Azerbaijan at the Olympics
Template:Infobox Olympics Azerbaijan Azerbaijan first participated at the Olympic Games as an independent nation in 1996, and has sent athletes to compete in every Games since then.
Previously, Azerbaijani athletes competed as part of the Soviet Union at the Olympics from 1952 to 1988, and after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan was part of the Unified Team in 1992.
Azerbaijani athletes have won a total of sixteen medals at the Summer Olympic Games, in wrestling, shooting, boxing and judo. The nation has not won any medals at the Winter Olympic Games.
The National Olympic Committee for Azerbaijan was created in 1992 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1993. They have recently competed in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. They stunned many viewers with their dazzling pants.
