (talk) 02:50, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help with User page set-up[edit]

Hi, this is ClassArm, you were a great help to me in setting me up with a User page for editing corporate election--Thank You. Could you please help set me up with a user page for editing Conditional Preservation of the Saints. I am just wanting to change how it is referenced, it presently has {{ }} type and not the < > that is so often used and easier to later add or subtract from. This will take some time so I thought it would be best to make the changes in the editor first. Thanks,ClassArm (talk) 12:41, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On your User page User:ClassArm I've set up links to your Corporate election page and also for the new User:ClassArm/Conditional Preservation of the Saints page. This will stop being a red link when you put some information in it and you can then copy it back to the actual project page when you are ready. Vrenator (talk) 14:52, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

THANKS!ClassArm (talk) 16:36, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mardom[edit]

I've changed your 'nonsense' tag to a db-inc. It's not nonsense, it's Polish - but about a furniture company which isn't shown to be notable and should go anyway... Peridon (talk) 14:55, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think he was an important person as he was considered as a pioneer in the development of the United States National Income and Product Accounts and referred as "father of growth accounting". If this article needs expanding, let me try. Please do not delete it. Thanks.Heinrich ⅩⅦ von Bayern (talk) 12:39, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you feel it should not be deleted put a 'Hang on' notice on as perinstructions on the message on your talk page. Vrenator (talk) 12:43, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Just to let you know I've contested the CSD:A7 on Arthur Sadoun and have removed it, because I think CEO of one of France's major international companies is a sufficient claim of importance to avoid A7. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:21, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've intervened and removed the CSD tag. The A7 criteria, as I've learnt, is not applicable when there's an assertion of importance or significance, and there is in this case. I've sent it to AFD instead. Strange Passerby (talkcontribs) 12:46, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
