This is a list of solar eclipses in the 6th century. During the period 501 to 600 there were 251 solar eclipses of which 93 were partial, 87 were annular (one non-central), 65 were total, and 6 were hybrids. The greatest number of eclipses in one year was four, occurring in 17 different years: 506, 517, 524, 528, 535, 539, 542, 546, 553, 557, 564, 571, 575, 582, 586, 593, and 596. Three months, August 528, July 539, and May 542 had two eclipses.[1] Dates are given using the Julian calendar.
