{{future election in the United States}} This article is a collection of state-wide public opinion polls that have been conducted relating to the Democratic presidential primaries, 2008. The DNC has set a representation threshold of 15% for all primaries and caucuses. Candidates have to reach the threshold in order to receive delegates.[1] A graphic summary of the data in map form follows.[2][3][4][5][6] For state and territory names abbreviated in the maps in this article, see: List of US postal abbreviations.

Circles are proportional to the number of pledged delegates chosen in each primary or caucus[2].
Past contests are gray. Polls used are marked "" bellow: some polls combined[3].
Above each state is the number of pledged delegates determined by its primary or caucuses.[4] Of the 56 state and territorial contests[5] held by the Democratic Party,
NONE are winner-take-all; delegates are assigned based on the 15% threshold.

In states with caucuses, the statewide winner will not necessarily receive a majority of delegates[6].
Polls used are marked "" below.

  2. ^ Superdelegates are not determined by state primaries or caucuses. They are excluded from the proportional map depiction.
  3. ^ For the delegate proportional map, when more than one recent poll has been completed in a state, results are weighted and combined. The weighting gives individual respondents to different polls equal representation. Polls used (marked "" above) were completed between 14 February and 22 February 2008.

  6. ^ For example, Hillary Clinton won more local delegates in the first round of Nevada's caucuses but, because of the way her delegates are distributed geographically, Barrak Obama is projected to win 13 delegates to her 12 at the Nevada State Convention, to be held 20 April 2008.
