Please take a look at Talk:Pat_Tillman#Hew_to_the_source and chime in on the discussion as to how the "Offensive material" guidelines apply. The disagreement is whether the word fucking is germane to the section in question or whether it is gratuitous and therefore in opposition to this guideline. Re. Pat Tillman, and the quotation/censorship debate,
In order to clarify, I am asking users to briefly, clearly state which version of the quotation they support or oppose.
Please see Talk:Pat_Tillman#Clarifying_for_consensus
I am sending this message to everyone who has previously participated in the discussion; I do not wish to make any assumptions of the previous opinion.
I want to show clear consensus, so the issue can be resolved and edit-warring can be prevented.
Thanks,

Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 backlog elimination drive
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2011 Backlog elimination drive! Here is your mid-drive newsletter.
So far, 79 people have signed up for this drive. Of these, 64 have participated. Interest is high due to a link to our event from the Watchlist page, and many new and first-time copy editors have joined us for the drive. If you signed up for the drive but haven't participated yet, it's not too late! Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you haven't signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now. Many thanks to those editors who have been helping out at the Requests page. We have assisted in the promotion of seven articles to Good article status so far this month.
We have already achieved our target of reducing the overall backlog by 10%; however, we have more work to do with the 2009 backlog. We have almost eliminated May 2009 and we only have some 700 articles left from 2009. It is excellent progress, so let's concentrate our fire power on the remaining months from 2009. Thank you for participating in the March 2011 drive. We anticipate it will be another big success!
The UtahraptorTalk to me has decided to step down from his position as project coordinator due to real-life issues. Your drive coordinators – S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk) and Tea with toast (Talk) |

Vandal fighting
I mentioned this to you a while back but your mentor was not in favor of it. You may want to try manually reverting to prove that you are ready for your rollback to be returned. If I'm not mistaken, your twinkle was also revoked, I'm sure that proving you can manually revert correctly would also help you get your twinkle returned. Inka888 05:30, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not always going to be on Wikipedia and I haven't had rollback for 3 months, now. There's other stuff better than Wikipedia. I'll do the vandal fighting later. WayneSlam 16:11, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, sounds good. It was just a thought. Inka888 19:46, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Where do you think I should start my vandal fighting that's easy? WayneSlam 22:05, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- I think the best place is usually recent changes made by IPs. If there are any that you're not 100% sure are vandalism, just ignore them and let someone else deal with them - that way it's easier not to make a mistake. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:10, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- I would just click the diff to see if it's vandalism or not. If I'm not sure, I won't revert. WayneSlam 22:13, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) If you wish, you can also try WP:LUPIN. I used it, before discovering Twinkle and it helped me to get started fighting vandalism... If you take it slowly, it might be very helpful. Cheers. Salvio Let's talk about it! 00:26, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Rollback
Wayne, I am willing to grant you rollback under a few conditions. First, you promise not to edit war using rollback with no discussion whatsoever. Failure to do so will result in a 24-hour block on the first offense and a loss of rollback. Second, you promise not to misuse rollback (and re-read WP:ROLLBACK and WP:VANDALISM to make sure you don't). If anyone complains on your talk page about your misuse, the privilege will be taken away again after the first offense. Third, please please please re-read WP:VAND#NOT to see what is not vandalism. Do you agree to these terms? Eagles 24/7 (C) 16:11, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but will I get some help though? WayneSlam 17:04, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- User:The Blade of the Northern Lights, User:HJ Mitchell, User:N419BH and User:5 albert square offered assistance to you in December when your rollback was revoked, try asking them for help since your mentor is inactive right now. Eagles 24/7 (C) 17:23, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- I will. Rollbacking on my own without help is not right because I don't know everything about Wikipedia and I rather keep rollback with help. I would be willing to take your assistance too, if you want. WayneSlam 17:25, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- I have added back rollback to your account. Eagles 24/7 (C) 17:48, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. Now I'm going to tell them. WayneSlam 17:49, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note Wayne. Ask me if you have any questions. Eagles has good advice: read rollback, vandalism, and not vandalism and follow those terms. If you're not sure, ask. I'd shy away from huggle for a while. Spend some time with Stiki, Igloo, or one of the other vandalism tools. Start slow and work your way up. And if there is any doubt in your mind as to whether something is or is not vandalism, go to the page and use undo with an edit summary. Keep up the good work! N419BH 01:12, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- ^^What he said. I would advise staying away from automated tools like STiki Igloo and Huggle altogether. Do some old school recent changes patrolling for a while, and then I'll think about un-salting you hugle.css. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:26, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2010 Ford 400, a new Good Article
The 2010 Ford 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on November 21, 2010 at Homestead Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The 267 lap race was the thirty-sixth in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the final race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. The race was won by Carl Edwards for the Roush Fenway Racing team. Jimmie Johnson finished second, and Kevin Harvick clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead on the first lap of the race. Edwards started in the second position on the grid, and became the leader of the race on the fourth lap. Shortly after a restart on lap 22, championship leader Denny Hamlin spun sideways, resulting with damage to his splitter. Martin Truex, Jr. took the lead on lap 73, but after the final pit stops Edwards was first. He maintained the lead to win the race, having led it for 192 laps. A total of 67,000 people attended the race, while 5.605 million watched it on television. There were ten cautions in the race, as well as twenty-five lead changes among nine different drivers. Edwards' victory was his second win in the 2010 season, with the first coming the previous week at the Kobalt Tools 500. Jimmie Johnson won the Drivers' Championship, 39 points ahead of Denny Hamlin. Johnson's team owner Rick Hendrick won the Owners' Championship. Chevrolet won the Manufacturer Championship with 261 points, 44 points ahead of Toyota.
